Today's recommended wine

Selections are by wine columnist Sandra Silfven, unless otherwise noted.

Bridlewood , 2007 Monterey County Chardonnay, $15

This is a crisp-dry-tropical Chardonny that sees no oak. Most of the fruit went through the secondary malolactic fermentation to smooth out the acidity. It has a faint complement of Viognier and other white wine in blended in. It's a people-friendly, food-friendly Chard, with just a smidge of sweetness. You dry-drinkers, don't worry. It's still dry. But the fruit has lovely Yellow Delicious attributes, along with nectarines, citrus and walnuts to reel you in. Pour the wine with chicken or seafood dishes, or pork. Bridlewood is located in Santa Barbara County.
