Sebastiani, 2007 Carneros Pinot Noir, $28

It's a Pinot lover's dream: The cherries, cloves and dark chocolate on the nose, silky tannins, smooth mouthfeel, blast of flavors, heft of alcohol and trumpeting finish. This used to be a tasting room-only wine for Sebastiani, but it's out now in distribution around the country. This vintage was particularly terrific for Pinot Noir in Carneros. If you are "Sideways" about Pinot Noir, see if it stands up to your expectations.
