Bert

Amen. What was Holland thinking? He blew the first time he came over.

Overtime Blues

1-4 so far this season. This team absolutely blows when it comes to OT.

If Our Boys

Weren't 5-0 when scoring two or more power play goals they'd have a losing record. Hope they can keep up their torrid power play pace the rest of the season and get some stellar goaltending.

Osbad

WTG big fella. When will Holland wake up? Now Williams is out with a broken leg. This year is not meant to be for the Wings. If they make the playoffs, I'm a happy camper.

Sat. 11/07/09 08:38 PM

Geesh

The forwards on this team are dropping like flies. That looked like a serious torque on Williams knee. Doesn't look good.

Sat. 11/07/09 08:21 PM

Semantics Shawn

You say "doesn't look sharp". I say "soft". Although he was screened on the 1st goal, it went right through the five hole. Same with the second. Just when you think Ozzie might be coming around, he reverts back to his normal hallmark of inconsistency.

Another Softie

By Osgood. Sigh...

Thu. 11/05/09 09:52 PM

I Smell

OT coming. They better win it in OT because they pretty much suck in shootouts.

Thu. 11/05/09 08:57 PM

Oops

Another tween the pads "softie" by Osgood.

Lackadaisical Play For Two Periods

This is a real puzzling character flaw of this team which up until now hasn't hurt them. But this year they don't have the defense or goaltending to bail them out. Now Filppula is out. Can it get much worse? With all this team has lost they can no longer afford to have an average goaltender. KH has to make a move. Otherwise IMHO making the playoffs is an even money proposition.

Looks Like The Wings

Think that all they had to do was show up tonight given that many of the Oilers were sick. Wow, I didn't see Howard against the Canucks but he looks awful tonight. Terribly out of position...flopping all over the place. Of course, his not getting much support from the D. PK looks ragged.

Holland's Shopping List

1. A goaltender who can at least consistently stop the shots that he should. 2. At least one forward who can skate AND finish (score goals). Holland has waited far too long to address the goaltender position. I don't believe Howard is the answer. Poor decision IMHO to waste his money on the likes of Williams and Bertuzzi.

Dick

Cmon Dick...don't sugar coat it. Let us know how you really feel about the Wiz. LOL!

Let

The good times roll. Geez, they score barely 30 seconds into the game.

It will take a lot more than just Hank and Pavel to get going for this team to make the playoffs. The rest of the crew have yet to step up to make for all the lost scoring. It seems for now anyway that KH is betting that the young kids will step up and that Ozzie & Howard will be sufficient in goal. In concept I don't have a problem building the team with youth but I just don't see enough "star" ability to make up for what was lost in the off season any time in the near future. Obviously KH saw this too and chose to supplement the team with Williams and Bertuzzi. For the life of me I don't know why he settled for Bertuzzi. I also don't understand why KH stood pat so long on goaltender. Obviously he saw enough potential in Howard to step in. I don't understand why. I've seen the Griffins play on numerous occasions with Howard in goal. He does not impress me as "standout" material. His stats are rather average. I don't expect much from our boys this year but I am optimistic that they'll get in the playoffs but probably no better than a 6th seed.
