Free masters Degree for Teaching in the inner city

Having spent a generation dealing with this type of teaching milieu, it is a most needed and noble endeavor. However, the real issues are: 1- the classroom control skills of the student teachers. 2- the personal safety of the young teachers at all times and; 3- the amount of control the School Administration has over the school.

Teachers today have much less control over their classrooms because the students have so many "rights". In a school district like Detroit, where students graduate because they attend a class/NOT learn an education, I'd say the average student teacher wouldn't last a year. In my experience the average teacher bailed-out after 1 semester.

Best Wishes/I'm with you in Spirit but our State Laws need to Empower Teachers/Administrators again if we are to have Safe Schools.

Engineer helps son learn math by improving the textbook method

Great job. All Michigan students need more caring parents to push the State Board of Education and their local School Boards to examine the lack of common sense in our Graduation Requirements and teaching methodologies.

For example, the Requirement that All students should learn Algebra II in order to graduate from high school is Almost as Bad as Obama's Free Health Care for Aliens. Think about it:

Less than 5% of All jobs need Alg. II to perform. Also, I haven't found a student in 30 years who could properly make change. Teaching students how to properly manage a bank account, utilize a credit, buy a house and appliances are NOT required when Everyone in our Society needs to know that information. Why Not?

A: Because the pin heads who decide our children's curriculum assume Every child should go to College instead of helping Every Child to learn an education that will enable them to perform the basic economic and social functions of our culture.

Take an example from this wise engineer who truly devised a method to Help children learn mathematics instead of ASSUMMING the School was teaching his son mathematics and letting him fail where he Now Suceeds.

Corruption in DPS Land Acquisitions

Q: Why do we bother to identify the corruption when the Police will corrupt the evidence and the Prosecutor will NOT prosecute the guilty?

For example, Mr. Bobb has already identified 380 fictitious DPS employees being paid over $10 Million dollars per year, and NONE of them have been Arrested or Prosecuted.

Q: Why bother identifying the criminals in Detroit when the Authorities Won't Prosecute the Guilty?

Prophecy: Just watch this "dog and pony show" play out and then be ignored by both the DPD and the Prosecutors Office and the Detroit city Council. It happens over and over again.

That's Why Detroit is #1 in Crime Nationwide. Disgusting.

Detroit School Bond Proposal Question?

Q: Who would be so stupid as to vote for a $50 MIllion dollar Bond proposal in Detroit when, after Mr. Bobb identified 380 fictitious employees stealing over $10,000,000.00 per year, NO Arrests have been made?

Even Forest knew the answer to not perpetuating a criminal acitivity---"stupid is as stupid does." And voting to give DPS MORE money when NO ONE is arrested for stealing over $10 Million dollars per year is STUPID.

Union Negotiations with Detroit

FACT: Detroit is on the verge of economic collapse.

FACT: Detroit has 3 X's the number of workers on the payroll as other comparably sized American cities to do the same jobs.

FACT: The Longer the Union drags it feet and plays "poor little me" the higher the number of workers becomes that the city will have to layoff in order to Survive.

FACT: An examination of Detroit's labor contracts exemplifies the reasons the UAW is now a small fraction of the membership it once was----too many benefits and too little work for too much money.

FACT: In a Recession, it's the people with Common Sense that Survive/ NOT the Greedy.

Wise Up before you have NO jobs to argue about.

DPS Want to Stop Mr. Bobb

It's no wonder to me that the DPS Board wants to stop the man who's quantified the crimes and criminals that have been bleeding Detroit's Schools into a $260,000,000 deficit.

Just because Everything he has done either points out the guilty and/or reduces the corruption, it is certainly clear to me that Mr. Bobb needs to be stopped before the whole Truth is told and the Detroit School Board has to own it's own corruption and/or blindness to it for decades.

If the DPS is going to eliminate crime and on-going corruption

in its schools, I'd suggest investigating and comparing a list of "Detroit Public Schools 380 Imaginary Employees" with business or family ties to School Board Members. When the Board Votes to Stop the CURE, someone on the Board is making a buck off the Disease and/or protecting the diseased and don't want the CURE to continue.

WISE UP DETROIT and RECALL the Board Members who Vote Against Improving Detroit Schools.

Swine Flu Closes All Schools

This flu is a variant of the same flu that killed millions of people worldwide in the 1918 pandemic. What amazes me is that we live in a world where it's not PC to mention GOD in public but we Immediately FEAR the possibility of catching the flue and close All the schools in a big district with even the Possibility of 1 case of Swine Flu.

Next I'll be reading that people are reading the Bible in public or praying go GOD, instead of just believing B.O. has promised to buy us a cure.

I Agree

Good point. Bully was rewarded by Kwami with a big raise just prior to her retirement and covered his criminal activities in a loyal and consistent manner. Her reward should be prosecution and salary increases. The Detroit City Council is the reason it will NOT happen.

The Detroit City Council's long history of ignoring obvious crime, mismanaging city funds, and being a major reason why Detroit is dying economically and ethically, is most worthy of Federal Investigation and Prosecution so Detroit can have a positive future. To allow this ongoing criminal conspiracy [the Detroit City Council] to continue to mismanage/corrupt a once great city, destroys both any reason for any business to move to Detroit and eliminates any Hope the decent working, GOD fearing people may still have.

DPS Staff Reductions

900 peoples jobs being eliminated because tens of thousands of students have left the school system over the past number of years demonstrates the application of common sense to DPS's problems. WHY weren't dramatic reductions in Staff and Administration made by previous School Administrators? WHO is responsible for the $300,000,000 worth of debt? WHY Aren't we reading about Prosecuting those Responsible? Why aren't the Members of the Detroit School Board being investigated? Why isn't the Detroit City Council investigated and prosecuted "for the good of the people"? Mr. Bobb seems to be the only responsible person to be placed in a position of responsibility for Detroit Schools in the past 30 or more years. If DPS is to have any positive future it will be accomplished by people like Mr. Bobb eliminating the crooks and incompetents, which the Union normally protects, and prosecuting those responsible is just the Right thing to do.

Requirements for Schools Special Funding

Whomever made up the funding requirements didn't want poor inner city schools to receive any of the money, Jennifer. "An 80% graduation rate and 80% seeking post secondary education within 6 months of graduation." or the money has to be returned. That's really imaginative. If Coleman was still around he would have been hollering racism before you could even announce your special school awards. On the other hand "whitey" has pretty much left Detroit and there goes his best argument as to who Caused all Detroit's problems. Q: Who can we blame now? A: Jennifer. Just for the record. 90% of All jobs require a 5 grade education or less to perform.[dept. of Labor statistic] WE don't need Everyone to go to college unless we intend to "underemploy" the population. What we need are students EARNING/not being given an Education including those practical skills necessary to Hold a job and make a living. More common sense and less rocket science for the average worker please. Wise up.

Bye Bye Bobby?

How can Mr. Bobb complete his job of accounting for the losses, eliminate the millions of dollars in yearly graft and corruption in the DPS and run for Mayor of San Francisco in 2010?

The ongoing criminal enterprise we refer to as the Detroit Public Schools, is just like the rest of Detroit and needs lots of accounting, and prosecutions to raise the quality of education for All of its people and this will take more time than an year or so to accomplish. As long as Detroit can't even run an Honest Crime Lab or properly account for the revenues from its own parking meters, Detroit must have men with the spirits of the muckrakers and vigilantes to root All the crooks that are presently on our payrolls/not just make a good start and leave for higher political gain. A safe and quality DPS will only occur in years to come if Bobb's job is completed. When Detroit is no longer our nations MOST Dangerous [and Corrupt] City.
