John Conyers knows

John Conyors knows what he knows. It's that simple. He is a corrupt thug who, at the very least, benefited indirectly (and perhaps even directly) by his wife's illegal activity. And he knows it

He hasn't even attempted to seriously challenge the allegations/implications cast upon him. If he is innocent of any wrongdoing, he could right the ship by simply telling the truth and not ignoring the adorning press.

He needs to step down on all of his positions of trust and call it a day. He has had a good run in Michigan. My guess though is he will not. The longer he stays in office,it is only a mtter of tme before his participation in the graft and corrupt will make the light of day. And he will take the Obama team approach of stonewalling and lying. Eventually that will become old and the good citizens of Detroit will get rid of him.

As Riddle awaits fate, he 'tweets' his displeasure

I say Grady's gonna walk.

There's enough blacks on the jury to get a semblance of an OJ jury.

You need 12 votes to convict, and you're not gonna get it.

Grady is dumb like a fox for asking for a trial by his peers.

Carp

I'm sure that we are going to use the best scientific knowledge to control the carp. Yes,let me see if I have it right, globel warming based on lies from the scientific community, now we are to believe that the same scientific methods are to be applied to the invasion,HUMM. Well good-by to the great lakes fishing industry. Perhaps they should just screen out the carp and make fertalizer with them, oh no can't do that they would cause some sort of environmental super problem that the government would have to spend millions to study and numerous hours of talk to solve nothing.GREAT WORK OBAMA, HOW'S THAT CHANGE WORKING FOR YOU OBAMA SUPORTERS?

Fighting the college that pizza bought

This lady is just another unqualified, privileged white woman. How is that she is just not getting around to getting a Masters Degree?

I know plenty of Blacks, who have worked hard for years, with a Masters, and good performance reviews, that are still working to get to a Director's level. This is disgusting. She was probably fired because of incompetence. They will only carry and cover for you for so long.

Nothing but white privilege.

Obama leading the sheep to the Abattoir?

They are called the PIGS... Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Spain. What they have in common is that all are facing deficits and debts that could bring on national defaults and break up the European Union.

What brought the PIGS to the edge of the abyss?

All are neo-socialist states that provide welfare for poor people, generous unemployment, universal health care, early retirement and comfortable pensions. Most consume 40 percent to 50 percent of their gross domestic product annually, a crushing burden on the private sector.

Dying populations is a second cause. After two world wars, the Europeans lost their faith and embraced hedonism and materialism, la dolce vita. Large families fell out of favor.

For 30 years, the fertility rate of Europe has been below the 2.1 children per woman necessary to replace a population. In Russia and Ukraine, a million people disappear yearly. In Western Europe, the passing of the native-born goes on quietly, as Third World, mostly Muslim immigrants come to fill the empty spaces left by the aborted and unconceived.

These newcomers have neither the education nor skills of the Europeans. Hence, they earn less and contribute less in taxes, but consume more per capita in social benefits.

Then there is globalization. In Europe, wages and taxes are high, regulations heavy, unions strong, and lawyers ubiquitous. Manufacturers, to cut costs, have been outsourcing production to where the labor is cheap and abundant, the unions are nonexistent or weak, and health, safety and environmental regulations are lax. Welcome to China.

Where Greece is at today, however, we shall all arrive tomorrow.

In every Western nation, government is growing beyond the capacity of taxpayers to bear. Deficits and debt are surging. Not enough children are being born to replace parents. The immigrant poor who consume more than they contribute are coming to take the empty places. Seniors and elderly are growing as a share of the population. Companies are saying goodbye to the West and moving offshore to low-wage lands. - excerpts: Pat Buchanan ***

Toyota Issues and Govts position in GM

I had to laugh when your article addressed the fact that the comments on the toyota recall were related to the bact GM was bailed out by the Govt. Sounded a lot like a way to divert attention from the real issue which was Toyota and the NHSTA admin ignored for years what were major safety defects in the Toyota vehicles. This should be the only story. I would be more interested in finding out where everyone was while these problems were happening and taking peoples lives. Where was Consumer Reports too? Interesting that while all these problems were happening the Consumers magazine was silent and promoting how wonderful these care were. It all looks fishy to me and I for one would like to know how this could happen and why people had a blind eye to it all. The cars are obviously unsafe or there wouldnt be a recall. The fact that Toyota did all they could to protect brand instead of fix the issue,as soon as they knew about it,says alot about their company. I for one would be very concerned about my family driving a car with issues like this and trying to smoke screen it as a secondary problem to the govts position in GM is utterly ridiculous.

Just think about this. . .

There are two article in the paper today that may be closer related than they appear at first glance.

The first is a story about GM hiring 1000 workers and going to three shifts; a move that many analysts in the "Car Industry" are calling risky.

The second is a story about how DESPERATE the Obama Administration is to "push job creation in Michigan".

I think we may be seeing a possible problem with letting the Government run your company. I don't know for sure, but it looks like GM may be producing cars that have no buyers. in a government mandated attempt to create jobs for their Union Supporters that otherwise don't exist.

That is, of course, unless the Obama administration has another "Cash for Clunkers" scheme up there sleaves. One designed just for the sale of these GM Cars that have no market??

This is worth watching closely.

BTW: I want to apologize for my last post. I need to slow down when I'm typing and catch errors before I send.

experts evaluate

Is it not ironic that we again recognize the need for nuclear power in this Country. I watched first hand as the "tree huggers" and Jimmy Carter destroyed nuclear development in this Country in the late 70s. There was no way of justifying the need. They ensured that the Midland Nuclear plant would never go operational at the cost of many hundreds of millon dollars to Michigan taxpayers along with a competitive disadvantage for Michigan. This is a reminder that we must forever be wary of these trendy radical groups.
