The Proving Grounds for the NBA

It's funny how these teams that supposedly are in contention for a championship run, all have ex-Pistons on their teams. But whats even stranger is that these teams think that the players that they aquired will come thru for them. To me that's wierd because if they were so good they would still be here. Maybe that's why I belive in finding raw talent, molding, training and schooling it. Then letting it go out there and do it's thing. It's okay to pick up a seasoned vet here and there to fill in the blanks. But any solid organization grooms its own first, then picks up fill-ins in order to add help and depth along the way. So now that's where these young Pistons are at. They're on their proving grounds, getting their come-uppings. So that when they will be ready for the championship run there won't be any doubt as to do they belong or not. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Basic Point Guard Essentials

If the sports writers and we the bloggers are able to see the PG faults. Surely then the scouts and coaches of any NBA team can identify these problems as well. Yes Stuckey has been in the league for only a few years now and according to the stats he's even or above par when it comes to his production level against Chauncey B. at their same time and carrer playing level. But that doesn't make things right especially if he had the opportunity to play with CB. Learn from him and utilize CB's good traits and omit his bad ones. If you all remember C Billiups didn't get to where he needed to be until he was instructed to lead first, pass and involve the team second and then score when deemed necessary. Only then did CB become the B-baller that he is today. So until Stuckey takes, adopts and puts into effect those same principles his status as the Pistons primary point gaurd is of no use to us all. In other words for him and any other PG that the Pistons will use on their team, they must get down to these basic principles and use them accordingly for this team to prosper. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Trail by Fire, Reputations being Forged

As the Pistons defeated the Wizards last night, two or more positives come to the forefront. First they are proving to everyone that they can win without Rip and Tay. Next they scored over a hundred and won. And to me the acquisitions of BenG. and CharlieV. Have offset the losses of Sheed and Dyce, without any drama. There are many more positive like the valuable playing time that the youngsters are getting and Big Bens defence. Also the maturation and developement of Stuckey into a better player. But the most positive out of them all is the beautifull and fantastic play of Will Bynum. He's starting to get more and more props for his outstanding performances. Those were all positives and where there is good there has to be bad. The only bad thing that I'm going to mention is that now they are starting to bleep on the radar. So if one can call that a bad thing, then there it is. So on that note I'll say...Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Two Bens same Goal

It seems that the two Bens are positioning themselves as the leaders of this here Piston team. One on defence and the other on offense. Me personaly I think highly of the two but as we all know, "There Can Be Only One". I know, sounds like a movie saying but how true it is. The bottom line is that both are exactly right in what it will take to lead this team to become a championship caliber team. Other teams usually have one spokesman that represents that specific team. Not in the case of these Pistons, they historicaly of late have ruled by commitee. Therefore it's no suprise that the two Bens are jockeying for the position of being the True Captain of these Pistons here. Finally a good thing and with a little more time and some gelling they are going to rattle some cages. so on that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Getting their Comeuppings

There is no doubt and also self evident that this team is searching for itself at this present time. They're playing some good defence and keeping their opponents most of the times in the low eighties. Yet they aren't scoring as many points as they thought they would. Surely because of the injuries to their starters and having a somewhat new bench in general. But still they have to be able to score more and be in games with or without key players. Hence forth the bench needs to step up. Thats why I say they need their lessons to be learned well, so that they won't have to keep repeating themselves on failed lessons over and over again. I still haven't seen their Captain step up and lead this team unless you include Big Ben and his second time around. He knows what and how but whitout a decent offensive game in his arsenal that sets him and the team back Big-Time. So now this team needs to go thru trials and errors and develop into a force to be reconed with. Then they will be on their way for a sucessfull championship run. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Lesson learned from todays loss

After the final score was posted and the Pistons finished this game with a loss. There is no doubt to me that some sore spots came to the fore-front. These Pistons here have little consistency when it comes to playing and winning back to back games, a mark of inexperience. Next BG (Ben Gordon) is and should come off the bench to add an extra punch, similar to VJ (Vinnie Johnson) the microwave. And yet, I keep and will continue to point this major flaw out until it is corrected. No one has stepped up and assumed the leadership roll and the true Captain of this team. Yesterday I dug Bynums ferocity and will power as they defeated the Magic. But today no one stepped up and grabbed the reigns of this team and willed them to victory. One thing that I noticed for sure is that Stuckey as of this point, is not the man. Sorry, I still haven't seen or felt the Captain yet, because when he steps up and takes charge this team here will be well on its way. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Detroit is Orlando's Daddy

For some reason whenever they come here they act and play like an expansion team. Yet after all is said and done "A win is a win"... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

A Sacrificial Lamb is Needed

To apease the Basket-ball Gods, the Pistons have to choose a player and execute him for their recent failure. In the early roman times when a battle was lost. A soldier was selected and slaughtered in front of his peers due to unexcusable failure. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to actually hurt someone. But an example needs to be set and a starter should either be benched or traded. That will set the tone and show all, that these Pistons are for real. On the upside, when someones door closes another ones door or in this case opportunity opens, The B-ball Gods will be happy, the league will see that the Pistons are for real and a true blue Piston will step up and step in. Otherwise this team will see that failure is acceptable and maintain its lossing ways. Henceforth personnaly I can't go for that and neither should they. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Same same insanity

