Eric Lacy is LAME
I've said for months that this guy is a no-talent hack. His writing is shallow; his observations amount to whatever he can get off the Internet or the press releases fed to him by sports information guys.
His stupid mistakes are downright embarrassing. A few weeks ago, following the Iowa game, Lacy wrote that Brian Linthicum and Blair White teamed up for a "hook and lateral." That's a mistake a fourth grader would make.
Today Eric really outdid himself with his stupid article about Michigan being bowl eligible if they beat Ohio State. (Note: That's like me saying I'm reconditioning my baseball glove for when I replace Derek Jeter in the Yanks' lineup. Ha!)
Anyhoo, Lacy seems to forget that even if a miracle happened, Michigan would still be 2-5 in the Big Ten, and lost to MSU on Oct. 3. So that gives MSU the edge. PLUS, he lists MSU as 6-6, assuming they will lose to PSU. The way PSU played vs. Indiana means the Spartans have a legitimate shot at knocking 'em off this coming Saturday. It is the height of carelessness to just pencil them in as 6-6.
Does anyone do proofreading, copy editing, or fact checking at the News? Or were those positions downsized out of existence so the corporate leviathan could maximize profits, product quality be damned?

Get a freakin' life, dude. There are a lot more important things to worry about than the Skunkbears!
Thanks, Blu and all vets
Thank you, Blu, MSUMick, and all other veterans for your sacrifice and service to our great country.
I, for one, do not take for granted what you've done for us, and am grateful this nation has been blessed with so many selfless individuals â€" people of integrity â€" such as you gentlemen.
Let's also remember to pray for the deceased at Fort Hood and their families. These are difficult days for our nation, our service men and women, and veterans.
The least we can do is show our appreciation for what service people and veterans are doing and have done. Veterans Day ought not to be "just another day off."
Mittens' gravesite
Will, Ph.D. will be laying flowers at the gravesite of his late, beloved cat "Mittens" at 10 a.m. in Dayton Memorial Gardens in Dayton, OH.
It's a great photo opportunity.
On another note, authorities still have not apprehended the possums that desecrated Mittens' corpse at her previous resting spot. Professor Will has been grief-stricken for three years now and has been unable to work or post on the forum. Please keep him in your prayers.
Those of you who are compassionate and would like to send donations to this shattered man are welcome to make checks out to the Mittens Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1336, Dayton, OH 45401.
Thank you, and have a blessed day.
KNOCK IT OFF!
Quit running it up the middle, Spartans! It didn't work the first 40 times; it won't work now!
Booty Smacker = zero credibility
Is that you, Maurice? May I remind you of your prior foolishness:

Michigan Football
Rich Rod is starting to get his players and by next year this team will be competing for a national title.
Get bigger and touch up the secondary and we are off toward that 12th national title.
Smacking Booty, Detroit, Michigan
BWA HA HA HA HA...LMFAO...LOL...ROTFL.....
Yeah, Michigan's gonna RUN THE TABLE! Watch out, Gators!
Just One of those Years...
Last year, the Spartans managed to win the close ones. This year, they're losing 'em (to CMU, ND & Iowa by 2, 3, and 2 pts., respectively).
The team still doesn't have quite enough talent to close the deal. We need more heat from the D-line and a better secondary, in particular.
A final regular season record of 7-5, plus a bowl victory, would still be a pretty decent season for the young green-and-white squad.
Anyone who thought this year's team would be 10-2 or 9-3 was delusional. I predicted 8-4, but 7-5 wouldn't surprise me.
The important thing is, Dantonio & staff have greatly upgraded the recruiting and built depth at all positions.
MSU will continue to get better, and be a contender for years to come.
Dantonio is not going to leave MSU for another offer, despite what some on this forum may wish. He's not a Saban type mercenary, and has stated that this will be his final destination.
I know last night's loss was a bitter heartbreaker, but take heart, Spartan fans: Basketball season starts in a few weeks, and our team is absolutely LOADED with talent! Can't wait!
Meanwhile, thanks to the hard working football players and their dedication. They can still make some noise in the next few weeks, including beating Penn State on Nov. 21.
Come Clean, Gageman
Who art thou? Toolman's brother? Dick Mc of Brownsburg, IN? Zip Goshboots? Will, Ph.D.?
And where dos thouest live? In the darkest depths of Mordor?
