Putz
Look.But DON'T touch.
Putz
It would have to be VERY LOW COST and only if we lost Rodney and Lyon to free agency. In spite of connections, which I don't think mean much today, Putz has been good enough to warrant a look without strings attached just in case.
Putz as closer
No.
We already have injured relievers. Makes no since to bring in another injured reliever during tough economic times just to see that 'maybe' he still has it.
We either resign Rodney, resign Brandon Lyon (Can't sign both), or we live with what we have and Ryan Perry occupies the closer spot with Zumaya as set up man. Next season begins a transition process.
All I can say is start now: it will end quicker.
Putz
Mr Gage,I bet you can already visualize a few great columns about the prodigal son returning but unfortunately,I think it's too late to help the closer cause.
I see a J J Putz striding from bullpen to mound with that "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC blaring, him turning to watch some hard hit balls blowing the game wide open and then departing.Often.
And then to the DL.Again.
JJ Putz
He always closed well against the Tigers. Of course, they can't sign him until the Rodney situation is concluded.
JJ Putz as closer
JJ Putz has earned his $$ It would be nice to see the Trenton boy come home and play for the Tigers
