The Scene, ahem......
TW - Please see my comments on the field a few posts down, Athens stadium MUCH better suited than Dakota's. 'Nuff said on that. My hit of the game? The absolute WOOD that the SHS aftie laid on the Clarkston receiver in the fourth. I do honestly regret that the Wolve's guy got hurt..I do.. but that was the best hit on a receiver I have seen ion quite a few years at the high school level, he didn't even see it coming..your thoughts?
Clarkston vs. Steveson
YAE/ShockedinClarkston - Robbed? What about the phantome pass interference call on SHS that gave the touchdown to the Wolves. If that blunder by the officials was not made, the last few minutes and all of these posts would never have been. Lastly, can you tell me why (and I mean this) when there is a facemask call and SHS gets the ball 1/2 the distance, why was it not first down? My point? Soooo many fuc*ed up calls by the refs on both sides. I personally would love to see the game replayed, as I'm sure players on both sides would. Then..the clock people/man... should be banned by the MHSAA forever and issue an apology to fans on both sides.
Clarkston vs. Stevenson
MikeyRaz - Bogus facemask call? Why then, did the SHS receiver make that motion on his own facemask seconds before the call was made by the official? He knew it and so did the ref, and the Clarkston coach. Second - We would not even be talking about this if there wasn't the most phantome pass-interference call I have ever seen made against SHS to keep Clarkston in the game. That said, bonehead move by Clarkston Off Coordinator to keep ruinning instead of a knee. Sure was a bad fumble call, but the officiating team was terrible all night (on that facemask, why not automatic first down?) on both sides, and the clock crew was F-ing retarded, flat out.
Tom Winslow - No offense, but the field at Atherns was better suited. I saw IKE/Dakota at Dakota. The visiting stands at Dakota are FAR smaller than those at Athens, talk about a safety hazard. Second, the scoreboard at Dakota is horribly placed. If you are on visiting side, no chance to see it becasue the student section is constantly standing. The scoreboard at Athens is first class all the way, far sup[erior to Dakota's (same one at Troy High)and far more visible for all fans. Fianlly - parking. Sure, Dakota has a few lots, but Troy, has many lots directly at the school and several business less than 1/4 mile away that are closed after 5 or so and perfect for parking at the game. I did not see a single Troy cop patrolling lots/businesses and ticketing or towing. Concessions and bathrooms? Far superior at Athens.
Final note - Did see L. Brooks Patterson at the game, he actually stayed the whole game, despite their being no bar at the concessions building. Go Brooksie!!
PS - quit your whining Clarkston fans. If Clarkston was truly superior than the game would have been decided by the third quarter. There may be reason that Clarkston has never gotten the title game?
The Scene, ahem.....
Tom - BM, will also be at the SHS/Clarkston game Saturday, live all of 1.5 miles away, too good and easy to miss. I do owe you a hot dog or two from the Dakota/IKE outcome. Will try to find you at the game. I will be wearing a beige 3/4 length coat that looks like a Carhart (although is a Eddie Buaer) and a navy blue stocking cap, and jeans. Also will be wearing a scarf. A bit of advice - don't actually park at Athens, hard getting out of there. There is a restaurqant called the "Gathering Place" on the SW side of John R and 17 mile, less than 200 yards from the stadium entrance. Trust me, park there. Plus, great pizza and low beer prices on Saturday nights.

TW - was serious about my offer, yet not sure of how to reach you, is there an option on the forum with which you can contact a poster alone? If so, please let me know.. Thanks - Eastsider '91.
Directions to Dakota, message to TW
Haven't been there yet folks, will be coming from Troy along M-59 (Hall Rd), any reccomendations? Parking options? I have heard that this field is like a small college facility? Has to be better than Pontiac last week. Wisner field stands were huge, sure, and impressive since it opened in 1941, but only one concession window (with a cop almost next to it) and some pathetic porta-johns for the visitors? Man! Then, a cop every 20 feet or so, focused solely on the home side, truly a site. Four layers of barbed-wire around the facility made me wonder as well. Tops? The dance team, about 8 or so girls. Now, I am guess I am just used to Macomb girl dance teams, athletic and trim and moving fast. What I saw from the Pontiac girls was something out of the movie "Wildcats" from 1985 (Goldie Hawn) with the girls looking like they could play linebacker for the home team, and their movements slower than a Detroit City Council vote. A true experience. U-G-L-Y - you aint got no alibi - you're ugly!!! Bless the girls though, gave it their all. Marching band did rock though!
