FLY DOG OF THE CAPE,

FlyDog, your right WE should have gotten something in return for Budinger. I, too, thought it was a great pick-up with the 46th pick (if not I'm mistaken), but to then draft him for cash was dumb.

Now, if Joe would have packaged him and Amir to Houston on Draft Night for Carl Landry, then that would have been smart.

But,agreed, to have traded Budinger for "cash considerations" was straight-up dumb and also, a question that Joe has never answered.

WE have got to get a win tonight!

DETROIT BASKETBALL for 48 minutes, please!!!

Fri. 11/20/09 10:32 AM

Trade thought~

GetUMad, I think that you meant to indicate that Flynn and Rubio are PG's, instead of SG's.

I agree with you, the Minnesota squad needs veteran leadership and a SG. Joe, definately needs to get on the phone and see how he can get Al Jefferson from the T-wolves.

Rip for Al Jefferson, works on the NBA Trade Machine. But, WE may want to sweeten the deal with OUR 2010 or 2011 First Round Pick.

Fri. 11/20/09 10:04 AM

assists, depth

Agreed, GetUMad! Stuckey, who did shot 6-21 against the Blazers has to finish far more of his drives. A large portion of his drives should be "And 1's". He was 9-10 from the line.

But the reality is Suckey is OUR starting point guard. He does have to increase his assists. His outside shot has to improve, a bit also, as this will continue to help his drive game. As stated before, he does have to finish his drives, more too.

But, the guy isn't trash. Not that you have stated such. Stuckey puts a lot of pressure on the dude that is checking him. I do like his aggressivenes. I like the fact that he is growing, as a player. He is actually getting better, before OUR very eyes.

I say let's stick with Stuckey for a while longer and watch his game continue to get better.

Now, as far as tomorrow night's game against the Jazz, we are going to have to keep Charlie V. on the floor. He's got to stay away from early foul trouble, eventhough a lot the fouls that he is called for are of the phantom foul variety.

WE are going to have to rebound, defend, and get points in the paint, whether it be put backs by Big Ben, Kwame, Maxey, Charlie V., Jerebko or drives by Stuckey, Bynum, or Ben G.

I'll say it again, WE are going to need to get Summers on the floor, as well. If Daye, gets on the floor he's going to have to play with confidence - play like a man.

Long story short, WE will need to play a perfect place in a venue that WE notoriously take L's at.

DETROIT BASKETBALL please...?

Oh and another think, why is it that Chris Paul, who has a sprained ankle can show up at Hornets games on the bench with his mates and Rip hasn't been seen, since the fourth quarter of OUR first game of the season, nearly a month ago against Memphis. Heck, even Tay is traveling with the team on OUR current west coast road trip.

Something's up with Rip ... mighty fishy.

Thu. 11/19/09 11:56 AM

C'mon Pistons Play a 48 min. Game, please ...

"GetUMad" the thing is, I honestly believe that Summers is a bonifide NBA player, who if given starters minutes will prove to US and the League that he belongs.

Jerebko can also become a quality NBA starter, remember Kurt Rambis with the Lakers or even A.C. Green also when he was a Laker.

Also, iIf Charlie V. could stay on the floor and play with more passion and concentration at the start of games, I think WE would have better starts.

I'm going on record, here, as a Stuckey supporter. His first quarters are strong and his penetration (would like to see more "And 1's" and finishes at the cup) puts pressure on the opposing starting PG.

And, well Big Ben is playing great, in my opinion.

And, yes, then WE come off with the heat: Will B., Madison Sqaure Gordon, young Austin Daye, and Maxey.

The suggested line-up develops the young guys and it puts Will B. and Gordon in positions, where they can be more successful; again, in my option.

But, my suggestion only works if it follow through all the way. Yes, WE will have to move Rip. Trust me, I like Rip, but it is time to move Rip for a consistent big. Kaman or Okafor are the two that I would choose from. If need be WE can package Rip along with Wilcox, although WE can't move Wilcox until December 8th, I think, because he was a free agent signee over the summer.

You have to agree that WE have to do something quick!

Thu. 11/19/09 11:42 AM

C'mon Pistons Play a 48 min. Game, please ...

Yo "Fly" - thanks. I think WE all love OUR Pistons, so much so, that WE all have remedies/solutions for OUR squad's success.

Thu. 11/19/09 08:40 AM

C'mon Pistons Play a 48 min. Game, please ...

Okay, then smart guy, what do you suggest that WE do.

