Iverson - Hall of Shame - THE ANSWER
The beat just goes on for this selfish clown... ESPN just announced that the NY Knicks just declined on offering iverson a contract/offer... Best decision that coach & gm have made all season probably! Also did I forget to mention the grizz are actually pulling together and just got another win tonight without the services of Mr. I Must Start Over Anybody, HA!!!!!
Our Problems
How can we realistically expect kwame to score inside when he can't catch the freckin ball... With that said it's blame to go around on both sides... The guards don't look to pass enough and the forwards offensively competent/confident (save CV) to finish the deal when dished to... What a strange and ugly predicament to have on our hands!
Pistons Guards
You better believe it Team Gone, good passing (even at the youth baskeball camp level) is worth it's weight in gold! Especially against a zone defense when you make the opponent keep shifting and recovering sooner or later they'll give up a good shot. Indeed there is a spot in this league for Stuckey, just off the strength that he can get to the rack with authority. However if he wants his career to have any type of longevity he's got to get that outside shot together. Right now it looks like he's rushing it as I've observed he often seems in way to big of a hurry offensively. This is understood when the shot clock is ticking down or in the 4th... Besides that it doesn't seem like the game has slowed down for him yet (thus the reason he doesn't find others open for dimes to often), his hoops IQ and learning curve has got to speed up VERY soon. By the way when our forwards are stinking it up offensively anyway I say why not throw Wilcox and Summers into the fray to see what they've got to offer.
assists, depth
"Especially with the way he yells, "HEY!!!" almost every time he attempts to finish at the rack. Anybody else notice this annoying (to me, anyway) tendency?"
Yes I have noticed that out of Stuckey, LMA0!
chicago vs la
Is it just me or does it make some of you all feel better seeing the bulls get mopped up to similar to how our Pistons did by the world champs...?
NIKE Gives Affalo Trillion Dollar Shoe Deal
LMA0... I do NOT HARDLY miss Delfino or Amir Johnson, I wish them all the best but I really and truly don't miss them... I'll take young Jonas Jerebko ALL DAY over amir "a foul per minute" johnson. By the way we gave AJ a good 4 years to develop, what the he11 are you talking about man... He's not some kid we just drafted last year or something, get over yourself dude! Not to mention did you notice how FAST the bucks got rid of johnson too once they got hakim warwick on board. Even with the starters minutes he received last year he didn't develop into what we hoped against hope for. He severely lacked any perimeter skills for an young dude his size, meanwhile Jonas is his same height, can dribble, hit jumpers, works just as hard (if not harder), and defends some of the best in the game without fouling out in the 1st qtr like amir used to. Don't blame amir's lack of development all on the organization, he had his chances and did NOT capatilize... He could learn something from guys that did take advantage of their chances like Afflalo & Bynum, seriously!

