Dude ? I'm the guy who wants it to work . Trust me!!
But just sit right back and you'll hear a tale..
A tale Detroit Drive :
ArenaBowl Championships 4
ArenaBowl Appearances 6
Overall 58-12
Home 31-8
Away 25-4
Neutral Site 2-0
Overtime 1-0
Reg. Season 46-10
Playoffs 12-2
Attendance 563,095
Average 14,438
Don't get me wrong the market for the CFL is there becuase of the fact . Because the season has NO
direct competition . The season gets into full swing at the end of NBA finals . I totaly understand your point of the Skydome .
KKB
Those Jordan/Rodman NBA Championships were a joke. Talk about the League Commisioner handing His Airness Trophies on a silver platter! Those were the WWE days of the NBA, pure silliness and entertainment. That wasn't sports, that was bad acting.
Cold Beer
The problem is, I'm out. Waiting for the 1st of the month when I gets my SSI Check. I have everything I need except Ajax and Chlorine.
Tate Forcier sucks.

Now THAT is some good Lions insight. Thanks buddy.
Yo Lions4sale and Kneel. Put the CFL team in Windsor and let the Detroit population go see it. College football doesn't suck, just 70% of the games do. But the kids that go to the schools love it anyway.
Florida vs. Florida Int. in November is a joke. Those games should be early in the year as a pre-season type game. The big school warms up and the little school makes some bucks. But late in the year it just pads the stats for the big boys run at the mythical national championship. It's a bunch of kids, why do we care? There are so many colleges, just win your conference, go to a bowl game and be done with it. Why does a "National Championship" matter? Do the high schools need a national champ too? How about junior high? Grammar school? Leave championships to the pro's. Let the kids learn to compete fairly and be "good sports".
There are plenty of college games that are a big deal...
Michigan vs. Ohio State is a big deal every year no matter who is on the down swing. Oklahoma vs. Nebraska, USC vs. UCLA, Alabama vs. Auburn, Notre Dame vs. ANYBODY, on and on. Games like that are always big to at least the local areas. That's why there is no need for a WFA, a USFL, a UFL, or your beloved CFL. The NFL is where the best go, yes even the freaking Lions. No need for minor league when you have college football.
And Kneel, as for your love of the "outdoor" game... I am not a huge fan of the Silverdome or Astrodome type of field. I loved playing in all kinds of weather, be it rain, snow or even a little heat. But watching from the stands is a different case. Today in Michigan, with the 50 degrees and no wind it's a beautiful thing. Even a light rain or some snow? Not too bad either. But 35 degrees and a driving wind with heavy rain, or freezing rain while waiting for yet ANOTHER television time out? No thanks. I'll take the technology of today and say close the roof on the retractable dome. Ever been to Ford Field? It's not bad. Doesn't have that "plastic" feel. The turf is so much better than the Jiffy-Pop dome it's incredible.
But if you guys want to cry about outdoor stadiums and a Canadian team as you continue your boycot, go for it. I'll keep rooting for the lowly Lions in comfort.
losing lions
Why show up. You will lose because the lions are losers, losers losers losers LOSERS LOSERS LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and on and on and on agian.

If it's done right, it could work. There would be 10 to 15k that would come over from Windsor. So there would only have to be 10 to 15K from the Detroit area. They would have to build a stadium to scale (25 to 30K) and it would have to be an attractive place with a park like setting and real grass. People would go, and have a good time. It would be cheaper than the Lions and within a couple of years they would be a contender (we know that will never happen with the Lions). What has been tried before was destined to fail. A massive domed stadium with Astro turf, half full, NO CHANCE! Remember the soccer teams (Detroit Express etc.)? They didn't stand a chance because they were trying to sell a product out of a massive 80K domed stadium, with the soccer markings printed over the football gridiron on plastic grass. They would be lucky to get 10k lost souls at those games watching the soccer ball bounce around like a ping pong ball! That was just a bad idea! A couple of years back Toronto got an MLS franchise. They built a 20K stadium for it and every game has been sold out since day one! The Argos play at the Rogers Center (Skydome). It holds 60K. They only get 25K at the games and it sucks BIG TIME. Everything has to be kept within it's scale. There is a market for it if it's done right. Problem is, people are too greedy and imagine it may be crazy successful and there will be people lined up outside that they can't make money off of!
Wolverines Reduced to Lion Status
seems the battle of ohio isn't starting out good, but there is always tomorrow.

Go stafford
Wolverines Reduced to Lion Status
KKK rassist is back . Welcome back homey!
No college football sucks because there is NO competition . Its the only sport that I know of where they vote for the champion . You say "every stadium is packed" That doesn't qualify it as a good sport . Over 144,000 idiots out here go to see NASCAR . Me unlike you , I need competition to enjoy a sport . For example last years "National Champion" was Florida . It should have been 13-0 Utah . That dear lady is why college football does nothing for me .
Wolverines Reduced to Lion Status
Lions4sale feels that college football sucks. Good thing most of the country disagrees. After all, college football stadiums fill alot more seats than pro games do on a weekly basis. Lousy Michigan still fills 100,000 plus seats every home game, while the NFL Lions cant even fill 60,000 seats.
Could it be you are bitter because all you have in Las Vegas are professinal gamblers, instead of pro sports teams? Las Vegas will never get a pro team, because its not a real city. Its basically a giant Casino campus, surrounded by casino employee housing, in a stark lifeless desert. They will run out of water before they ever get a team.
Neil Mac
Detroit would never support CFL . The "fans" are a bunch of primadonna "if it's not NFL I'm not going" whiners .
Look at all the other attempts at another football league .
This is why UFL will never go . And other leagues will never go to Detroit .
Hey Hey!
Michigan are putting up a fight. Maybe we should wait till the game is over before firing RichRod!
Wolverines Reduced to Lion Status
College football sucks .
gEORGE;
The better question would be ...Has ANDY ever been right? He's about as spot on as WCF'S draft choices! Who's gonna be the "CARROT" next year? DANGLE, DANGLE! Gotta keep the "fans" coming to Fraud Field! FORGET IT GRAMPS! Fewer and fewer each year are buying into your crap of a team! IF you had a clue, it would be the first you ever had, Willie!
Wolverines Reduced to Lion Status
Until two years ago, football fans from the Detroit area could always defer to the Michigan Wolverines when it became clear once again that the Lions were worthless. Sadly, the Wolverines are now in direct competition with the Lions for football futility. It really sucks that the greatest sport of all is so poorly represented in Michigan.
I couldnt care less about hockey. Its like soccer on ice. Hours of constant action, but no scoring. I would trade ten Stanley Cups for ONE Super Bowl appearance. And the NBA hasnt been fun since the final Jordan/Rodman Bulls championship.
After so many decades of UM football success, where we took for granted at least 8 wins and a bowl game every year, theyve been reduced to the Lions of the Big Ten. Ugh!
