Lynn's Idiotic Article

Laughing? Buahah! Yes, but at YOU, for thinking Carr's teams had more problems on the field and in recruiting! Do some research on RR's all-time record! Then try to say the same thing again. I do surely love a good delusional UM fan.

Lynn's Idiotic Article

Absolutely! I agree with you. Yes, mistakes have been made in play calling, etc. And while I loved Lloyd, his program was severely lacking on the field, and in recruiting.

I still believe that Michigan will regain its composure and standing in Football History in the next year or two, and that we WILL be a team to be reckoned with once everything and everyone is in place to do so. People may be laughing right now, which admittedly hurts a lot! They won't be laughing for long. We MUST have patience with our coaches and our team! All of this crap that people are talking is only serving to undermine our teams, and coaches, morale! Stop it! Let's give them our support, understanding, and patience to make our program THE winningest team EVER!

GO BLUE!

Defenseless - TWO YEARS NOW!!!

Could somebody tell the UM Defenseless crew that there are FOUR DOWNS in a series instead of TWO!

Game after Game they give two out of four good plays and then fall asleep and BAM Big Play! The opposition only needs ONE asleep at the defense to get a TD and in every friggin Game that's exactly whats happened for TWO YEARS!

Shame on the Defense Coach who got run out of town at Syracuse and Shame on Rich Rod for not seeing how pathetic this Defense performance is for TWO Years running and getting worse not better.

TATE is a Freshman and plays like it and seems to run out of gas in the second half over and over and whats wrong with play action and a little Tom Brady UM Pro Style - Tate has neither the Body Frame or maturity/wisdom to do it at this level of play. The rest of the offense must be sick considering how they have busted butt to lose another due to the leaking defense game after game.

Simply sickening week after week and now we have to face the best two teams in the Big Ten! Rich Rod has to Go or at least FIRE the Defense Coaches since that's obviously his weakness! How sick is it to look at the Top 25 and see programs like Cincy blow away the UM program and most likely no bowl game except if we get lucky and we end up at Little Caesars $5 Pizza Bowl. YUCK!

Lynn's Idiotic Article

Lynn,

Stick to the tigers and the team you actually follow on a regular basis. Yes Michigan football is the winningest program in college football history but the last years of Llyod Carr's tenure were far from perfect. The loss to Ap State or the destruction of Michigan at the hand of Oregon or any game on the West Coast all demonstrate that Michigan was far from the super powerhouse we proclaimed to be. Anyone who actually witnessed or followed the team, which lynn i can tell you simply have a passing fancy, against USC in the Rose Bowl in 2006 watched a team with fairly good talent get dismantled by superior talent and coaching.

The days of Bo when your talent and execution will beat your opponent even if they know what you are going to do are long gone. Because of scholarship limits, teams are on a level playing field and Michigan can't hoard talent.

You say the cupboard wasn't bare when Llyod left, but you don't mention any names on defense that are any good that Llyod recruited. Outside of Brandon Gramn and Donovan Warren Michigan has no elite talent on defense NOR has any elite talent left in the coaching transition. The previous coaching staffs inability to recruit top notch safeties, cornerbacks, and linebackers have put this team in the hole. What talent Lynn are you referring to? This isn't some game where you can sound off some numbers from the minor leagues and claim to say he's the next greatest thing.

I love llyod carr and all the class he represented. But in his last years he missed out on the TOP talent in the state. Ronald Johnson and Nick Perry are STARRING for USC at the moment and they would be players that would make this transition mute. Michigan doesn't have enough talent on D nor did lloyd leave much when he left.

Addtionaly, your claim that Rich Rod was waiting for his QB and now he has him is ridiculous. He has 2 TRUE FRESHMAN Qb's, hardly a recipee for sucess anywhere! The reason why there haven't been many sucessful FRESHMEN Qb's is because its rare and difficult. The last FRESHMEN QB to be successful at Michigan, Chad Henne, had 3 receivers that are all now playing on Sunday, Michigan's all time leading rusher, and the freaking #1 pick in the draft to help protect him.