The line-up that I suggested makes US a bigger ball club and defensively better. WE need to start playing better defense at the start of games, so that WE are not having to make miracle comebacks in the 4th.

Also, the line-up that I have suggested, offers the young guys more time on the floor.

But, most of all, the suggested line provides a punch coming off of OUR bench with Will B. and Gordon.

If you'll have been watching closely, you will see that Ben G. is probably better coming off of the bench, as he is not having to concentrate on all facets of the game and he concentrate on filling up the cup. WE, too, have seen the spark that Will B. provides off the bench.

Trust me when WE get to playing the Hawks, Celtics, Cavs, WE are going to have to have bigger guys on the floor, the Stuckey at SF with Will B. and Ben G. on the floor is not going to cut it against those squads.

Also, WE need to seriously consider moving Rip for Kaman.

WE have got to get another active big on OUR roster.

Once again, this is the winning formula:

PG - Stuckey/Bynum

SG - Summers/B. Gordon

SF - Jerebko/Daye

PF - Charlie V./Maxey/Wilcox

C - Big Ben/Kwame

Trade Rip for Kaman and then you have:

PG - Stuckey/Bynum

SG - Summers/B. Gordon

SF - Jerebko/Daye

PF - Charlie V./Maxey/Wilcox

C - Big Ben/Kaman/Kwame

This is the winning formula to follow, if WE want to still be playing in June.

DETROIT BASKETBALL!!!

C'mon Pistons Play a 48 min. Game, please ...

Rhett, I'm very serious. It is time to move onward without Rip - maybe consider moving Rip for Kaman; and I would have Tay sit out for the remainder of the season, so that he can get the best treatment and rehabilitation for his rupture disc.

Also, I still have not read anywhere, where Rip injury has been described thoroughly enough for me to believe that he is really injured.

Call me a synic, but I don't believe Rip is as injuried, as WE are to believe that he may be.

Yes, the time has come and the rebuilding of OUR Pistons is underway.

Thu. 11/19/09 01:10 AM

C'mon Pistons Play a 48 min. Game, please ...

WE have got to stop waiting until the 4th quarter to get serious. Must also find more minutes for Summers. Maybe start Summers at the SG position and come off with Ben.

PG - Stuckey/Bynum

SG - Summers/Ben Gordon

SF - Jerebko/Daye

PF - Charlie V./Maxey/Wilcox

C - Big Ben/Kwame

WE should go with the above line-up, at least until WE can move Rip and/or Tay.

Wed. 11/18/09 11:00 AM

Oh what a night!

BigWillie, you are so right on all of your points:

Kwame has hands like the guy on the burger commercials, where his hands are too small to eat the burger. (I think that it is a Burger King commercial.) WE need a consitent big man threat. Eventhough Okafor is not 7', he still would be an upgrade over Kwame. I have mentioned before move Kwame and Maxey for Okafor, now before WE get to far behind in the standings.

Maxey did have a nice block against, I forget the guys name, now. And, every now and again, Maxey makes a nice play, but too far and in between.

Stuckey's jumper does get cold in the second half. But, I think Stuckey's a keeper. Definately a plus on OUR squad.

But, the point that you make about Kuester giving Summers SG minutes, is right on. I was going to mention this, too. Summers needs to be the first SG coming off the bench.

I'm still curious about Rip. Maybe Joe should drop Rip off in Utah, when WE play the Jazz and scope up Boozer.

WE need somebody who is going to give US guaranteed points, rebounds, and presence in the paint.

And, where is Charlie V. Two points is not going to do it. WE need consistent production, son.

C'mon Joe, you have got to add a consistent big to OUR roster, quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Somehow, someway, WE have got to get a win tonight in Portland. You know how they say that the first home game for a team that has been on a long road trip, is the perfect game for a visiting opponent to steal.

Got to get a win, tonight!

DETROIT BASKETBALL!!!

Where is Rip? ...

So Rip will not be traveling with the team on OUR 4 game west coast trip.

Why do WE get reports like this about Chris Paul's injury:

Further tests on Chris Paul 's ankle show nothing beyond a sprain, but there is no timetable for his return to the Hornets.

But, WE hear nothing about Rip's injury. Only that he will not be traveling with the team on the west coast trip.

I still say something is fishy about Rip's injury. Either he does not have an ankle sprain (heck, its been 4 weeks, now) or the injury is far more serious.

C'mon Pistons beat writers, tell US something!

