Vesa Toskala

Until we give Howard 4 or 5 games in a row there is no way he can prove anything.

We are in a business of winning, the Wings simply dont have the patience to give that kind of chance to Howard.

So ?

That is why the Wings are shopping for a goalie, of course another vet.

The teams in the league who gave a chance to one of there young goalie, like the Thrasher with there new goalie (too lazy to search for his name ), like Steve Mason last season, like Rinne in Nashville etc..these teams had no expectation, therefore were willing to give those young goalies a real chance.

Some goalie grabbed there chance and made a name for themselve, so didnt.

Obviously Howard is still looking for that kind of chance.

Personally, I don't see how Howard could have possibly been tested when our Offense and Defense were pretty much 'OUT-TO-LUNCH'" in those few games....I don't think even Hasek could have helped us win through those "CLUNKERS"

Vesa Toskala

Toska is better than Howard. He's had some decent season's in the past. A change out of Hogtown might do him some good.

I'd rather see Howard step up and get the job done but he's never put together two good games in a row. Another choice might be to get Manny back; sure you don't want him in the playoffs but he does okay in the regular season.

Vesa Toskala

From The HockeyNews

"Internet rumors suggest Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Vesa Toskala is an option for the Red Wings, but given his poor performance thus far the notion of him going to the Wings or any other NHL team is laughable.

Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun summed up Toskala's situation nicely in his recent Sunday column, writing the only hope the Leafs have of moving the struggling Finn before the trade deadline would be to demote him and then place him on recall waivers - and even then it's a long shot a rival club would pick him up."

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.
