Why I want U of Mum to go 0-forever....
Anybody see U of Mum hotshot Michael Shaw elbow the OSU team manager in the tunnel on his way out to the field? Precious. It was his best shot of the day. He carried 7 times for 7 yards. Another in a long line of punk lineage. I preferred "Bike Hurt" doing his taunting dance to the Buckeyes who he went "0'fer" against in his career.
Get out the golf clubs boys and work on your hubris. It's not really working anymore is it?

Great job on the contest. I never found my rhythm this season. We can all be thankful that Fox was half way paying attention at the start concentrating 99% on his "investment board"(ahem) or it could have turned out different. He rallied back from a comatose state to end up one down. Impressive.

I get a kick out of these talking heads and the hyping of "The Force." "He led them out of the gate fast to 4-0 and then it appears he hit the freshman wall!!!" Uh no. That would be he ran into an opponent with a PULSE!!! I have never seen a QB run along and forget to bring the ball like he does. If he plays next year at A2 expect the same. He has some talent no question. But he does some really stupid stuff with the ball. Scripps Ranch hairy high school stuff. Well Tiny Tate got the wake up call. You're not in SoCal anymore Alice. It's Big Boy Big 10 football and by the way you've just led the shock troops to 1-7. Deal!!
Time after time yesterday they'd talk about Meeeeeeechigan with the #1 "O" in the Big 10. These guys get paid for this. Did any of these geniuses bother to look up or mention than over 100 of A2's 300+ points came against Delaware State & Eastern Michigan?? Uh no. Meeeechigan with the #1 "O" followed by MSU with 3 points less. Now since MSU had 14 yesterday and U of Mum 10 I guess MSU is the #1 "O" in the league? Big Whoop. They're 6-6 and need a ton of work. As for Meeeeechigan and the chuck and duck? Good luck.

I like Cousins just fine (he only leads the league in passing) but Nichol has talent. He seems driven (as does Cousins). While I know it was mop up time did you notice how Nichol effortlessly bought time with his mobility on the TD pass to Keshawn (2-more years to go. I think he's gonna' be real good)? Cousins is not a real threat with the run. I like the dual threat dealio. Maybe it will be a moot point after these BIG OL who are redshirting get into the fray next year.
All I'm saying is that you haven't heard the last from Nichol and I'm very happy he's on board.

Oh well. No surprise there. The M-eltdown usually happens earlier and that's what's thrown me. I'm sure he's locked in a broom closet somewhere repeating "That Tate can play!!!" over and over and over and over......Come back Toolman. Devon Gardner will be next years Blu-ade May Heisman hopeful as the "run the table" posts interspersed with the NC talk will signal the onset of another upcoming A2 football year. Like the swallows of Capistrano it happens every year. Until then entertain yourself with the tape of the Delaware State game. You guys were great.

...and the next time someone on the MSU "D" recognizes it will be the 1st. If this team goes to a bowl game the opposition will be sure to install this guaranteed play for a score.
This season has been a step back and a disappointment. Ike and others have pointed out that last year stuff seemed to go right and then this year not the case. It happens. The "D" is really just a mess. I noticed yesterday when Royster would go to turn the corner on a toss sweep or direct handoff no one took away the outside and turned the play in. MSU gives up the edge time and time again and it is simply fundamentally unsound football. MD earned his stripes as a DC. I'm confused.
I saw some good thing from Tyler Hoover at DE last night. It was the 1st time I've seen him do anything except stand there in his uniform. Big kid.
I suppose the silver lining from this disaster was the road win at Purdue, come from behind style, that allows these guys 15 extra practices.
I don't think it's cast in stone that Cousins comes back as #1. I get the distinct impression from his body language that Nichol has winning that position in his sight come next fall. Don't forget Maxwell will also be in the picture.
Meanwhile I believe MSU has about 5-schollies left. An impressive group was there yesterday to be impressed how badly they're needed.
Bring on the "Tidy Bowl" and those 15 extra practices.

...it was while watching the buckets that Vitale gave the word on the passing of Chris' bride. That was a shot to the gut. Her fight with evil breast cancer was highly publicized and every time I saw Chris doing a game I wondered how she was doing. He, by all accounts, was a great support. Many props. This hit the dimmer switch on my pre-holiday glee. My deep condolences go out to the family. I hope they can make the most of the coming holidays in this dark time.

For those of you buying into the hype that MSU will cake walk to a Big 10 Title this year I hope you saw Ohio State last night. Very good team. Much balance. Good size and strong in the backcourt where it all starts. I say MSU won't sweep them (if they play twice). They gave UNC the NC ALL they wanted after a slow start.

No redshirt on GREAT BIG Will Campbell this year. He has 3-years to show what a phenom he is. I'm skeptical.

Visions of '69? I can see it. Likely? No. However it's doable. OSU will have to come in flat. A2 needs to jump on them early and see their seniors out. It's not entirely hopeless.

Saw your mention of Earle Bruce and his gambling "issue." An old Buckeye OL was a former biz associate and neighbor of mine on Cape Cod. His name was Doug Mackey and he played later with the New Jersey Generals. I asked him about Schlichter and if the Coaches ever knew of his penchant for the fast buck. He said, "hell, Earle Bruce used to to take Art to the trotters with him."

Everybody laughed about MSU playing Montana State. They are 7-3. CMU who beat MSU is going to win the MAC. Your sacrificial lamb Eastern in the same league couldn't beat my high school team and we're all 60. Both beat Western. You beat Indiana, your cellar dwelling mates in OVERTIME (at yer place..where else). State beat bowl bound NW. State beat Purdue. How'd you do with the Boils (at yer place....where else)? Both lost to Cheese and Iowa. State lost a heartbreaker to ND at their place you beat them (at yer place ..where else) on the last play of the game.
To rave about your "O" when you score one third of your points on 2-corpses is delusional if nothing else.
