Palin

garrd says Jenny doesn't have the "intelligence" to even write a book.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Plain..errr..Palin had much help in the form of her ghost writer, Lynn Vincent.

In fact, 90% of these books by politicians, celebs, athletes...ect... are really written by someone else. It really takes little "intelligence" to "write" a book these days, when the "writer" is is someone you don't see.

The Refractometer

Yes, I speak of all the screaming Cheetahs, but I think Franken has a different job now. And no, I never heard his show. But I think Air America and liberal radio is more obscure. When I turn on the radio as I head to the great Two Hearted (Hemingway screwed up, he was really fishing on the Fox, or he took poetic license), I mostly hear the right wingers filling my truck with bad gas.

I love fishing. The lighter the line, the better. I once caught a 27 pound King on 8 Lb. test. Took 40 minutes, and one of the finest fights I have ever had. But it still didn't compare to the 15 lb. Steelie I caught years ago. Best fight ever, and that fish had no life left in him when I landed him. As you know, the Steelhead fights to the death. Rarely have I ever seen one flop around after being landed. They leave it all in the water, which makes them the true Kings.

I am off to a family gathering today. We are all bringing wild game for dinner. I'm supplying the Gator and Elk.

Drew

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try to stream Medved on the wonderful world wide web this Monday. He sounds like someone I would enjoy listening to. I have no issue with conservative view points (I agree with some of them) as long as they are delivered without the screaming, holier than thou, insulting and brow beating rhetoric that has dominated radio for years. Medved sounds like a breath of fresh air.

Fri. 11/20/09 11:26 PM

Refracto, you've got Mark Levin pegged...

Drew,
,br>Didn't Medved do movie reviews once? I havn't heard his show.

I have never heard Savage either. But I have heard of him and know of his obnoxious behavior. He's the one who said autism isn't real or something to that effect I believe. Another classy human being.

I have never understood the appeal of creeps like Levin. I'm not a shrink, but my best guess is his followers must be awful bitter and angry to take pleasure in listening to hateful human beings like Levin. It's pretty scary when you think about it.

If trues it's a bombshell

I'm not familiar with the Snow/GMAC thing. Sure he had his faults, but I still liked the way he conducted himself.

If trues it's a bombshell

I will say this though. I have heard Mark Levin a few times as I drive and the man is the most disrespectful, crude, and nasty human being I have ever heard on the airwaves. The way he treats people is downright disgusting. Equally as disgusting is this unmitigated hatred gets good ratings. People actually enjoy this stuff.

I have no issue with WJR carrying Limbaugh and the rest. It's good business because of the ratings. However I lost all respect for them because they continue to carry Levin. Ratings or not, in my opinion they sold their dignity and reputation.

One night we heard him lay the lumber on a woman caller and my wife was in disbelief that a human being could talk to someone the way he did. The woman was respectful to him, but because she disagreed with the guy, she was called every name the FCC allows. It was shocking and I don't shock easily.

If trues it's a bombshell

Biz, they all do it. Left and right. It's like having a hundred Father Coughlins from each side babbling there agendas, making things up, and the heck with the facts as they scream at America. Olbermann, Beck, Rush, Matthews, all of em. It's why I stopped listening and watching these people years ago.

I will watch Meet the Press to hear things from the horses mouth. I watch CNN primarily for the latest headlines and during the elections. I think David Berger, and Ed Rollins are fair. But I don't take any of it for gospel.

I do have one guilty pleasure. I often disagree with the man, but I will record Bill Maher. He is a liberal, but he is quite harsh on the Democrats, and has lit Obama up in recent months. But the biggest reason I watch is because he has great guests, both left, right and middle. I also love Mahers opinions on religion. Which is probably why many detest him as well.

Bill used to have Tony Snow on all of the time before Tony went to the WH for Bush. I really miss Tony, a class act all of the way. He loved going on Maher as well. I wish they all could be like Tony. R.I.P.

Sorry

I was addressing Duane in the post below, Just for clarification.

If trues it's a bombshell

I see you are now misrepresenting me through 3rd parties again, in your quest to find affirmation through others and seek their assistance in helping you fight your battles. I will ignore you for the most part unless you bring real value to the table, but I also will defend myself against your slander when you misrepresent me to others.

I will speak to you directly instead of resorting to telling others my problems as you do. I don't drag others into my battles like you do.

I explained several times why I did not reply to you concerning the Gore book. Your problem is you made an assumption based on what you incorrectly thought was my position on Al Gore. You were burned again.

I agree with Snowdoggs summation of the Al Gore book. I have no issue with Snowdogg and if Snowdogg wants to address me, or vice versa, we know where each other are. I am also sure he can and has made up his mind on his view of me, without or without your schoolyard attempts for help in pushing me off the teeter totter. Grow Up.

Now, if you have something you want to say to me, say it to me directly. And if I don't respond, deal with it. No one else really cares anyway. This is only an opinion site, deal yours and let the cards fall where they may. And with all the respect I can muster, quit whining about it!

Peace.

Strippers

Norton, when I was a very, very young man, I went to a strip joint with some pals. We had a few too many cocktails (sorry catholic4life) and I made a critical mistake. I mistakenly thought the dressing room was the mens restroom and walked in like I owned the place.

Needless to say, they weren't too happy and I was escorted back to my seat by 2 very large and powerful men who had no sense of humor.

Especially when I asked them what the difference was. I wasn't seeing anything in that room that wasn't on the stage.

Let me tell you, I'm a big dude, but these guys were scary hairy big. I was real religious for a few minutes there.

Strippers

Catholic4life,

your attitude is exactly why more and more people are leaving organized religion in this country. It is your over the top arrogance that you think it is your duty to preach to others. You don't hold the keys to the truth anymore than I do. Not my truth anyway.

If you don't like strip clubs and if they offend you and your faith, I suggest you not go to them. Free will and all that good stuff.

I find the Catholic Church and all of it's hypocrisy more offensive than strip clubs, but it doesn't bother me that they exist. You enjoy your double standards, and quit worrying about others double standards.

Now THAT my friend, is what makes America GREAT.

Funny that

Biz, I take no issue with your criticism of Hillary. What I speak of are the personal attacks on her that came from the right for years, and still do. I find it difficult to garner sympathy when the Plain supporters detest the same kind of shots taken at Sarah.

What you speak of is politics. They all do what she did. And Bush had it coming in my book.

One major difference between Hillary and Sarah is the fact that Hillary doesn't cry about it 24/7.

I would love to see a showdown between the two of them myself. Mu moneys on Hillary.

Fri. 11/20/09 04:21 PM

Funny that

"some faults of Hillary Clinton"

We aren't talking about "faults" Bo. If it were that simple, I would have said nothing. You diminish the cruel names and attacks on her appearance that have graced these pages. I just say Karma happens.

Fri. 11/20/09 04:17 PM

Funny that

Read my post again Bo. I never said 2 wrongs make a right. Slow down, collect your breath. Just consider the history of it Bo. I notice how you deliver the sermon while taking your shots as well. You are no better than the people you speak of.
