Watch for hunters blaming wolf

All of the hunters I know that hunt in the U.P. think it is awesome to have wolves in our state. It is a thrill to hear them or see a track. The only complaining I've heard or seen about wolves in MI has come from people who have lost pets or livestock to wolves. I have heard complaints from U.P. locals about fishers killing off small game and songbirds. The fisher is the only effective predator of the porcupine, so they serve a purpose. I have seen several fishers over the years, many pine martens and coyotes, but no wolves yet. Maybe this year.

Watch for hunters blaming wolf

It's only a matter of time before deer hunters start blaming the wolves for their inability to find deer. The article points out that the wolves are not reducing the herd much. But you'll soon see hunters calling for the right to exterminate wolves again, because deer are less easy to hunt now.

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.

If you find a problem, please tell us, and thanks in advance for your patience as we work to improve the forums for you.
