Yanks Purchase Another Title

"Pro athletes in general are WAY overpaid and you can blame that on the owners"

Norton: Aren't they paid what the market dictates? If you are going to blame anyone, it seems the place to look is at the fans for being so interested in watching men play a boy's game

Yanks Purchase Another Title

***Has anyone even heard of the Kansas City Royals?***

spazolopolis, Detroit, MI,

Yes I have heard of them. Not too long ago the Royals were considered the Yankees "farm team" as they ues to get most of their talent from them? And yes it is true...the Yanks are still "the best team money can buy". Oh well it is true...it's all about the money I guess? Most pro sports now a days are just too "commercialized" for me. Baseball season is way too long with too many teams, Hockey is a joke because they let almost anyone into to the playoffs, basketball is all about dunking and there are no real "skilled shooters/players" out there like the Bird, Magic or Isiah anymore. Football is about the closest thing we have to true pro sport. I have more respect for pro Golf and Tennis as if they get rewarded based on performance.

So many players equals "watered down talent" making the big bucks? Pro athletes in general are WAY overpaid and you can blame that on the owners...they started this mess and the atheletes are just taking advantage of it.

Yanks Purchase Another Title

Why, oh, why does anyone pay attention to a sport in which some teams spend more than 100 million dollars on players than another team, and then wins the championship?

I mean, really. If anything, the media should be burning the Yanks for not winning every single year. Or even the Red Sox for not even making the playoffs.

Spend money, get better players; get better players, win.

What a dull sport. This is a sport among capitalists, like Wall Street. Would we as parents tolerate letting the 6th graders play the 4th graders year after year? But people still spend hard-earned cash on watching the obvious play out, year after year. Has anyone even heard of the Kansas City Royals?
