doesn't seem to be nearly as long as the hockey season which seems to play a month of regular games then 9 months of playoffs

The regular season is just fine...it is the playoffs that make for a long period of time...Yes, Fox Sports signs the checks for televising but really, are all those off days necessary? Games 1 and 2 play on tuesday and wednesday, off thursday and wrap it up on friday saturday and sunday in the first round with the next round starting 2 days after. They play like this all year long, why the delay in playoffs? And please, start the games at 7pm...8pm is just too late

BACK IN THE 50S THERE WAS OONLY 154 GAMES. And Sundays there was back to back double headers That made the season shorter.

Whatever happened to the day-nite dubleheaders? these used to be a staple before TV rating got involved. Bring them back and shorten the season

The season wouldn't begin and end in snow if teams would schedule doubleheaders, and make up for loss of revenue by charging more on those days. The playoffs could be shortened by eliminating off days.

How did you come up that number? Thats not the promblem it's to many teams in the playoffs, an to many series, an they are all seven games. thats the promblem.

The season needs to be cut to 150 games. Inter League play could continue but the schedule should drop 12 games. By doing that...the playoffs would start 2 weeks earlier..and the season would end the final week of October....ballplayers, fans, and TV would all be better accomodated!

To play a warm season game into November in the North is just plain crazy. Most things in moderation are good. Baseball into November is not moderation. It is greed.

Too looooong. Long for the days when sports did not overlap so much. Baseball in November and Hockey in June? Enough said.