The cupboard wasn't completely bare, but it certainly wasn't full. And your lack of showing me any player that lloyd left on defense makes me think less of you Lynn. I thought a lot of you and have enjoyed reading your columns good and bad about the teams I follow. But don't publish this crap and expect me to buy in.

Michigan fans, calm down! Yes, this sucks. But this is year 2 of this process. Do you think the offense or defense under a lloyd carr team with the same players would be much better? Give this man a chance to coach and bring in his players. 80 percent of this team are freshmen or sophomores! That's not Rich Rod's doing, that's the fact of life when Lloyd defensive recruits haven't panned out for the last 3 years.

Lynn do us all a favor. Go watch the Arizona fall league and discuss what Dave D is gonna do next. Don't waste your or my time on things you don't understand.

Seriously

What did you expect from this clown. Let's look at his incredible resume. 3 Big East titles? Weren't there 7 teams in the Big East, and three of those were Conference USA crossovers that were new to the "league". 6 Conference games, what a joke. He rode on the back of Pat White and a crappy non-conference schedule. One year WVA won the Big East Title with a 4-2 record. Are you kidding? No wonder WVA won 10 games every year and went to a bowl. By the way their biggest bowl win came against 7th ranked Georgia. I guess that would seem significant to Michigan fans because that is a higher rank than the team U-M beat on their way to the 1997 National Championship Writer's Poll Title, a game that finally forced the BCS system on everyone. The real Bowl Alliance Championship game revealed Nebraska as the National Champion. Dickie has no history of defensive teams, a requirement for all Big Ten Champions. Disciplined coach? The team fumbles the ball every fourth drive. They play like a conflicted team. They are getting mixed messages, they are confused. This regime will set the Michigan program back 10 years, you watch. And you better hope that Notre Dame doesn't scoop up Brian Kelly because he is your last chance of getting back to above mediocrity football.

Another disasterous season for UM

It can't get any worse if Mo were to come back.

Our opponents have the Mo and we have Larry and Curly on defense.

Sat. 11/07/09 11:01 PM

Bill Martin should be ashamed

Excuses, excuses, and more excuses.

We're staring at back-to-back losing seasons under Rich Rodriquez.

We had not lost to a MAC team until Rich Rodriquez.

We had not had a losing season in 40 years until Rich Rodriquez.

We had been to 33 straight bowls until Rich Rodriquez.

Good coaches find a way to win with the talent they have and they don't make excuses or complain about what they have unless you're Rich Rodriquez.

Didn't Rich Rodriquez recruit many of the sophomores that are currently on the team?

I waited a long time to become a season ticket holder and now I can't believe what a terrible situation we are in. Our Head Coach is absolutely TERRIBLE.

Stop the losing and hire a Head Coach who'll find a way to win with the talent that is there and recruit the talent that is needed to build.

When Lloyd Carr left we had beat Penn State 9 straight times. Now we've been blown out two straight seasons.

Purdue has beat us two years in a row.

Illinois has beat us two years in a row.

Michigan State has beat us two years in a row.

Ohio State will beat us two years in a row under Rich Rodriquez.

He looks and sounds as clueless as John L. Smith was a Michigan State. Look at the similarities. Terrible special teams and horrid defense. Quarterbacks that couldn't stay healthy and teams that implode.

If Bill Martin does not pull the trigger maybe the new AD will make it his first priority.

This is absolutely crazy and the excuses drive me nuts.

Good bye Rich Rodriquez.

Bill Martin should be ashamed

Thanks Bill. You've destroyed 40 years of winning tradition to satisy your ego....well done. The hiring of RR has sent this program back at least 5-7 years. If it doesn't work out next year and RR is fired it will take another three years to clean up this debacle. I can already hear the excuses for next years losing season after playing the prized QB recruit from Inkster and saying its freshmen mistakes. So another year is wasted. We could've had an innovative coach that run a pro-style offense and had Ryan Mallet at QB... enough said. Carr would have this team at 9-3.

