Amir Discovers Cure For Cancer...And Other Stuff

Why does Afflalo get all the love on this forum, with no sugar for Amir?

I for one hope the Pistons make the playoffs and miss the lottery. What with Joe's history of lottery picks, and the Pistons history of developing 1st round draft choices, I see a trip to the lottery as just another chance for more frustration and disappointment (think Darko and Rodney "Fast Hands" White). Win now!...dagnabit!

Fly...thanks for the update on the weekend games. See, from looking at the box scores, it was impossible to tell that Kwame was the reason for both losses. But thanks to your subtle insight, now I know better. That's why it's so important to tape the games and watch them 3 times. :^)

The Lost Weekend...

Thankfully, I was out of town this weekend, so I didn't have to watch the last two games. But from the box scores, I can clearly see that the play of Kwame Brown was the reason for the loses (extreme sarcasm).

This forum has more bad then good people

GUM...good post. Pre-season, I picked the 'Stones to win 41 and make the 8th seed. I still think/hope that will happen, and if it does, I'll be satisfied and I'll quit b*tching. I'll always be a fan, no matter what happens.

This forum has more bad then good people

I have to admit I have become a little sour in the last year, what with Joe dumping Billups, Afflalo and AJ for no good reason, not to mention the AI debacle. And it is frustrating watching the Pistons lose more games than they win, especially when they lose to teams they use to beat with their eyes closed, like OKC and Milwaukee. And I've also become frustrated with Joe's draft choices, and the Pistons organization's lack of development of those draft choices.

But if Joe manages to make a trade or two, and balances out the roster by bringing in a decemt big man, and if the Pistons can right the ship and squeak into the playoffs, then I'm sure my mood will improve, right along with the mood of the forum.

Summers

The heck with JJ and Daye. IMO, Summers could be the rookie with the most potential. Q should give Summers more burn, and try him out in the starting SF role. It's not as if JJ is lighting it up at SF.

One Dimensional...

How come when Kwame has a bad game and turns the ball over 3 times, he's the anti-Christ, but when JMax stinks up the place up by going 0 for everything, and pulling down 2 measly rebounds...no one says a word? Just asking...

Portland game

"As far as Kwame goes, he is a very servicable backup. I think it is because he was drafted #1 overall forever ago, that people want to say he is garbage because he hasn't lived up to his draft status. When you take away all expectations, he is a very good back-up who can play good post up defense. If you look around the league and compare, Kwame is on par or better than MOST back-up Centers. If we were winning games, he wouldn't even be talked about. He is never the reason for a loss or win. He comes in, plays good defense, and gets a few ugly baskets here and there. What more do you want from the back-up Center? If he gets asked to do more, then we may have problems, but I think everyone in this form already knows we need a quality big."

Excellent post. GUM, I never thought I'd say this but as far as Kwame is concerned, you're the voice of reason.

Laker Game

Hey Wise...'bout time you showed. I was having trouble holding back the angry mob all by myself. :^)

The forum mob can be pacified temporarily, but I'm afraid it's inevitable that Kwame's going to be this year's offical scapegoat.

Sorry Kwame...we've done all we can.

Laker Game

Fly...we knew our big men were going to be the weak link in this team before the season started. Villanueva is our only legitimate offensive threat. And Ben Wallace was added as an afterthough for $1.3 million a year, and thank God he was, because he's been our best big man at providing boards, shot blocking and interior defense.

So that leaves Brown, Maxiell and Wilcox off the bench. And objectively speaking, so far this season, Brown has out-performed Maxiell and Wilcox, hands down.

So does Joe still need to go out and get some legitimate big men before the trade deadline or next summer? Yup...he still does.

BTW...how come I'm the only one defending Brown? Were's your side-kick who predicted Kwame would average a double-double before the season started.

Laker Game

First off, I fell asleep last night at halftime, so I didn't see the Pistons 4th quarter run to make the game respectable. But let me say this, with all the trainwreck performances by individual Pistons last night, such as Villanueva, Stuckey, Gordon, Wallace and Daye...with all the bad performances last night, I think it's a little unfair to scapegoat Kwame Brown as the reason for this loss.

Face it. The Lakers are the World Champs, and we're rebuilding. There are going to be lots of nights like last night. It's not the fault of any one player.

Raptors To Retire Amir Johnson's Number...

Man...it's hog heaven for the AJ/Afflalo fan club tonight, what with the Raptors playing the Nuggets in Denver.

The TAX LEVEL, the level at which the luxury tax kicks in, is set at $70 million for this year.

***WHEN RIP COMES BACK...

Gotabeef...I agree. When Rip returns, he'll probably return to the starting line-up in a 3 guard starting rotation with Stuckey and Gordon. And Jerebko will probably return to the bench, in a return to small ball.

SF

Sebastian...interesting trade. I gotta believe the Bobcats got the better of that trade.

I'd love for Joe to acquire Okafor. But I think it would take a whole lot more than Brown and Maxiell.

Kinda Sad

Not only had Afflalo improved with consistent playing time, but has anyone noticed how well AmirJohnson has played the last few games?

But we have Chris Wilcox.