On another note - I will buy Big Mike (Tom Winslow on the Det News Forum) his game ticket, two hot dogs and a coke at the Dakota vs the Romeo/Clarkston winner next week if Dakota beats IKE this week. TW - you up for it? I am so sure that IKE will beat Dakota that I am making this offer, and I am cuurently unemployed. Question is, will you make the same offer? - Eastsider '91
SE PRIDE!!!!
C'mon, SE has gotten to the playoffs this year, last year, and then 2005, playing almost solely PSL (joke) teams. Before 2005, whane did SE make the playoffs? NEVER. IKE, on the other hand, has 10 years straight in the playoffs playing in one the the top 3 divisions/conferences in the state. This year, they beat the '07 and '07 Div 1 state champs, and lost to the top ranked team in the state by 3 points. Check out below, SE's glorious past in HS Football.

The Scene, ahem......
TW - Didn't "graduate" to DLS, was supposed to go to ND but the family moved. Went to IKE, got a great college prep education and football program, much better football program than at DLS.
SE PRIDE!!!!
Congrats!! You still have not played the likes of a MAC Red squad like IKE, who's defense would swarm and hold your guys to very little gains. Actually, the top 4 teams in the MAC Red would do the same thing. PSL teams = no discipline, at least not in top performer terms. Keep going a few years and then brag, but this year, SE is in over their heads in DIV 1.
The Scene, ahem.......
BM, TW...Whatever. Unless I am wrong here, IKR blew out Dakota a few weeks back? OK, now, I know Coach G will correct a few mistakes made then, certainly, but such rush to the far-east judgement? Shame shame shame. What was the IKE score vs. SHS? 28-25 I believe? Be careful what you post. Might DHS beat IKE? Sure. But you are sooooo gung ho on the Cougars..and seem to be peeved that they lost to both SHS AND IKE in the same season. OH LORDY !! You have given no thought to the idea that IKE might just be peaking right now. SO..... east of Shoenherr thinking. You clearly spent your days ont he East side, and don't get me wrong, my bros were stars at Bish Gall and the likes, and I am a St. Anne then IKE guy, but your East side of Schoenherr glasses have gotten waaaay to foggy. That said, good luck to both teams.
The Scene, ahem.....
BM - Watch yourslef here on the IKE/Dakota Game. Was at IKE/Pontiac today, only fun thing was to see the Pontiac Band and Dancers, reminded me of the movie "Wildcats." IKE should have won 42-6. So next week Dakota, at Dakota. BM - yes I understand Dakota's grief in week 8. And yes, Coach G was at this game in the IKE stands(pointless because Pontiac threw nothing at IKE that DHS could use.) IKE simply knows Dakota's game, and vice versa. It will come down to the final quarter, unless there is something that you see that I am not seeing. IKE is peaking, where is their weakness this late in the season, with all healthy?
A Little Fun
DryPhoenix - Hard for me to give any credit to SE as well, I mean really, just look at their schedule, all but one win invloved a PSL opponent, and BBR is not any kind of power this year. Congrats though to the whole team for remaining in school and academically eligible to play this far into the school year.
A Little Fun
DryPhoenix - Totally agree with Div 1 final teams, didn't see many alternatives (except perhaps SHS having a little trouble with Clarkston, and perhaps CC with Rockford.) But I see those teams in the end, with SHS coming out on top. As an long time IKE guy, I have despised SHS AND CC for many years :), but after watching SHS against IKE, with IKE utilizing every trick and sure play int he book, and SHS coming out on top, I don't see any team beating SHS this year. Mach will give SHS everything they can handle, but this is SHS's year.
PT Philly..YAE
Guys - totally respect your views over the long haul, except of course the the dig (YAE) about Romeo's field..seriously though, it totally sucks, dangerous to players on both sides, disgrace to HS football. But anyway, Pontiac vs. IKE? C'mon, the bros will be fast sure, but not disciplined, well conditioned, or even coached like IKE. IKE 26, Pontiac 6 (no kicking game) only because it will be wet, otherwise IKE by 4 touchdowns. The real game is IKE vs Dakota in round 2. Toss up in that game, no prediction here..only that it will come down to a a last second field goal. Thoughts?
Markowski
Phoenix- Even in a playoff game, Bye would not run up a score. SHS 42, Roseville 6. Third string in after 2'nd quarter. Congrats to Roseville for making the playoffs and getting to play one of the top teams in the state, that chance does not come often in Roseville. And hears to no injuries on either side!
