"Do you honestly think for one minute Jerry Sloan, will interrupt the development of Ronnie Brewer, displace AK47, for Richard Hamilton?"
Xango, ahhhh... YES Jerry Sloan will interrupt the development of Ronnie Brewer! When have you ever known Utah and Jerry Salone to be the house for bring young players along? Also, if Utha and Jerry Sloan love Ronnie Brewer so much why did they not offer him a contract extension??????????????
"They're done with Boozer, at the end of the year, and will benefit from that outlandishly large contract falling off THEIR books."
Xango, wrong again. Boozer contract is not "outlandish" as you put it. Now AK47 contract is the one Utha would like to get rid of.
Also, Utah will still be over the cap after Boozer's contract is off the books so Boozer's "Outlandish" contract as you put it is really no big deal. If Utah could get rid of AK47 contract I would bet anyone that Utah would sign Boozer back for a very fair price to stay under the LUX TAX.
RIP for Boozer would be perfect for Utha If Detroit would take a bad contract off Utah's hands.

Who wants to trade a quality big man for an undernurished, uninspired, broke back small forward? So much for using Tay, for anything other than buzzard bait at this time.
We're going to trade Rip, for Boozer? Do you honestly think for one minute Jerry Sloan, will interrupt the development of Ronnie Brewer, displace AK47, for Richard Hamilton? They're done with Boozer, at the end of the year, and will benefit from that outlandishly large contract falling off THEIR books. "You keep the drain on your payroll, thank you very much," is probably the thinking in Provo right now.
How about, "Okay New York, what do you want other than the "smurfs" (Ben & Will), the old man (Ben), the outcast (Kwame), or the rookies for David Lee?" Do you think that offer would generate a lot of belly laughs in "the Apple?"

Sorry Wise Fan but the Piston team is close to a last place team. Even with Dwight Howard, the Pistons might not make the playoffs. Right now, teams are not really serious about buckling down to secure spots in the playoffs. This is why Detroit is not getting blown out by 30 points every night. Our Pistons play street style basketball with no dicipline, mostly getting offense with one on one forced attempts. When Detroit needs a stop defensivly, they can't get one. Will Bynum is a horrible defender as we witnessed last night. Stuckey lacks the ability to concentrate for very long on defense or he just doesn't care much about defense. There is no teamwork that I can see. I do like the rookies and hope they get a lot of playing time.
CYNIC DEPARTMENT STILL OPEN
So which one is it? Did they lose because of small ball or did they lose because they didn't start focused defensively? I say it was a little of both of these things because when they needed to be big they weren't and though the Magic came out blazing our defense dug that hole. I guess it's a matter of perspective like pinning it down on the FT's missed and coing up with the 7 point difference, so yeah SHOW it was quite a bit of a lot of things including some of Kuester coaching.
I'm not saying he coached horribly but that the 3 guard get push more than it should. I can think on of a few instances where we could have benefitted with having a bigger line up. It wasn't no one particular thing that lead to this loss yesterday.

"A 3-guard lineup is NOT small ball"
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!CYNIC DEPARTMENT STILL OPEN
Wise first you say:
"I'm not ready to jump all over Kuester just yet but 2 of these loss were a result of too much small ball."
Then you say:
"They beat Orlando for 3 straight quarters tonight so imagine if they were more focus coming out in the first and played solid defense to start."
So which one is it? Did they lose because of small ball or did they lose because they didn't start focused defensively? Because last time I checked that team jumped out on the Pistons from jump. And also last time I checked, the Pistons haven't played small ball all year. A 3-guard lineup is NOT small ball. For all intents and purposes pretty much all teams play 3 guard lineups throughout the game. Playing Bynum, Stuck and Ben together with 2 bigs puts this team at no disadvantage when they're facing Nelson, Redick and Barnes. Stop blaming losses on things that are not happening.

"Maybe I just too darn cynical but that's giving him too much leway. For a minute you sound like we were talking about some rookie PG."
That's where our thought process breaks down. Stuckey got into the league by scoring the ball, he has played his entire career one way, then he comes here and plays behind a REAL PG, and look promising. Then only last year, he got his first full-time gig, but had an idiot coach. To me, this is his FIRST full season to hands-on, learn the PG position. That is why he has the leway with me. We both saw what he can do as a PG when CB was coaching him, he still has time, give it to him. **What's wrong with you? You don't compare IP bucks to Stuckey bucks, IP = KG money.
CYNIC DEPARTMENT STILL OPEN
Sorry I didn't make myself clear. We are 1 good big away from being a serious contender, right? Since we don't have that big or since we are not a serious contender, then what good do Wins do us if our PG isn't playing the right way? If we had that 1 big already, then this season is not a transition season, and I want my CB back with Stuck learning behind him still. Stuckey's PG play does not constitue wins, yet. If we keep getting wins with Stuck playing PG the same way as he plays SG, then how is coach suppose to get him to learn the position?
Gum I could agree with all the above if we were actually talking about 12 year old, but unfortunately were talking about a grown arse man who make the same money as IP does :-) so this doesn't fly. I would be more receptive to this notion if he himself was a rookie right now. But he has played behind one of the best, been around some of the most talented players, has a full season under his belt and is in his 3rd seasons. It like saying he doesn't know any better. Stuckey didn't arrive here last year he was here when this team went to the ECF so he seen what it takes to win, he himself took this team into the 1st round, he seen first hand how to lead a team.
Maybe I just too darn cynical but that's giving him too much leway. For a minute you sound like we were talking about some rookie PG.

