Matsui

Sure, you could be like Yooper and assume that any player over 26 years old is finished, or, being a legitmate contender like the Tigers are, go out and get a guy like Matsui, the kind of left hand hitter they need. Despite the way the year ended, we still are contenders given the starting rotation, so personally, I could care less how old a player is, as long as they can help us now. There was a player I advocated getting for the last 3 years only to be shot down on the forum by those saying he was "too old" and "on a downward spiral". That was Raul Ibanez.

DH. The Yanks aren't likely to bring him back. Posada will see more time at DH. Damon and Matsui will have to get used to playing for non Yankee money. Nady might be a better bargain, and Abreu is a better player.

Matsui

I'd give him 20 million for two years. At his age, he is twice the hitter of anybody we have on our team, outside of Big C.

DD will give him $42 million for 3 years before November ends.

Quite a ballgame tonight for Mr. Matsui. I wonder if this changes the odds of the Yankees bringing him back....if nothing else its probably upping his price a little this year if he hits the open market.

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.

If you find a problem, please tell us, and thanks in advance for your patience as we work to improve the forums for you.
