The defense was so sad to watch--all of those plays against the Browns---only the Lions. But they came back. Stafford, Johnson, and Pettigrew were sweet. They can't run the ball.

Bryant Johnson is only decent as a #2 wide-out. They have so many holes on defense--end, corner, dt, safety opposite Delmas. Ot, but on that last drive, especially but for a fleeting moment it didn't matter if they were 1-8. Even against a team like the Browns, I don't remember a Lions

qb leading a team to victory on final drive. Stafford's game

kind of reminded me of Mitchell's game against Dolphins bad

early on--better as the game went along, Lions won this one

though. Stafford has the tools and he is tough. He is having

his ups and downs but he is a very solid nfl qb.If only his

o-line was as tough as he is.

As the game was blocked out, and the Lions are already mathematically eliminated from having a winning season let alone make the playoffs, I didn't get to see this game.

It took several last moment events, pass interference, etc etc, but in the end, the Lions did what they should have, they actually won at home against an equally struggling team.

Stafford has 5 touchdowns and 400 yards, and nearly didn't finish the game. Still a win is a win and a loss is a loss.

Albeit, its only the second win compared to 8 losses.

Your smoking crack. When you are ranked near the bottom at the pack in offense for 10 years, what does that tell you about your offensive line?

When you are ranked either 30th, 31st, or 32nd in rushing for 10 years does that say more about your quarterback or your running back or your offensive line?

Almost every pass yesterday was a short one. Did it take the receiver 4 seconds to go 8 yards downfield, or is that more indicative of an offensive line that cannot block?

When your coach says he specifically designed the play calling that way it is because your quarterback with a rocket arm cant throw downfield or is it because your offensive line cannot give him 3 seconds to wait for the receivers to get downfield?

Again, I dont know what their biggest need is, OL or DL or Secondary, but to say that OL is definately not your biggest need is silly.

Mr Kelly you are correct. Where do you start? You start by taking the BPA regardless of where he plays. I believe the Lions did that in the 09 draft. This year I think they can get a little more specific. One thing I would like to see them do is move A Brown to the slot. If he can catch it, you wont catch him.

Pick the best 5 lineman in the NFL and plug them in at Detroit and see if they win. My guess is they won't. They have 1 receiver, hurt and zero talent on defense. Even the kicker is beginning to miss chip shots.

On the field, the OLine is their biggest problem. If they cannot score, they will lose. Mr Kelly is spot on. But they defense is also sorely lacking, and the secondary is the worst in football. But most Olinemen cannot come in and make a diff like a defensive player can. Get protection for Stafford, then build the defense. If CJohson continues to underachieve, trade him.

Your stats don't mean anything. Of course the QB is going to get hit if he stands all day looking for his only receiver (who happens to hurt) to get open and has no running back picking up anything. It's not all the O line. Yeah, could they use some new talent. Sure, but they have bigger problems than the O line.

Just curious, did you watch the game at all yesterday? 50 drop back, 38 hits, hurries and or sacks? That's over 70 percent of the time he was murdered back there.

Nobody is saying they don't need CB, DT, but how can you watch this team and thing the OL is not horrific?

Probably the most pressing reason is Stafford. 72 Million reasons to give him some protection. Do you want another David Carr or any of the other of dozen QB's who were crushed before they could even get started?

Its nearly impossible to prioritize what is most needed between NT, LG, LT, CB, but again OL certainly deserves to be in the mix.

I keep reading on here about how the Offensive line sucks and needs to be upgraded. I don't know what people are watching but the O line seems to be the least of the Lions worrys. Yeah, they aren't the Pats where they plug in a tackle nobody heard of and he flattens one of the best of the Colts defensive lineman play after play. The Lions need a defense and a running game. The O-line and QB are all they have. And Johnson can't do it all by himself. Granted I haven't watched a lot this year but I haven't seen anything that leads me to critize the O line every 10 minutes.

Typical dropped passes, turnstile on the OL leading to Stafford being hurried, or sacked. How many times do they need to learn to stop arm tackling and wrap their man? Now the game is turning into a rout as they are wearing down. 2 more recruiting classes to get back to decency. Major help needed at DT, DE, CB and OL.

Don't need old washed up veterans to maybe win one more game this year.I don't mind them picking up young guys for the practice squad like Peerman though.Remember Harrison was on the practice squad and was cut twice before he came on.It does happen.Peerman does have 4.4 speed so its little risk for the Lions. It's not like one of these veterans are going to put them over the top.Has the dumbing down reached the erudite Lions forum?

In all this no one seems to be saying anything about the kicking of Jason Hanson. His kickoffs continually allow for great field position for the other team. Missing a 30+ yard field goal doesn't help either. Is it time the Lions looked for a younger kicker who can put the ball in the end zone?

No Lions.