Michigan demise

First and foremost, I am a Spartan. However, I am also a Michiganian who did some grad school at Michigan. I love that Michigan is down, however, I am pained by how down. This is a ridiculous situation which I feel has been perpetrated by Lloyd Carr. Carr took Michigan's prime recruiting classes and did NOTHING with them!!!!! Sure he won a partial national championship, yet he should have done it multiple times, or at least competed for one!!! People were calling for his ouster, and rightfully so, for much of his tenure. When he finally "stepped down" the Michigan leadership looked to him for his choice for successor. He HATES Les Miles, and for why I have no idea. WHO CARES WHAT LLOYD WANTS!!!!! He is most likely responsible for the players that Rich Rod has been stuck with today. He has short changed Michigan's program for so long and they care what he thinks?!?!?! Come on Michigan, do it right!!!! Kick Carr to the side of the road and rise up again to make the state of Michigan proud!!!! Hire Les Miles ,a Michigan man, and let Lloyd fade into the sunset.....Knowing that he blew Bo's work of making Michigan into a nationl power!!!!!

Please fire Rich Rod.com

Major errors from Rod:

Robinson as defensive coordinator? Has he been good any where?

No bowl two years in a row? Worst in Michigan History. And we are paying how many millions?

Poor play calling. - Iowa, Michigan State? Illinois - Four runs up the middle - What is Bo back from the grave?

Why not play Denard Robinson?

Team is not ready.

Turnover margin largest in the country.

Michigan recruits itself. Most kids want to play in that stadium.

We need a real coach.

Michigan Blows 2 TD Lead

It's time to end the Rich Rodriquez error.

If 2nd year turn arounds are common for him and his system, I'm not seeing it. Shouldn't the team be performing better?

MSU went through a similar failed experiment with John L. Smith. It's painfully obvious this isn't going to work. Give him a chance I've been saying until last Saturday. Let's look at the facts:

He took over a team that beat Florida.

Michigan will now miss a bowl for the second year in a row.

MSU, Penn State, Illini, Purdue, and Ohio State will beat us two straight years under his leadership.

Michigan continues to turn the ball over.

The defense is worse than last year.

Special teams continue to kill us.

Turnovers continue to kill us.

What are we to expect next year? 6 & 6 would be an improvement over 5 & 7; however, this is Michigan.

Time to cut our losses and get the Coach we should have gotten in the first place...Brian Kelly...if we don't get him, Notre Dame will and we will regret it for years to come.

I tried to be patient with the change, but this isn't getting any better.

Michigan needs to admit this hire was a mistake and move on.

The Continuing Pathology of Rich Rod

I encourage any alumnus to forego donating to the University until Rodriguez is fired. The coaching ineptitude on both sides of the ball is astounding. Rodriguez's system is too one-dimensional and will not work in the Big Ten, particularly in November.

In my opinion, it is worth the short term pain to replace Rodriguez with a competent coach (one who can speak coherently, recruit well and employ competent assistants). At least then we will halt the slide.

Wolverines

The last play of this game perfectful exemplified the circus that has become Univeristy Of Michigan football. The people who make the decisions need to start with an overhaul and restore the proudest program in the history of college sports TO!!day!

Another disasterous season for UM

After a long tradition of winning football at UM and a perennial contender in the top 25 national rankings, we are left with another losing season and not much hope for improvement.

Ok, it's Monday morning quarterbacking, but Rich Rodriguez is not working out and its time for him to pack his bags.

This is going to severely hurt the recruiting efforts. Maybe it's time to bring back Gary Moeller, at least until UM can find an appropriate alumni to be head coach. Moeller won 75% of his games at UM and was one of the few winning coaches with the Lions.

Let's restore the proud tradition at UM