Wise "Stop giving him ready made excuses when he's not attempting to run the team as a PG. If he was and was failing and making mistake then I could be as patient as you about it, but he running and gunning more often than not. I know that our guards can score but can any of them lead?"
No! They can't lead, yet. It's why we have the record we do. We both agree there. Since they can't lead, why would you want them to get W's? If we got W's without any adjustments needing to be made, why would they adjust? This is the time when you let your 12 year old kids play with the 16 year olds and get roughed up a little bit. If they get lucky and beat the 16 year olds, they think they are ready for the 18 year olds when CLEARLY they aren't.
" As far as being a Big away from seriously contending were already at that point when you consider what's we have on our roster already so in that regard you should be disappointed anyway. It's not like we are playing with the rookies and Stuckey in the lineup and everyone is learning on the fly here. You have Ben Gordon, CV and capable rooks that's already 2 strong scores in the lineup. I understand the whole learning curve process, but the question remains is he learning to play like a PG?"

If we only had 1 loss right now like Wise says we SHOULD have, I would be disappointed because we don't have a roster to win a ring. Meaning; if our guard play was already 'smart' enough to close games, we need our 1 big to be serious, and we don't have him, so it would only be a false sense of securtiy.
GUM this doesn't make sense. How could you not be happy if they were 5-1? What false sense would this bring? Don't get me wrong but I don't expect this team to contend this season, but this doesn't negate the fact that those wins are equally as important as those games we lose. I don't expect Stuckey to be at All-Star caliber what I do ecpect from him is to play like a PG rather he makes mistakes or not. Can you honestly say that he has been playing like a PG? or is he still playing like a SG? He is still thinking his offense first. As far as being a Big away from seriously contending were already at that point when you consider what's we have on our roster already so in that regard you should be disappointed anyway. "Yes Gum they should be 5-1 and I would be pleased if it were 4-2 or even 3-3. They beat Orlando for 3 straight quarters tonight so imagine if they were more focus coming out in the first and played solid defense to start. As far as I'm concern we should have had this game, the OKC game and the Raptors game. And really as much as we say we need a big I think smarter PG play would have gotten us these wins"
I agree about the PG play in the other games, but not last night. When you shoot that poorly from the FREE throw line, you deserve to lose, flat-out. Last night, they gave up a big lead, and did not execute the most important ingrediant to secure a comeback, score FREE points with the clock stopped. IMO, they deserved the L and again, had they won, it would have been a steal. The beauty of the other games you talk about, is that with better PG play, we could have a better record, taking a step back, isn't that what we are doing? We have a lot of beans invested in Stuck's bucket, and the L's aren't losses for Stuck, but Learning experiences. I think Stuck will turn the corner and be able to get some W's under his belt with smarter play, but we can't forget what this season is really about. If there are no developments in his PG play by mid/end of this year, then I say we address the position, until then, I say we watch him grow. I think most Piston fans should feel this way now that our core championship team has aged and/or not here anymore. I mean, look at what happened in the 4th quarter last night, CV got off out of nowhere, with ease. I guarantee you Stuckey saw this and if he wants to be the leader that he is being tagged, he will call CV's number more often. This means now our PG has another 'weapon' that he didn't know about. This is EXACTLY what happena in a 'transitional' season. Unfortunately, most of the time, the W's are the last thing to come on a regular basis.
I will say to every poster that is caught up looking ONLY at the final results (W/L), take a step back, remember what this season is about, and simply enjoy.

SHOW say's...It figures you would have a negative tone after this game. The Stones missed 14 free throws and Orlando missed 5. The difference being 9 points and they lost by 7.
What do you expect? I'm a Cynic!!!!
I'm not saying the team didn't play hard or haven't since the season started. I'm not ready to jump all over Kuester just yet but 2 of these loss were a result of too much small ball. He has too be a little bit more comfortable in our young bigs and their PT needs to be more consistent. I like the hustle and effort but scheme has very little to be desire, there is no balance in their attack. Both rookies played well but should have played more and I think that would have mae a difference in the game as well. And of course missing 14 FT's along with 13 assist and 11 turnovers didn't help either.
Yes Gum they should be 5-1 and I would be pleased if it were 4-2 or even 3-3. "I'm thinking New Orleans just because he'd look good running with CP3. But they wouldn't want his contract just because of the years. The only way a GM takes Max is if they're dumping a player of their own in return, or if what they're giving up keeps them under the luxury tax THIS YEAR, or if he was traded together with Kwame's expiring."
Yeah, that would be a good deal for both teams except that $$ part. Giving away Kwame to make the finance end work, I don't like. I am on the Kwame wagon this year though, so maybe it's just me. I just expect him to play well when his minutes start to increase with the season.

Wise said "they should be IMHO no kidding 5-1 if you look at the games they've played and loss."
You think they should have won tonight? They started off slow (well Orlando started off hot) and they missed free-throws. If we would have won, it would have been a steal. I'm not saying 'could have' won, I am going off of what you said "should".
