Are you kidding me? Illegal for teachers to strike in Michigan? GARBAGGE WITH Capitol Letters. Teachers in this state are protected because of their unions. They are baby'd and spoiled. Let the teachers get the same health care benefits that state employees receive! They will never agree to it because then they will have to pay co-pays-deductibles-part of their premiums and more-but-most importantly-cannot receive tens of thousands of dollars in early out bennies like forty to sixty thousand dollars and then get to be hired a consultants for money in addition to their pensions. Anyway-Teachers are important but not immune to economioc realiries!

Yo Geek-I could not agree more. These professors have never been connected to the real world. If they had half a brain they would realize Michign has the highest unemployment rate in the US and they want more money and now have the insanity to strike. Let's see-they do not get paid-students who borrow through the roof do not get their education. Hmmmmm-fire all their arrogant behinds and replace them and their union with people with common sense and possess the brains to realize that everyone is sacrficing financially and they are no exception!

What I mean Geek is that Universities are insulated from the rest of America. Universities need to sacrifice MONEY so that future students are not saddled with debts for decades after they grqaduate! Not difficult to comprehend.

OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!! can someone tell me in these economic times how much oakland U has cut back in salaraies, benefits, expenses? I'll bet the farm it is no where near 9%. OAKLAND U"S BOARD ISOUT OF CONTROL!!!!! Educators who do not live in our world. They teach fantasy-not reality. As a Michigan citizen I would love to see this on the ballot.

This is ridiculous. The teachers have to pay to work a job (supplies and now this!)
