PT Game report Henry Ford CC vs Owens
Hello Everybody in forum land!! Last night ventured to the home of Blue Oval (Ford) to watch Henry Ford CC play Owens CC in basketball.
There were several young men I had coached or knew from high school and AAU that I wanted to see play.
These are the young men that want to continue there basketball careers at the next level.
The first 10 minutes very competitive at one point it was Henry Ford CC 20 Owens 15. Then Owens started having problems with turnovers and at the half way point the score was Henry Ford CC 43 Owens 29. At halftime the leading scorers for Ford were #21 De'Angelo Penman Robichaud abd #32 Terrance Tubbs Ypsilanti both had 8 points. For Owens there leading scorer was #24 Jonathan Dunn St. Johns Toledo he had 9 points.
The second half Owens tried to get back into the game by forcing turnovers and speeding up the game. A few times they got within 6 points but Henry Ford went into a modified delay and game and held them off.
Final score Henry Ford CC 89 Owens CC 77.

PT Game report Oakland vs Eastern BB
Hello Everybody in forum land!! Decided to take in a Saturday night college basketball game at the Orena in Auburn Hills Oakland University vs Eastern Michigan.
Eastern Michigan took a lead early and held on to it for the rest of the game. Eastern led at halftime 42 Oakland 35.
The lead was usually 3-7 points and Eastern controlled the tempo by hitting there shots and not letting Oakland run until late in the game. Carlos Medlock who was hurt last season did a great job making sure that everyone got there share of shots. Not until late in the game when Johnathon Jones got hot did Oakland get close. Oakland had a chance to tie on there last possession but they missed a three and Eastern controlled the lose ball final score Eastern 81 Oakland 77. Hurting Oakland was there many missed free throws. Best dunk of the game Keith Benson (2) alley oops!!!
Starting for the Eastern Michigan Hurons.
#1 Jay Higgins 6'6" Fayetteville, NC. Forward
#3 Carlos Medlock 6'0" Detroit Guard

PT Game report SHS vs SE
Hello Everybody in forum land!! The Stevenson game against Southeastern was everything the playoffs are all about. I great crowd a great game and an exciting finish.
Southeastern Kicked off to Stevenson and Jason Fraccassa on the first drive threw 65 yard td pass after a good PAT SHS 7 SE 0.
After turning the ball over on downs to SHS the Jungaleers then intercepted Jason and returned the ball to the SHS 16 yard line. After a short drive SE scored missed PAT score SHS 7 SE 6.
SHS then kicked a field goal which SE answered with a 36 yard td run by#10 Paris Powell end of the 1st qtr SE 13 SHS 10.
In the 2nd qtr SHS scored (2) td's and SE (1) the halftime score SHS 24 SE 20.
The 3rd qtr Jason threw a TD pass #4 Marcus Beaurem after 3 qtrs SHS 31 SE 20.
In the 4th qtr SE tried to mount a comeback they scored (2) one a 40 yard td run by #8 James Irving. The final score SHS 38 SE 32.
This really could have been a blow out but there at least 4 long pass plays that were excuted by Jason Fraccassa that his wide receivers dropped (2) were sure touchdowns. Hampering SE's comeback was the injury to #10 Paris Powell.
There was some curious calls one involved the SE quarterback he was called for grounding when it appeared that maybe he was horse collored down and then the SE coaching staff was flagged for questioning the call.
All in all a great game Dry Phoenix thanks for saving me a seat!!
Tried to check out the Canton vs CC game and it was a zoo decided not to fight the crowds and left.
Next week I will travel to Ferndale to watch the DLS vs Inkster game and Troy to see the SHS vs Last train to Clarkston!!
Dry Pheonix, Big DVI and GPDAD what are your plans?? Dry and HS football fan I would love to meet you for breakfast at Hambo's on Woodward just North of Nine mile if you are interested??
To all the winners good luck this week and all the teams that were eliminated still a great season!!

PT Some thoughts SE vs SHS Canton vs CC
Hello Everybody in forum land!! GP Dad Southeastern has the best defense of any high school team I have seen play this year. If they manage there turnovers they will be tough to beat even if Jason Fraccassa has a great game.
SHS best running back is hurt so this might play a part to in game planning. My pick here Southeastern.
Canton vs CC very interesting game as Tom Markowski said yesterday the offense that Canton runs CC runs to so there defense should be prepared. However Canton in the three games I have seen them play have scored 44, 42 and 60 points. They are rolling this also should be a great game my pick here Canton and homecooking!!
And DLS reward if the win they get to play Inkster next week!!
Dryphoenix and HS text me this afternoon I will be comming from Clawson to watch the SHS vs Det SE game.
Good luck to everybody tonight and tomorrow!!

