Now I know why their called "special". In the Lions case they should be called the "Pathetic Teams". Alright, pathetic teams get out there, muff that ball, forget to block, hold your opp......ahhhh what the hell, you guys know what to do better than I do.

Looks like the special teams: Hanson, Harris, returners, and White are the positives in this game.

Did anyone really expect the Lions to stop Brees?

Dumb penalties follow this team, even with a new cast.

Glad the game isn't on up here today.

Special Teams

to me is the most improved part of the team over the offseason as far as upgrading talent goes.Derrick Williams had a poor combine running the forty in only 4.66.So I did some research and found he has consistently run in the high 4.3s to low 4.4s.A guy can have a bad day!Then I looked at more tape and found he comes out quickly from his cuts.More than a few guys like Spencer and Heller were also very good special teams players.Also adding Banta as a assitant special teams coach was a good move.I didn't like the Williams pick because I like the big bubbas first,but it should help this team!

One thing that has been rarely mentioned is that the improvement in special teams players in both free agency and the draft.This could be the most improved aspect of the Lions.
