CyberSurvey: Senate health reform plan

Pretty much a fact the government cannot even manage Medicare along with many other botched programs. Notice I said "GOVERNMENT", not Repubs, not Dems but our inept government! To go back to the days of the 10k toilet seat would be far better then what we have now. It's all about "Billions" in Medicare fraud every year? We the tax payers are footing the bill for another program mismanaged by our government. Government replies "we don't have enough people to monitor the situation"??? Well get off you duff and hire some qualified folks! We are losing Billions which probably could be used to fund a good health care program and have some change left over?

So again...until Washington can prove to me they can manage OUR tax dollars responsibly...NO, NO, NO more money! We citizens are tapped out and the few of us that are still working are barely getting by! You want money? Go ask your crooked friends with the banks, Wall Street and oh maybe the Oil Companies that have been ripping us off for years? Seems like everytime you turn around now a days some government official has their hand in your pocket and I am sick of it!!!

Strippers

Refractometer,

Hmmmm, that must have been a surprise?

Yes they do employee some rather big hunks of meat for bouncers. Rumpus Room on seven mile was like that, but that goes way back to another time. I guess a guy with a fist bigger then your head can make you "get religion real quick"! I think it was more fun to watch the other drunks and see what kind of stupid stuff they were going to pull? It was an experience all done in fun.

Strippers

Ah yes another prime exmaple of another "battle" being started in the name of religion. Heck with this I am going to check out the "houses of ill repute" on 8 mile!

Strip Club Regulations

You actually have a Road King 2000? Great bike! And yes these pompous hypocrites should clean up their own back yards before venturing out and ruining others? Just as much damage being done by preachers and such as their is by patrons and dancers at these clubs.

Fri. 11/20/09 04:00 PM

Geez

Stimulus 101...purchase fishing gear, bow's, spears, etc for thousands of out of work folks. Set up "all you can eat" dinner for reasonable price. Proceeds from dinner to help less fortunate. Orrr take the catch and feed it to the "sharks" on "Wall Street"? Oh wait a minute...they are land based "bottom feeders"?

Buckeyes

jjhunsacker,

Agreed, it's part of the "game". Pluman, the ohio fan blew a gasket after reading Wojo's article. Sports writers are known for their sarcasm and ability to get "a rise out folks". That's their job? Appears the Mighty Wojo has accomplished his mission as he has this poor buckeye fan so mad he cannot see straight? Wojo is a realist though and buckeye fan should note Wojo did pick OSU, 24-9. So relax. Big Ten is pitifully weak and needs to beef up. "10 yards and a cloud of dust", I do miss those days but even back the west coast was usually bad news for the Big Ten. But we can always hope the Ghost of Bo shows up Saturday but again it's only a hope?

No need to blow a gasket right? Like you said the Ohio papers are out doing pretty much the same thing?

macomb drunk driver help

Erratic driving? Could be caused by several things, drinking, dope or even a physical condition such as heart attack, insulin shock, etc. Point is report it...you may save the suspected driver's life and the innocent bystander(s)? Sure a "swerve once" might not constitute an issue but continued abnormal behavior should trigger a flag? No one is asking you carry a "breathalyzer"? Not being, a snitch just trying to protect EVERYONE including the driver in question?

CyberSurvey: Backing Palin?

OK...Palin...too many unknowns. Probably not ready for prime time in Washington? Palin cannot really do much damage in her current position which is common citizen. Now Pelosi..she really scares me because she literally has "one the best seats in the House" AND she is next in line after the VP if something happens to the President? NOW that should really scare you if you are concerned about her credentials? Now which one is in the best position to do the most damage or good at the moment? Personally...if you want Pelosi you can have her, not me. And Palin, she needs more experience and to prove herself before moving into a more influential position.

CyberSurvey: Revise term limits?

Term limits are not the answer. YOUR VOTE IS. You don't like the policies or strategies of a politician...don't vote for them. And I do agree we do not want a "turnstile" form of government with "trainees" in the seats all the time? We should be allowed to vote for who WE think is the best candidate? Only problem I see is it seems we are usually voting for the "lesser of two evils" instead of a real genuine, bonafide candidate? Just not enough good candidates to go around I guess?

Palin

I am sure the reception Palin receives in wacko Amway country is far different than the greeting she would get in a more rational venue like Ann Arbor.

wolveinsocal, Long Beach, CA

Palin is one story but apparently you know nothing about the folks in Michigan? Hate to burst your baloon but "Ann Arbor" a rational community? The ones that gave us the annual "pot fest"? I do agree AA is a very nice area. BUT...Grand Rapids is also, it's high tech and high income. 28th street, the main road through GR is the second busiest hwy in Michigan. BTW...Amway is based in ADA, a small community east of Grand Rapids. Folks in both GR and AA are quite prosperous and well educated. I don't think the highly educated and prosperous folks in Grand Rapids and surrounding area would appreciate your comments? Hmmmm Gerald R. Ford was raised in Grand Rapids, would you have considered him to be one of the wackos?

Health Care? Fix Medicare First !!!

Juan,

I do agree we all need to make our government aware of our true "wants and needs". Easier said than done. I am sure many of us would love to literally be on the Senate floor and have someone "listen" then actually do the right thing, that which is truly best for our country.

The sad fact is we are being represented by a bunch of "sheep". Look at the legislature roll call/vote for the health care bill...it's almost all by "party"? This leads me to believe these people really did not read/understand the bill...just pretty much voted to spite each other instead of watching out for our best interests? What is a person supposed to believe in anymore? Look at the discussions on this Forum. Someone says it's conservative or liberal and then the "listening" stops and the battles begin? I don't vote the party, I vote hopefully for the best idea and the candidate supporting it.

"Right/Left" I don't see much of a "signal/direction" from either? More like the "4 ways" are stuck on and nobody has clue which direction to go? But I will keep hoping, maybe there is another "give em he!! Harry Truman" out there? I do love this country and believe in God. But you are right..."is anyone listening"?

Health Care? Fix Medicare First !!!

***The facts and figures presented by CBS's Steve Kroft were disturbing as were the details concerning how shysters bilk the system for an estimated $60 billion a year.***

Several articles and much discussion about current "Medicare fraud"? I will NOT support any government managed health care plan until they can prove to me they can clean up this Medicare mess!!! BILLIONS lost to fraud through a Medicare plan managed by our government? This should scare the living crap out of everyone? The governments excuse? "Well we just don't have enough folks to manage the situation"? You have got to be kidding me??? I am sure there are plenty of qualified folks out that would love a job and a crack at these low life's that are stealing OUR tax dollars! So until our INEPT officials can prove to me they can manage our tax dollars properly and stop this Medicare fraud...FORGET IT WASHINGTON...you are not getting me to drop a dime in your health care bucket! And while you are at please sit down and actually read the proposed health care bill (all 2 gazillion pages) YOURSELF before deciding anything.

Enough is enough...quit bleeding the general public and do your jobs whatever they may be!

U-M audit

Hmmmm...Accused of too much practice time and not filling out the proper logs? It appears RR is mostly likely guilty of faulty record keeping but excessive "practice time"? I think their current record clears them of that allegation?

Mon. 11/16/09 03:25 PM

Her name is/was "Tamara Greene".

Please Detroit News staff...we really don't need to see "stripper" in the headline? Show some respect for Tamara and her family? If anything why don't you show us yours' are really made of "brass" and give us a headline like this...?

"Text messages in Tamara Greene case, alleged victim of Kwame Kilpatrick foul play, to be released to plaintiff's lawyer."