What's up Sportsfan? Many of us hear exactly what you're saying and you have valid claims against full time hard core bashers like sissy & dbed... However you went WAY overboard with the forum cop routine, it was annoying and unnecessary!!! Pretty much even when anyone said something not so flattering about our Pistons no matter how true or credible it was you acted as if they committed a felony!!! Bottom line when you are that non-objective and biased like that you aren't really any better than the posters you're battling against (i.e. sissy & dbed)... As strange as it may sound even sissy & dbed have some valid points every blue moon, just a thought fellow Pistons fan.
Pistons Guards
Nice post Team Gone, you make some very good & strong points that can't be denied. I said weeks ago and wasn't kidding although I'm sure many just felt I was on the Rip bandwagon, but Rip really is the best passer on the team by a longshot! I mean right now our guards make ole Rip look like magic or stockton, LOL!!!
It may sound kind of elementary or remedial but it may be necessary with the type of guards we have. When I was younger playing basketball some basketball camp coaches made it a rule the ball had to be passed/moved around at least 3 or 4 times before a shot was taken... Even if you made the shot without passing it a few times first in half court offense the coach had the right to negate the point for his own squad. While at camp my team sucked so I vehemently HATED that rule because I only had 1 other teammate that could play besides myself. However even back then I understood what it was meant for, and now as a grown man I overstand it even more! Perhaps if coach kue implemented a rule like this for Stuckey & Bynum we'd maybe have a few more assists around here... GO PISTONS!
Lebron needs to SHUT UP ALREADY!!!
WELL DONE Jason Whitlock, he got this one right all the way... I'm basically not even really mad at Lebron, I just think he's young and doesn't really know what the F he's talking about sometimes. Besides that he is actually more mature than expected for his age and level of success, but he does show his age and ignorance at times... Enjoy...
"10. Like most young people, and like all young people with money, LeBron James doesn't think the axiom "two ears and one mouth" applies to him.
Everyone, but especially everyone under the age of 40, needs to do twice as much listening as talking. Our creator did not make a mistake giving us two eyes, two nostrils, two hands, two ears and one mouth.
You get farther in life observing than you do offering observations.
In the past 10 days, King James has stated that he wants to retire Michael Jordan's number and perhaps try his hand at NFL tight end.
I mean this respectfully: Shut the hell up, LeBron.
Jordan won three titles before he gambled on (pun intended) a baseball career. Yes, Deion Sanders dabbled in baseball when he wasn't playing his other non-contact sport, football cover corner.
But football can break a man. It destroyed Bo Jackson's hip, ruining what could've been one of the all-time great baseball careers.
I suspect LeBron knows this and was just running his mouth when he suggested he'd like to give the NFL a try. In his excitement to talk about anything other than the Browns' failure, Cleveland coach Eric Mangini quickly announced he'd welcome LeBron running seam routes for the Browns.
It's too bad Cavaliers coach Mike Brown doesn't have the necessary authority to tell James to spend his free time fantasizing about developing a consistent low-post game rather than feeding the media quotes about silly NFL dreams and Jordan's jersey number.
He's an incomplete, title-less basketball player who wants to possibly experiment with football. He's immature and shallow.
His argument that Jordan's number should be retired across the NBA solely because Jordan is the game's greatest player is a peek at how little depth James has.
Major League Baseball didn't retire Babe Ruth's or Willie Mays' or Hank Aaron's numbers. MLB retired Jackie Robinson's number out of respect for his overall impact on the game and society. Robinson is not the greatest baseball player of all time. He is arguably the most important baseball player of all time.
Jordan is the best basketball player. I'll give him that. And I won't deny his amazing impact on the game. But Jordan's impact hasn't been totally positive.
During his Hall of Fame induction speech -- an address I still defend -- Jordan accidently explained his basketball legacy when he said you can't spell win without the letter "I."
That's Jordan's legacy. Magic Johnson and Larry Bird redefined "team basketball." They took the court trying to orchestrate the perfect game. Michael Jordan took the court trying to be the perfect player.
It amazes me how few people notice that since the end of the Magic-Bird era there hasn't been one player we can say reminds us of Bird and Johnson. Not one.
Every three or four years there's a new Michael Jordan. Kobe Bryant has perfected a Jordan imitation. Dwyane Wade does a fine impersonation, too.
You can say that everyone wants to be like Mike. But maybe Johnson and Bird are more difficult to duplicate, maybe they're the true twice-in-a-lifetime players. A million boxers have tried to be the next Muhammad Ali, but none has come close.
How come everyone from Allen Iverson to Carmelo Anthony to Kevin Durant can do five minutes of Michael Jordan?
And here we are 40 years after he retired and Dwight Howard is the first NBA player to give us a glimpse of a Bill Russell impersonation. (OK, Hakeem Olajuwon could do Russell from time to time. But that's two players in 40 years.)
Wow. I know I went a lot of different directions with this Truth. But I had to get that off my chest."
Why Isn't Gordan In at the End?
"He played awful defense yesterday. It became evident to me that he wasn't into the game when Rudy F. came off of 1 single down screen, two plays in a row and he didn't fight throught them. Rudy got 2 WIDE open shots at the elbow."
Good observation GUM, I recall this awful sequence vividly... I was severely pissed because Rudy couldn't have asked for easier more uncontested jumpers... It was like he was shooting free throws in the midst of running their half court offense!!! Shortly after that I just stopped watching because I could see what was about to happen already.
Doesn't feel good to know/witness that your team isn't sufficiently equipped to battle and contend with certain teams (any team with a BIG frontcourt). Another sequence that kept reoccurring was portland guards getting in the paint then throwing easy alley oops and lay ups to pryzbilla... Discouraging game to watch for me, I expected most of that from the champs, but I don't hold portland to that standard although I'm well aware they are a pretty good team.
One Dimensional...
Rodney "Brickmaster" Stuckey has a completely one dimensional game right now. That so called jumper is broke and nowhere to be found again... That's all I wanted the kid to work on and improve this summer, doesn't look like I'm gonna get my wish... By the way no rebounds, no wins folks! Let's go Pistons, you can win tonight if you really want it!!!

Dear Fanz
"Looked lost, hurt and confused, like a beaten puppy."
One more thing if I see another 1 of our bigs cowardly dish the rock without even looking at the rim when they have an EASY lay up for themselves again I'm going to freckin lose it!!!!!!!!!! I don't expect them to dunk on whole teams, but when you got opportunities like that you've got to GO HARD OR GO HOME!!!!! Besides those passes are usually turnovers because all of your teammates are expecting you to finish the lay up like a REAL big man should, SHEESH!Dear Fanz

LMFA0... As funny as that description by Fly Dog is, it's actually a VERY accurate analysis. The dude has seriously digressed from the marginal progress he made near the middle and end of last season. As stated before we don't want much from the guy... Just be big & physical, rebound, play good defense, and make your bunnies... I'm still pissed he let gilbert arenas outrebound him on a play or 2 Saturday vs the wiz! Fact of the matter is we face another squad with a BIG frontline again, but maybe not as offensively talented... We sure could used some help from Kwame "Beaten Puppy" Brown this evening!
Rooks
I agree with that assessment Oracle... I really like the defense I saw Summer attempt to put on Kobe, he may have even been our best option to slowing kobe down a bit tonight. I hope he can find his way off that bench for the betterment of this team... Not to mention the more he plays the more he should be closer to findhing that jumper and shooting touch he had in the summer time.