The definition of the word insanity, is to repeat the same thing over and over again and then expect a different result. Nope it's not going to happen, even after the loss at home a day prior. These Pistons played the same game as the day before and then ended up with the same result. A loss to an average or one might even say a below average team. It makes you wonder are they trying to take the Lions place in being the worst of all of the home teams. I hope not but unless they change their ways, insanity is bound to have its ugly head appear and stay there until changes are made. Yet as I keep pointing out, here again a great opportunity presented itself for a leader and Captain to step up and assume his rightfull place as the leader of these new Detroit Pistons. Nope sorry not yet and I hate to say this. But until that takes place this bunch of b-ballers don't stand a chance and will be lost in the sauce. A Captain yes a Captain this team needs a Captain. Now go out there and make it happen On that note I'll say as always... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Hind-sight is 20/20

Following last nights dissapointing loss, a lot of questions became answered. 1st. Yes Rip is still needed and untill another player that can put up decent numbers is in the rotation this team will come up short. 2nd. Without any type of scoring from the front bigs, this teams other three positions will be shorthanded on the ofensive end. 3rd. The roll players on this team haven't showed me anything, hurting both the teams production level and the young-guns development. 4th. And finaly, until a true Captain has established himself, this team will be lost. Because when situations become to difficult to handle. There's no one there to grab the reigns and steady the team. These are the most outstanding issues for me that come to the forefront. When these issues are addressed and a positive outcome is achieved. These Pistons here will be on the right track and on their way for a championship run. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Lesson learned from todays loss

For these Pistons to be sucessfull and since they don't have a bonifide superstar a three man 20 points or better unit is needed. That third scorer was so sorely misssed and the role players didn't step up in tonights game. End-result their first loss of this new season. Now that this game is in the record books, hopefully the Pistons won't repeat these errors and move on to bigger and better things. Yet still todays game was a ripe for the pickings type of game for the true Pistons Captain to step up, take the reigns of this team and guide them to victory. Sorry, I still haven't seen that in this team here. But it will happen, it must otherwise this team will fade away and dissapear. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

These Pistons no Pressure

These Pistons here are in a position of comfort for the first time in a very long time. I state this because after watching the first few games of this new NBA season, everyone has seemed to left out these Pistons from any type of success. So whenever that happens a team can go about their business, do their thing and get wins as they get improve in all categories. All of the announcers, critics and writers have already picked the two crowning champs in their respective conferences. And also have crowned a repeating champion for this season already. That's where the statement "That's why we play the game", comes from. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Almost like a 2004 repeat, boy that sure's going to be nice. Remember I said it first...(HaHA)... The reason why I stated this is because, the Pistons are a trade away from something big and if that happens it will surely knock all of the usual suspects off of their square. So lets watch and see how these things play out. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

The Right DNA for these Pistons

Some of the teams playing this year sure look good, they accomodate each other well and corrected last years faults. I'm wondering do these Pistons have the right chemistry with each other. And even more so, do they fit in with the legacy of the Pistons of old. From what I know these Pistons will have to go thru a learning process and an experience that will give them "Ties that Bind". Until then these players here will just be going thru the motions of being on a team and playing basketball. Something dramatic has to happen and that's when their DNA will begin to form and this team will become contenders. Otherwise if nothing seriously ever happens, they will be just an average team with average stats. Boy what a great and anxious time to be a Pistons fan. To watch and see these Pistons come into their own. Because if nothing else, when these Pistons of now begin to follow in any of the old Pistons steps. They sure have a chance to hang a banner or two on the celling if nothing else. And after all that's what this is all about, isn't it? So on that note I'll say let this new season begin and... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Early Season Rankings

Im reading these early season rankings and if one is to belive them, than the Pistons are a very lowly team and behind the curb substantially. The Question here is are the critics right or are they a bunch of Piston hatters? Are these Pistons going to prove them wrong or should they just go thru this seasons motion and wait for the lottery pick. I don't know but I'm sure going to watch and see. It's true that the Pistons lost some key players of last season but they had to rid themselfs of the old, upgrade and change. So the moves were necessary. Now lets see if Joe D. and the higher ups did the right thing. We will surely know by the Allstar game on how they're working out, hopefuly with a good progress report and a confident squad to show for. On that note I'll say... Go Pistons Go and... Peace out

Zeke, A true Captain

If you all remember those Pistons (Bad Boys)like I do. And If you remember the strangle hold the Celtics and the Lakers had on the championships year in and year out. All I have to say is that it took a special team and a special type of man to lead that team. Not only did the Pistons break up the Celtic-Laker ring. They also re-invented basketball with the defensive prowess. I mean even untill today the league implemented the Flagrant-foul rule because if an opponent thought that he could waltz up to the rim and sweet dunk the ball nobody would check him. All of that changed when the Pistons came to be and with them their true leader, point-guard and poster boy of the Bad-Boys... Mr. Isiah Thomas (Zeke). So if the fall out from that came from his so call buddy-buddy Magic and how he dissed him from the olympics. Even how MJ whinned to Stern that he was going to retire because he couldn't get past the Pistons and their defense. I mean I can go on and on about the Pistons of old and how we're even having problems today about our point-guard Stuckey. On how he's suppose to be running this team. Nothing like what we as Piston fans are used to. So when all these folks down talk him remember this. He gave them all "Hell" and a bunch of hard-stuff to handle. So go ahead on and do your thing because he sure did his. And I also remember what he had to do and what it took to get those banners hung. I salute you Zeke. And on that note I'll say as always... Go Pistons and... Peace out
