Anecdotal evidence Glenn.For every situation that turns out like your example there are probably 10 where the team played about the same or got worse after a coaching change.The coach is rarely the issue but is a convenient scapegoat.Would love to stay but must get in the Flintstone mobile and roll!!!

Only God Himself could get blood out of that mess of a turnip called Burkes Leafs.The coach is the LEAST of the problems there.A good analogy would be to blame the Lions coach for their failures.Sports at the pro level are about the horses you have.90%+ of the games are determined by them.10% or less are determined by the coach.

Agree rdwings.Bouncy ball jumped the shark when Magic and Bird left.Totally unwatchable sport.March Madness is the only exception and even that is not what it once was.

...Carolina of course beat Brian Burkes Toronto Maple Leafs.The Leafs now have won exactly THREE games of the first 20.Things looked great for the Leafs early as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first.A half a dozen Carolina goals later and the Leafs put their collective tails between their legs and whimpered off towards their next defeat at home when the Capitals come in and destroy them.According to Brian Burke though this Leafs team was going to be..."tough to play against"...Yea it sure is tough facing the leagues worst team!!! LOL!!!

Toronto COULD NOT rule it a goal because Larue was ADAMANT he blew the whistle BEFORE the puck went in the net.He lied is the bottom line.We all agree that the stupid rule needs to go away.Toronto SHOULD have been able to say...we saw the replay and the whistle did NOT blow before the puck was in the net...NOW GET YOUR BIASED A-- OUT TO CENTER ICE AND SIGNAL A GOAL!!!

With a lame excuse.Admitted the puck was in the net but said Larue claimed he had BLOWN THE WHISTLE BEFORE THE PUCK WENT IN THE NET!!! That is an outright lie and Larue knows it.He did not mention he..."intended"...to blow the whistle.It was nearly three seconds before he blew the whistle...BTW...Larue was one of the refs on the ice in the Finals that coincidentally did not see the Penguins with too many men on the ice for 25 seconds. EJ Hradek just correctly pointed out Babs and KH will not be inviting Larue to any parties anytime soon. I will not speculate the motive for his intentionally hosing the Wings.The fact is he CHOSE to hose the Wings.His ilk make me sick.Bettman on at three w/ another disgusting, lame excuse.Why they dont just admit he blew it and put him on some kind of probation/suspension is beyond me.
The three biggest problems last night
First they were outplayed for some of the game.Secondly the fact that the ref blew the initial call is understandable.He did not see the puck.The problem is they didnt utilize the obvious technology they had to get the call right.That is inexcusable. Lastly when informed his call was wrong the incompetent/biased Larue refused to change the call and outright LIED and said he intended to blow the whistle.He knew he got the call wrong and was not MAN enough to admit it.There are too many Larue types in the league.As long as Bettman is in charge we will continue to see this type of bush league officiating.I apologize to bush league refs.Even they would have awarded the goal in the face of irrefutable evidence.
What a joke of a game
Most of us saw what happened.Left a voice mail w/ Pierre.He is probably up in the grill of the refs right now.LOL!!! Friday night will be a different story.Will be interesting to here the take on that bogus game tomorrow.LGRW!!!
The HOSE job is nearly complete
The puck was IN THE NET for three full seconds before the whistle blew.Auger and Larue another pair of incompetent refs.Totally disgraceful.Did you see the look in the refs face when Toronto told him he blew it? Defiant he was.

Two blown calls by the refs already.At least they are batting 1.000.Big E scores on Howard.Not a good start for sure.