PT Game report Southeastern VS Cass
Hello Everybody in forum land!! PT is hoping before the playoffs are over that he will see at least one barn burner.
After seeing Canton dismantle AA Pioneer I was hoping for a close game at Renn. Southeastern vs Cass. Like the Canton game it was close for one quarter as Cass held SE to a touchdown and two point conversion score after one quarter SE 8 Cass 0.
Southeastern's offense then started clicking and they scored 20 points while again shutting down Cass Tech's offense score at Halftime SE 28 Cass 0.
Neither team scored in the third quarter.
Paris Powell #10 put the exclamation point on this game by scoring a 65 yard touchdown run and then a 96 yard touchdown run on successive drives late in the fourth quarter. Final score Southeastern 41 Cass Tech 0.
This sets up another interesting game next week at Stevenson. I have only seen Sterling Heights Stevenson play once but it was an impressive win against Dakota. When I was at Southeastern I did notice that there were some Stevenson players and coachs sitting in the stands on the Southeastern side. I like Southeastern's defense but how do you pick against the Titans the mighty, mighty Titans??
Dry Phoenix and high school football fan save me a seat this should be a dandy!!
Special shout out to the Ferndale Eagle marching band they were the top band in their flight at the State competition held this weekend at Ford Field!!
Shout out to GP DAD his son is part of the Grand Valley State football team that beat Wayne State and clinched a GLIAC Championship!!
Everyone have a great day!!

PT Game report Canton vs AA Pioneer
Hello Everybody in forum land!! Well Ann Arbor Pioneer gave Canton a game for about one quarter. This was one of those games that started out like a shootout and maybe the last team with the ball would win.
Canton received the opening kick off then marched right down the field and scored the games first touchdown. Canton then held AA Pioneer on downs then botched the ensuing punt. They scored tie game 7-7. Canton answered with another long drive and this is were the game turned. With the score Canton 14 AA Pioneer 7 and Pioneer driving Canton intercepted the ball at midfield. They then took advantage of the short field and scored Canton 21 AA Pioneer 7. Canton dominated the second quarter matching their first qtr production 21-7 halftime score Canton 42 Ann Arbor Pioneer 14.
Canton would eventually score 61 points. The only bright spot for Ann Arbor Pioneer in the second half was a long touchdown catch and run by University of Michigan bound Ricardo Miller.
PT Phily got a chance to meet Herman Moore former Detroit Lions receiver who was doing color for the MHSAA.com website and Comcast broadcast. I asked Herman is there any way he could come out of retirement and help break the Lions 9 year road losing streak.
Next weeks game against CC offers the classic irresistible force Canton's offense against the imoveable object CC's defense!! These teams have a history and in the past CC has knocked Canton out of the playoffs but my prediction here is Canton. There offense moved the ball down the field so quickly and their offensive line really looks impressive!!
Everyone have a great day!!

PT 2009-2010 Officially year of the Guard!
Hello everybody in forum land!!
The 2009-2010 has officially been declared the year of the guard both shooting and point. My opinion the best class of senior Guards this decade. Keith Appling Pershing, Ray McCallum Jr Detroit Country Day, Trey Zeigler Mt. Pleasant and Maurice Jones Saginaw Arther Hill. What kind of guard play will your favorite high school have??
With Brandon Kearney committing to MSU this morning it seems that the Spartans now have a pipeline from the PSL. Jud Heathcote and Tom Izzo once in a while would pluck a player or two from the PSL now it seems that MSU has committed to recruit in the PSL.
Todays question how will guard play for your favorite high school team be?? Give me some names that you think need to be included with the names above. The only requirement is they either play point or shooting guard and that you comment on there abilities.
High school football playoffs not only has the coverage been spotty at best but when the teams are listed with incorrect locations that is poor journalism! Come on Tom Markowski and the rest of the Detnews.com staff do a better job at least be accurate on the little information you do provide!!

