Blue Care Advantage

What do they mean BCN requesting a $33 hike? They told my spouse and me that our BCA will be increasing $95 per month ea. which is a 109% increase. This along with raising the co-pays by 25% to 150%. Then social security says we are not getting a COLA increases this next year.

31% hike?

Heck, why settle for 31%, why doesn't BCBS just go for 50% and that might last them two whole years before they have to come back for more.

And we thought the universities were out of touch with reality.

I'm sorry but these increases are absolutely unacceptable. Nobody I know has seen their income go up, let alone go up 31% in one year. That is outlandish. I must be in the wrong universe.....

Blue cross blue shield Rate raise

Unbelieveable! they want 1/3 more money per patient more.

Vetrans and seniors did not get a raise for 2010. Yet homeowners taxes went up. Gas is going up, food never came down, clothing went up and now a non-profit medical insurance wants a 1/3 increase in rates.

With over 30 years of dealing with BCBS, I have to say that they are second to none, including the government is wasting money. Report billing for non-existent treatment, BCBS answer, we get billed, we pay, we don't ask questions. it di dnot cost you anything so what's you problem. Just like medicare, if the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted they (The billers)get paid. Regaurdless of whether treatment was recieved from them or not. Billions are lost this way. It happens more in America than anywhere else in the world. Coruption in our government may be slightly controlled (see newspaper) but in the medical profession, coruption runs rampid. I for one do not understand the reason for supplimental insurance. Insurance means I pay now, I get sick you pay, it does not mean I get sik you pay part and I get billed again for 20% of the cost. That's not insurance, thats RAPE of the American people by the insurance corporations and your representatives that allow this kind of practice.

Ruling a blow to proposed Blue Cross rate hike plan

Yes, how about?! Our Medicare Advantage Plan with Blue Cross is jumping from $142/mo to $248/mo.

HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS? Isn't this also under the oversight of the state's Office of Financial Insurance Regulation?

Ruling a blow to proposed Blue Cross rate hike plan

It is about time somebody stood up to these health care providers. The blues crying the blues because they cant't gouge their participants. Maybe they should take a look at the Big 3 and see what they had to do when they lost money. Cut perks, wages, people. Why doesn't these health care providers look at ways of cutting costs rather then demanding higher premiums. Higher premiums, less people can afford it. Less people can afford it less members. Less members, less money. Trickle down effect at work. Lets see as much effort and time spent on cutting their costs as they do at trying to get premium increases.

fe Millions of Dollars

Replace the inept management at Blue Cross and when robert Bobb is finsihed with the Detroit Public Schools rebuilding send him over to Blue Cross. There is so much internal fraud and poor management over there and misappropiated of funds you could probably give Senior a discount. Some people should have gone to jail on many ocassions at BCBS of Michigan
