Curry
Levy better than Curry?
A guy who can't beat out Sims, shirley you jest.
Stafford for president,
Curry
Everyone keeps talkin up Curry. I also, was in favor of drafting Curry. But I never considered him the rare talent some of you do. Willis was much more suited to the Lions. As I said earlier, Deandre Levy may end up being better than Curry.
Curry
The Lions have just blown all of their leverage. Curry was willing to take $30 Mil. All they had to offer Stafford was $30 mil guaranteed. If Condon didn't like it the Lion's should have moved on and drafted Curry.
The Lions had the leverage and did not use it.
So they end up overpaying for an unproven QB.
They have also taken away a lot of their options.
They have to draft defense with then next two picks and they still need to draft a quality O-Linman. I would have loved to have taken Curry at 1 and traded my 20 and 33 to the Patriots for their 23, 34, 47 and 58.
This is the same old Lions. All of us lemmings just keep on following.
Curry
Was the smart pick, and with the 17 MILLION or so they would have saved, they could have have more depth to the roster. How do you justify 47 MILLION to a guy who has never taken a snap in the NFL, where's the Guarantee that he wont be a bust?? The NFL is nuts paying these rookies all this guaranteed money, they are not worth it, and teams like the Lions suffer for it.
Curry
is rated the #1 LB at both MLB and OLB by many sights. What's wrong with Curry MLB,Jerry or Hood next and Brace at #33!Middle of the D is fixed.Value pick in third round is a safety and you have a pretty good D.
Curry
i would hope to see the lions get curry or raji with that first pick.the problem with drafting curry is the amount of money he would be getting picked at #1.i just went back and looked at patrick willis contract amount for 2007.he signed a 5 yr 16.7 mill contract.now he was taken #11 as opposed to a 1st pick but even then curry would be making 2 1/2 times as much.so thats the problem the offense is going to be the only one close to that kind of money.so in my opinion they will take stafford sad to say....
Curry
still say lions should let it out that they take sanchez and then parley it into extra picks while moving down only a few slots.
Curry
has said he would actually take less guaranteed money than last year's #1.This D can be fixed this year, but Lions must go D with the first three picks to do this.If it's O with first two picks, then nothing has changed.I like what the brain trust has done so far.We shall see after the draft if they were true to their word of building inside out.
curry
give Stanton a chance, draft Curry so our defense can get off the field
curry
i am sure its old news now but i see curry's agent's were at practice...i sure hope this isnt some smoke screen for stafford...it would really take care of the d to get curry in and pick up a few more d players before the 3rd...
Curry
I would hate to miss out on a player because some jackass says you dont take a LB at #1. Who else out there will be able to come right in and contribute? Stafford? Sanchez? By the time either of these two see the field, Curry will be a 3rd year starter and barring injury, maybe getting a sniff at a pro bowl
Curry
When you need a MLB bad as hell, and a guy like Curry comes along, when you are the Lions and there is a Junior QB, who has poor judgment and is inconsistent, its a no brainer, you take the QB. LOL.
Curry
I think Curry will be a good LB but I'm not sure he is worthy of Nr 1 overall. It's rather unfortunate the Lions are stuck with the Nr 1 overall since there doesn't seem to be a player worth that kind of money. And more on Curry, Ok he wasnt' ask to rush the passer in college. I wonder why.
Curry
The top 4 guys in the draft are Curry, Stafford , Smith and Monroe. Stafford will get the most money if we pick him and will then ride the pine and has a very high bust potential. No thanks. Monroe has had knee issues. No thanks. Smith has only played 7 GAMES at LT and many GM's have him where Clady was last year, About #12. We can get similar LT talent at the 20 or maybe even the 33 pick. Thats how bad this years draft is at the top. Curry is rated the safest pick by most experts and is able to move inside according to most experts. And if he can't handle the inside, Peterson is 31 and won't be around too long and we can move Curry outside then. Although...IMO he will be fine. IMO... in most drafts all these guy's except Curry aren't even top 10 talent. Sim's is a smurf compared to Curry. Really, I will trust the Schwartz to make the right pick. BPA is the way to go. If it's BPA I think it's Curry. If it's for Potential it will probably be Stafford. I just want to out score the other guy's.
Curry
If you are drafting Curry at #1 it better be for the Outside! That is his value to make plays comming off the edge. His value as a MLB is not #1 or even top 10 grade! And if you're drafting him to play outside, then I guess you're giving up up another high draft choice, Sims. That sets the team back another season. If I'm going D I'm drating a pass rushing DE which the Lions haven't made a high priority since Porche. I'd draft Orakpo at DE and hope that Maualuga is still there at 20. I would not draft any of the top 3 OT with the #1 pick. All of them are reaches at #1. "Smith is a converted TE who needs to add 20 lbs. He is inexperienced at tackle, needs to inprove footwork. Monroe: "Has issues with his knees, carrying too much weight in the mid-section, Oher "Faces doubt about being an elite player, needs to be tougher, faces questions about the mental part of the game, will struggle with top speed rushers, also questions about his passion for the game" Smith: "Maturity". Then I'd try to trade up a few spots to get Mack.