Tonight's game: WE have a great chance of winning the first game of this west coast trip against the Lakers if Kobe is not playing.

DETROIT BASKETBALL is back!!!

Mon. 11/16/09 12:44 PM

How would Stephen Jackson have been in Detroit?

Yo "db6", I thought about the possibility of Joe acquiring Steven Jackosn, a couple of weeks ago, before Charlie V. began to show US that he can play basketball, but I would have to say that I wouldn't want Jackson on OUR roster.

For two primary reasons: 1) his salary and 2) his attitude.

His salary is way too much and his personality doesn't fit. WE currently have a roster of players, who want to be Pistons. WE don't need any malcontents.

Also, I think OUR greatest need, as I have continued to post, is a paint presense. I would like to find a way that WE could add Okafor to OUR roster. Joe want pick-up his phone and listen to my proposal of moving Maxey and Kwame for Okafor. Then go and sign Cheick Samb for a bag of rocks.

WE could then compete for a Title, this season.

Oh, I also am on record with the belief that Charlie V. should be OUR starting SF. Back-up by Daye and Jerebko. Jonas could also get back-up minutes at the PF position.

Tay should have the surgery that is needed to repair the rupture disc in his back, which would be a season ending injury. Next season Tay's salary would attractive enough to move to another team, as he would be in the final year of his currrent contract.

And, hopefully Rip can come back fully healed, soon and very soon.

But, I'm still suspicious of Rip's injury. I would like to acquire more information about his ankle injury. WE all know that an ankle sprain is not a 3-4 week injury.

Dam(n) WE got a tough three games, ahead. (@LA Lakers, @ Portland, and @ Utah, where WE never win.)

DETROIT BASKETBALL somehow, someway!!!

Mon. 11/16/09 11:31 AM

SF

Breaking News: Stven Jackson and Acie Law were traded to the Bobcats for Rasha Bell and Radmanovic. I do believe that the Bobacts will be making another move, soon, as they have too many PGs (Felton, Augustine, Acie Law) and SFs (Wallace, Diaw, Jackson).

WE are 10 games into the season, currently 5-5. OUR coaching has been great. OUR new guys (Gordon, Charlie V. Big Ben, Jerebko, Daye) have given US some good minutes. Stuckey and Bynum have also played their hearts out.

Maxey and Kwame have done all (not saying very much, here) they can and are able to do. WE need to make a trade for a consistent presence in the paint. Move Maxey and Kwame for Okafor. The trade works salary-wise (see ESPN's NBA Trade Machine).

And, if the Bobcats are not afraid to make a move, then why should WE.

C'mon Joe!

Mon. 11/16/09 11:24 AM

SF

Murph, I respect your point of view on the SF topic, but I'm still of the belief that WE already have a starting SF in the body of Charlie V. (I don't believe Charlie V. is a starting PF. He can play there some, depending who is on the floor, but he's puts US in an advantageous position as SF than PF.)

I say that WE should possibly look at moving Maxey and Kwame for Okafor and then sign Chieck Samb for a bag of rocks.

WE need far more paint presence.

Sun. 11/15/09 08:47 PM

Gotta give 'em there props

OUR guys have played 10 games, each to the final buzzer. Kuester has demonstrated that he can indeed coach.

WE probably would have won tonight's game, if Ben would have had his usual shooting touch.

But, for real though, WE are going to need a low-post threat. Joe has got to go get US somebody, who can demand a double team on the low block or WE are going to wear OUR guards out.

And, will does Rip have a sprained ankle or what. I was watching the Redskins vs. Broncos game earlier, today, and saw where their tightend Chris Cooley was playing. Chris Cooley broke his leg 3 weeks ago, and was playing in today's game.

I don't believe Rip has a sprained ankle. It is either a more serious injury or not an injury, at all.

OUR guys do need a day off.

Sun. 11/15/09 12:21 AM

Bye bye Rip

ThaShow, you're right Kuester does get his shot at Carlisle, tomorrow and Gentry is coming up soon.

The Mavericks and Suns are better teams than the Bobcats and the Wizard, but I like OUR chances.

Big game tomorrow. WE can get them, too, but I think WE will need to significant minutes from Daye and will need to be able to keep Charlie V. on the floor.

Also, I think it will be mighty difficult for Madison Square Gordon to go to coming off the bench if and when Rip returns.

WE are rebuilding quite well.

One more roster move: Rip for Okafor and cash.