Props to Henne
...from a Spartan...He sure looked good last night. Gotta admit, U of M has a pretty impressive track record for supplying starting QBs to the NFL.
By the by, on another note, I'm just getting caught up on evaluating weekend stats....Didn't realize Wisconsin had 22 first downs to OSU's 8; outgained the Suckeyes on the ground, 118-97, and tallied 250 yards through the air, compared to a measly 87 for OSU.
Hard to believe WIS lost by 18 points. But it makes me suspect that OSU is not nearly as tough as they've been hyped to be.
I see Wisconsin disposing of Iowa this Saturday...Score prediction in a few days under another moniker.
Dunce of the East
...nee Priapist, nee Dick's Uncle Lloyd, nee Snooky Fupdaigle....Dude, are you reincarnated as Butchie Boy?
Not a zero sum game
Rich, be reasonable. Just because Michigan improves, doesn't mean Michigan State is going to be stagnant or decline. Dantonio is also upgrading the talent level in East Lansing. Ohio State and Penn State aren't going anywhere. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and others will almost always be solid competitors.
No sane or rational MSU fan ever thought Michigan was going to be wandering in the wilderness like Nebraska or other teams that had been longtime powerhouses, then lost their mojo. Michigan went through a bad 2008, but will be a conference title contender again as early as 2010, I believe. It will never go through a decades-long period of mediocrity like MSU has been through. But it will also never be as dominant as it was in the leather helmet era.
The days of Michigan going 10-2 or 11-1 every year are gone forever. There aren't as many scholarships to go around, there's more parity in the conference, and the best athletes tend to sign with the warmer weather schools.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Michigan won't win any national championships in the next 20 years. Neither will Michigan State. MAYBE OSU will, but even that is doubtful. They've gotten their heads handed to 'em on a platter the last few major bowl games they've played.
Anyhoo, I do predict MSU will start winning 50 percent of its games vs. U-M as we go forward. Don't expect any more of those 6 or 8 game winning streaks vs. MSU. The Spartans will be solid for years to come.
Stan Kwan
What the heck is an Asian guy doing as an NFL special teams coordinator? Asians & the NFL? What the...????
That's like a brother working as a NASCAR pit crew leader, or having a country boy from Iowa coaching the Nigerian track team. Talk about being out of your element!
Toolman = Blue-Aide Drinker
Glug-glug-glug...Dream on, TT. If your beloved Skunkbears could only get 30 yards rushing vs. MSU, which prior to 10/3 had been giving up chunks of yardage, I don't see the corn-n-blue gaining much yardage vs. the Hawkeyes.
Saturday night in Iowa City is inhospitable for visitors.
Two mediocre teams
Props to U-M for making a game of it, but let's face it: Both these teams are headed for a 7-5 or 6-6 season.
I had to laugh when I heard slappies phoning in to the 1270-AM sports talk station as I was driving through metro Detroit Friday, and they were predicting U-M would win 28-7 or 31-7. Memo to the Blue-aid drinkers: Two of U-M's wins were against bottom-feeders, and all of their games were at home prior to today. It only gets tougher as we move forward. I'm predicting a dominant Hawkeyes win a week from tonight. Welcome to the road, Tater.
I was sick when Forcier tied it with 2 seconds left, recalling the 3OT and OT heartbreakers of 2004 and 2005. But it was time for MSU to win an OT game, and this year's Wolverines team doesn't have half the talent of the 2004 or 2005 squads.
Thanks to Big Cee, Bob O, and other U-M fans who are graceful in defeat. I'm not going to gloat, because MSU still has problems. But it sure feels good to silence the insufferable Skunkbear drive-bys who cluttered up this forum for the past week. Get back in the woodwork where you belong, cockroaches!
Cyclotron's Proxy
I can't get my Safari browser to work...What gives?
Anyhoo, here's my take: It's obviously a much lower scoring game than we thought it would be, perhaps because of the drizzle & gusts of wind.
MSU has dominated in time of possession and Cousins has completed 13-16, yet the Spartans are only up by 4. This concerns me greatly, as Michigan has shown itself to be a better second half team.
This is great entertainment, and win or lose, I've got too much going on in my life to obsess over this tilt.
Memo to Cousins: USE YOUR TIGHT ENDS MORE!
GO GREEN! Go Tigers! Go Lions!
Keep out of jail.
