i gotta go but will page back, where do you stand now. you were all d but sounded like you were understanding or at leasting thinking o. with all the d pickers sounding off here and stafford hurting and who knows about thursday? and that was cleveland that knocked him out, not someone good. how you thinking about 2010 draft now?

You know scratch, I keep reading that too,(about Hill and Foote) but when I watch the games I see big chunks of yardage being gained up the middle. Jackson and Peterson just powered up the gut, so I cant really say why they are saying that about Hill and Foote.

I just hope the Lions draft a guy that makes them better. Backus actually got an "attaboy" recently in a write up, but anything to upgrade the oline and DB's works for me. Last year the LB's also were bad, none of the current guys are playing probowl ball, but the group seems to have shut people up about the LB's. I have kind of stepped away a little bit this season lately because I have been so busy, and just tired of bad football. The Lions "Happen" every week and I tune in here to see how they looked. I do agree the coming offseason moves will tell a lot. 1-24 since 07 makes it pretty hard to stay interested. There are positives this year with young players and new coaches, and th outlook is WAY better then it was at this time last year.I'm not one that cares about WCF or ticket prices or how much people think he's purpously ripping people off. I just want to see the Lions get better before checkout time for me! I was born in 1960, so I had an early start as the youngest of a family from that decade. I'm the "Black sheep" in the family. If I had only stayed in school I coulda been a rocket mechanic!

cotchety??? if i could walk more than to the bathroom maybe. 50 plus years of the same is not negativity its reality. just like unions, the protecterate and what kept the lobbyists at bay with equalized backing. if the hoffa's had just kept their money making ways above board and stayed with their very fair self shares we would be a different country with a different economy today. but busting the unions busted the equalized voice between the upper and mass middle class. now middle class is barely working class. no one stopped to say gee i am making 60,000/yr hanging bumpers while my kids are being taught by educaters who went through the college route and will be in debt for years are making half as much. much the same as nurses making the same half but doctors playing gods making up to 7 figures. ford is no different from grand pappy on. with no competition he just liked the honor and there was enough talent for all to get some and take turns be good or almost good. then came the good challenge the afl. did ford compete or care..no. he had his buttman thomas and one did not care and the other did not know. just the same then as it is now. the difference is a schwartz is confident in himself not just thankful to have a head coaching job like the list before him. i will give mooch a pass (being a michigan man and his msu buddy and all) as i think he liked the idea too much to understand/see the true dynamics of what was happening above ground level and with the fans in lion town. but i am too glad to see you seeing they have invested too much in stafford and with that decision they have too go his way or its all over the place and no one thing getting fixed. on the d side i have said a few times now the msu kicker is the best they can do for the d now while building the o in depth and starters hopefully. he can make everyone start from the 20 at least. and i like hansen but the surgery and age has written his ticket. he is hof on a very losing team of the hof is bull. if they had not done the stafford/pettigrew thing i would be qith your earlier desires all the way. it was such a great year to start in that direction. what curry and cashman or one of the others 1 & 20 with pick 33 coming. and now this year with the guys you like from suh to berry to mays to the bama moose. but they didn't. they picked a different route and to abandon it to me anyway is the same way they have done things for decades. do you think the pitts, dallas, 49'ers, pats, etc. would have wasted barry the way the lions did. heck dallas made it seem smith was barry's equal or better. but i still remember what i think was detroits last monday night when barry showed with a team going nowhere against "america's team" which cock ran the hen house. anyway just a few non jamie joycie, not negativity, but reality. take care guy, later.

Lets just say that the Lion's were stuck with the Golden Boy. I can understand that, and I can live with that. I still think a decent alternative would have been to slide down and pick Curry at #4. Save a ton of money and send a message to Goodell that the intended compensation that the #1pick should be to the bottom feeder is not working. Then with pick #2 I would have taken Mack! I've always been OK with Delmas (though I wouldn't have been so hasty to trade Alexander) but in round 3 I would have taken Urbek. Urbek and Ziggy Hood don't start for the Steelers I know. But the Steelers are the Super Bowl Champs, have plenty of players who can play at these positions, and are preparing these guys to step in, in a year or two. They are extremely happy with these guys and as usual, the Steelers will remain at the top, and the Lions will remain at the bottom.

Why'dya think?

any good OG's in this draft? After watching Peterman get it handed to him again this week, looks like a replacement is needed. Props to Backus for the job he did on Allen. Now about all them dropped passes.....

Was never much for hunting, because it requires going outside when it's cold. As for fishing, it's World Class right where I am, and you can do it 12 months a year without having to drill holes to get to the water........ever!

I feel a strong kinship with the fakawi tribe. We have much in common.

Gosder probably could have been had lower than where the Lions picked him, but he is turning out to be better than you expected isn't he? He is very competitive and has that nice mean streak. I suspect that he will continue to get better over the years and will be what we expect from a 1st round pick.

So exactly what is it that you don't like about the 3rd rd pick Williams anyway?

Fri. 11/06/09 08:37 PM

Not sure why that came through twice, but you do have two ears, right?

So, can you?

Just looked up Revis and he was the guy from Pitt, was there another CB from Cal that I'm thinking about?
