Stripes

I thought I had seen the ugliest jersey when Montreal did the stripes, I was wrong.

Ole, Ole, Ole ole ole ole.

Freakin' Nail Biter...

I have to admit Bert seemed less interested tonight. Take him off the top line for sure. I agree on Howard doing a pretty god job. Wings D seemed to step up too.

Doesn't this kind of knee on knee injury usually draw a suspension? Cross check so hard you break your stick on your opponents back...and then keep hitting him with it.

Supine

I kade the mistake of lying down on the couch to watch the game. I did well for the first half or so, I think. From what i remember... the game did seem to have an odd tempo to it. Looks like the team is still thinking the game instead of playing the game.

Helmer...whooo Hooooo...that kid has speed.

Bert should be on the second or third line.

And you prob can't afford what Babcock is smoking...

Tell Them...

E-mail or go thru contacts, tell the NHL what you think of their officials and the leagues soft stance on mistakes. What do you call a ref that graduated last in his class? Ref...

No Fix, No Conspiracy, just a horrible call

Given the fact that to date, there are more refs on the ice than ever, STILL cannot get consistency. Reminds me of a tee shirt one of my kids used to have, printed on the front is a picture of an official on his knees reaching in all directions trying to find the puck. In his left hand there is a red tipped cane and he is wearing sunglasses. This picture is painfully too true to point. It does remind me of my mother, she never knew my current medical statis. She would always ask me...Are you blind? Are you deaf? Are you outa your mind?

Remember article recently that actually related a ref with fixed games (NHL games). Supposedly was couple of years ago...I was thinking more recent, like, the SCPO's...

I posted link to the article, it's been since the season started.

The part that wanked me was the seemingly nasty attitude of the official. As if he knew he was busted and was lashing out. I did have to laugh though when all of the refs gathered behind the net and had a comittee meeting or as ome would call it, Mongolian cluster @#$%. I think I heard Mickey say "Toronto called to tell you your stupid".

So, between Ericssons goal and Brads disallowed goal we should have won. Oh ya, What's with Ericsson all of a sudden looking like a rookie? That's two goals against us in two games.

Bad call- So What

And you my friend...are so much less than that. Fini/End.

Lots of debate today about Shanny

OK... I had a long work day and had a couple of glasses of wine... I reread my post and my first thought was "This guys had a couple". And besides... my eyes are tired.

Lots of debate today about Shanny

We love you Shanny... However, if you had retired here(had been allowed to retire here) your number would most likely hang. Shanny's on-ice/off-ice contributions and work ethics and just being an all around nive guy, makes him a shoe in for the first year HHOF pick. The cameo he did in "Me, myself and Irene" was a hoot. Shanny's numbers speak for themselves, NOT to mention any of his off ice activities, which in whole really enhance his whole career as a star player that produced in the NHL, Olympics and World Cup competition plus contributions as a builder of the game.

I thought Quincey (with an e) was dead on this forum?

Oxymoron...(Colon) Campbell issue necessary suspensions. (That was most humorous)

Tue. 11/17/09 08:01 PM

Congrats to Shanny!!!

Absolutely... Shannys stats and numbers are awesome. Shanny will be in the HHOF as a player and a builder. I still believe he should have been offered more from the Wings and then retired from here... I will always consider Shanny a life long Wing no matter what. I don't care what is said, I couldn't care less... well not the last part... I guess I could care less about what is said... ;^)

Check his stats in teh srticle over on NHL.com, worth reading even if your not a Shanny fan.

Just as Mickey said:

This game has been an "Emotional roller coaster". Start calling Hank "Curly", don't forget to take your box score to Arby's and collect your FREE curly fries!

Nice insurance goal by Helmer... which reminds me, Helmer still needs a nick!

As expected, Ducks brought their goon squad up to speed, however, their goon squad didn't seem to have much umph...

Up and down, up and down... where's my tums?

Team Ranking based upon Goals For - - Goals Against Ratio and Season Outlook

When that third one popped up my neck went out(whiplash).

BRING ON THE DUCKS!!!

Ducks lost 3-2 in a SO with CBJ last night...sweetness. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE...

Sat. 11/14/09 09:57 AM

BRING ON THE DUCKS!!!

That's assuming your top line is producing to start with. Thank goodness the Wings had help from the other lines. I hope Homer doesn't forget to wear his Duck armor, as soon as the Ducks start losing the goon squad gets busier...

Fri. 11/13/09 07:02 PM

Thank you, Pierre

Oh my... Yes... Bad line changes was driving me crazy. I thought the boys had already learned heir lessons on line changes. They have been burned several times this season on that alone. Also, especially since the Wings have capitalized on that very subject themselves. Bad line changes provide a wonderful opportunity for scoring.

Leino...he's getting more confidence.

I couldn't agree more... well maybe, Canada needs more than 6 NHL terams for sure. More importantly.. now they can support more than 6. This could really help some of the struggling teams in the states. There's at least 5 teams in the U.S. that sre really struggling, and not just from poor economic times.

Howard really seemed to step up and help the Wings with their win. This is something that hasn't been there much this year. I never saw the Wings give up but I did see them try and stay with it and they did. Sure they grinded it out in there own end for a bit (quite a while) but came thru it, mostly because of Howard. 31 saves? I think. The Wings are still finding themselves and the more they play the better they seem to become. I'm not looking for the miracle team or the team to sweep more than 62 games, just good honest effort that I can cheer for and stick up for at work when they don't do so well...

We were laughing at Homers goal, he didn't even know he scored at first.. it was that fast. So he keeps trying to get the puck to the net. Sweet...

And what really can anyone say about Zetts goal? Sweetness, No room at all and he get one of those magic backhanders in (we yelled and I spilled my koolaid).

Even Kronners goal was icing on the cake. A no look bank off the glass and it in. Go figure...

Teams are starting to worry now, you can believe that. I keep hearing in the back of my mind the other teams going "rats...Detroit is coming alive".

I agree Nick... Helmer needs a nick(name). The Flash, the speedster, the something. I think if Helmer stays healthy we will be watching more wonderful things this season.

I almost forgot... Did you see Miller before the game? Fox had the camera on him in the locker room, boy... did he he look nervous. Who wouldn't be? Besides, now he can thumb his nose at his brother and say Ha Ha Ha biotch ... I'm playing with the Wings.

Wed. 11/11/09 10:26 PM

when?

Reminds me when Roy took a 9-zip spanking from the wings. Wasn't that the game Roy quit Montreal...Mick and Ken mentioned one of the Wings most recent blowout was in "06" against Coyotes won 9-2.

9 goals is amazing no matter what... I still can't get over Abbys second goal, holy cow, utterly sweet! Biscuit in the basket...