Game reports Canton and SE
Hello Everybody in forum land!! Excellent weekend of football.
Canton vs Plymouth this game was a real hum dinger in the first half. Long drives by Canton quick scores by Plymouth and a missed field goal before halftime that could have been a momentum changer for Plymouth.
Canton scored first to grab a 7-0 lead then Plymouth ended a long drive with a field goal to make it 7-3. Both teams traded scores in the second quarter and with the clock winding down on the first half and Canton Clinging to a 20-17 lead Plymouth missed a 40 yard field goal that could have tied it at halftime.
In the second half it was all Canton as they scored 20+ points and held Plymouth scoreless the rest of the way to win easily.
Southeastern defeated Glenn easily. Glenn never really mounted a drive the hold game and Southeastern defense was outstanding against Glenn's wildcat offense. The score was 41-0. There is no question that Southeastern has one of the best defenses in the state the question is when faced with a tough defense will Southeastern's offense be up to the task??
Some thoughts about there next opponents Southeastern Plays Cass Tech I saw them play against Tech last year. PSL posters who do you think will win and why?? I am picking Southeastern to advance!!
Canton plays Ann Arbor Pioneer I have seen both teams play I think Canton has a better defense than Pioneer. And unlike prior years I think Canton has a passing attack decent if they get behind. A left handed quarter back. Since this game will be played at Canton I am picking Canton to win next week.
A special shout to Ferndale High school soccer team that won their district and then took the Dexter Dreadnoughts to overtime in a Regional game before losing 2-1.

PT Detnews.com problems
I don't know whats going on with the Detnews.com website but I put up two posts this afternoon one on the chls playoffs and one on the Playoffs this weekend. There is a problem with this website I have seen other posters were it looks like there are duplicate posts and I am sure they did not do it on purpose. If the paper wants to hire me to fix this I am an un-employed IT computer worker with cisco knowledge etc. and I would love to have a real job again. Detnews what is your response?

The Canton Ann Arbor could be an interesting game because of the different coaching x and o's. Canton likes to run Ann Arbor more balanced offense.
CC's defense wins championships.
Region #3 darkhorse here Pontiac they have already over achieved can they upset Dakota??
Region #4 my friend high school football fan Warren michigan says that Southeast will defeat Glenn because they have played tougher competition. I think Glenn can overwhelm SE defense with their wildcat offense. I have seen SE play several times they pursuing defense goes side to side but this offense offers 2-3 options every play and Jeremy Langford for Glenn already has 2000 yards and 20+ td's.
What ever team gets out of the first district will have to figure out a way to stop the best quarterback in the state of Michigan Jason Fracassa.

PT Game report CC vs OLSM Prep bowl
Hello Everybody in forum land!! I was lucky enough to watch one of the best games of the year 5 levels up in the comfort of a Ford Field suite.
This game both teams played great defense but also of key importance was the play of both CC and OLSM special teams.
How about 13 punts by both teams a missed field goal by CC and a game saving tackle at the CC 20 yard line by CC's punter to prevent a touchdown by OLSM late in the 4th quarter on the kickoff after CC had scored the go ahead touchdown!
The first quarter CC kicked off to OLSM and then the defenses for both sides settled in. There were (5) changes of possession followed by punts. Score after 1st quarter CC 0 OLSM 0.
The 2nd quarter there was a little more success for both offenses CC drove deep into OLSM but then OLSM stopped CC forcing them to attempt a 27 yard field goal that they missed. OLSM then had there most sustained drive of the game driving into CC side of the field. OLSM drive also stalled at the 38 yard line. Score at halftime CC 0 OLSM 0.
In the third quarter again the defenses played great (2) punts and after three quarters CC 0 OLSM 0.
In the 4th quarter CC after a punt drove deep into OLSM territory after a sure touchdown pass was dropped by CC they kept there composure and continued there march down the field. The big play being a 35 pass to the 14 yard line. Then #20 Anthony Capatina capped the drive 39 yard drive as he scored the touchdown to give CC the lead CC 7 OLSM 0 with about 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Then OLSM took the ensuing kickoff return 69 yards. CC's Punter saved the day by making the tackle. Then CC's defense intercpeted a Robert Bolden's 4th down pass play and ran it back to the 33 yard line. CC fumbled but managed to retain possession. CC offense stalled they punted one last time to OLSM and held them on downs.
Final score CC 7 OLSM 0.
To bad any of these teams had to lose they both played well. I see were OLSM made the playoff's with a 4-4 record they deserve to be in the playoffs.
In the first game Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 31 Pontiac Notre Dame 26. Richard came back from a 20-17 deficit to win the game.
Everyone have a great day.
