are you kidding!! Do you realize how many children have died and how many others have been so ill for so long that they are practically incoherent. It is truly bad and I am glad that there is an awareness to this because if it is not caught in the first 48 hours it is deadly!! You are out of your mind to think it is over exagerated, and they are saying the worst isn't coming until spring.

Really? is it the Swine Flu H1N1 virus, or a heavy dose of seasonal flu?
Were there blood tests taken to confirm H1N1, or is it simply speculation?
The H1N1 hype is good for WHO and some government agencies.
Does it not give them political clout?

Ok, this leaves me with questions
I have read that it has been shown that those that get the flu shot are more likely to get the flu (maybe with less severity, I don't know)
So Michigan received 1 million flu vaccines, although it is uncertain how many vaccines were administered at this point.
Michigan has 416,000 or so recorded victims of so called "flu" symptom (this does NOT say they are confirmed swine flu cases !) So of these 416,000 or so people how many of them received the Swine flu shot? It sure would be nice to know that fact, are they recording it when they register the so called "flu symptom" cases? And, how are they registering these cases? Where is the data coming from?
Another question would be in a normal year when the flu hits what is the percentage of population for whom it is fatal, and they die? Not the number of cases, that is meaning less because as populations increase so will the numbers. You have to look at the percentage of the population afflicted.
Another thing I heard was that a few weeks after you receive your first dose of the H1N1 vaccine you must receive a "booster" or you will not be "protected" - So if this is true out of all these people who got the vaccine, did any of them get the "booster" or have they wasted their time getting the shot?
Also I have heard this vaccine has not be completely tested for safety. And, that is contain a Mercury based preservative. (as the past flu shots have also) We have all been told how harmful Mercury is to humans, so what gives with putting it into something you are injecting into people? (google this people - you will find many harmful effects possible from this mercury based preservative) Have we become "human guinea pigs", because the U.S. government about a year ago, devalued us? (for those of you who don't know the U.S. government assigns a value on a person's life- atleast this is what I heard)
One last comment people, ask questions ! Don't let a news story determine how you are going to feel about an issue - most of the time critical facts have been left out:)

99% are recorded as H1N1? Then why is so much regular flu vaccine being made? I think someone is pulling someone's leg here (again). More obama scare tactics?

Wow! Obama makes a simple flu virus an "epidemic". And some want him running health care in this country??? Mmmmmmmkay!
Don't Panic, EDUCATE!
Everyone must take it upon themselves to educate themselves! This epidemic is NOT the government's problem nor is it your neighbor's problem. It is YOUR problem and until each and every citizen takes responsibility for defending against it, we will continue to see tragic consequences. First and foremost, if you suspect that you are not healthy wear a surgical mask to "protect yourself". Those that view the mask as a sign of "sickness not to be spread" are hindering the effort. WEAR THE MASK! Second is sanitation! Wash your hands continuously and cover your mouth with a disposable cloth when you cough. If you are coughing, chances are you have been exposed to the flu virus (Swine or otherwise). Third, take precautions and manage your FEVER. The medical profession has recommended products containing Guaifenesin (for chest congestion) and Phenylephrine (for sinus pressure and nasal congestion) like Robitussin Cough and Cold. Tylenol Sinus Congestion & Pain is a good choice for those who are fighting off a fever. It contains Acetaminophen for the fever. If your fever is higher (above 102), switch between Motrin IB and the Tylenol products every four hours until your fever is low grade, then stick to Tylenol. Lots of fluids and chicken broth (no kidding!). You should feel better after 4-5 days. I am NOT a Medical Doctor, I am a College educated STAY AT HOME MOM! Fourth, eat right and get plenty of rest! Keeping your immune system Top Notch is KEY!!! Last but not least, check on those shut-in or unable to care for themselves! SUNSHINE and FREE-SH AIR are a vital resource. Taking these simple steps may keep you out of Prompt care and out of the Emergency Room. They may even keep you breathing for years to come. The choice is YOURS!!!!! God bless...

16 deaths from swine flu? Where does that rank this disease in terms of deadliness...right next to lightening strikes? Come on, people, this particular flu is a relatively mild one compared to any flu I've had before. I'm not trying to brush off the death of anyone, but I think the media (and many readers) has blown this issue WAY out of proportion.

Thank your Big Brother Gov't for the shortage on the vaccine.They are the ones responsible for the shortage.Makes you wonder about Obama when he said this would be important to have done right and they can't even manufacture enough vaccines.
If BHO can't even get this right how will he run Health Care? IMO just as bad if not worse.

Here is where the frustration comes in for parents that are trying to get their children the H1N1 vaccine...folks getting the vaccine, standing in line and not being turned away.....WHAT!!!! When there is already a shortage why can't these people that are not on the recommended list let the kids and those that truely need it get it first!! Shame on the health depts as well for allowing this to happen when they know there is a shortage at this point!
The result of this mass hysteria....my child is unable to get even a seasonal shot let alone the H1N1 vaccine because 1)people are getting the vaccine that don't fall on the recommended list 2) my pediatrician is out and doesn't expect more 3) Other places like Drug Stores and Grocery Stores in my area won't vaccinate kids younger than 14 and 4)I couldn't even make an appointment like they indicated at my health department because they aren't taking appointments anymore and what appointments they took are supposedly through Jan 2010 - this is insane!!!
I've all but given up as my options have dried up!
