The Scene, ahem........

SE MIGHT run the ball 10 times in the WHOLE game.

Lets get this correct SE likes to put the ball in the best offensive player hands the QB, so yea they throw and only runs 3 and 4 wr sets

Isnt Wright out of the game Saturday ?

That will leave Stevenson one dimensional

Stevenson hasnt seen a team bigger then Dakota,

Stevenson hasnt seen a team faster then Stevenson,

Stevenson hasnt seen a Qb that can actually RUN (twice has fast as Morris)

Stevenson never seen linebacker like GHOULSTON.

There is no doubt Ghoulston is better then every SHS linebacker combined.

Edaward Thomas might not be able to throw like Fracassa but he is a play maker and probably faster then every player on SHS team.

Now that I hear Wright is out I pick

DLS has to play SField next week which is a rematch of last year's semi. Rice and DLS would not meet until the finals. Clarkston and Stevenson in the semi. You may have to travel longer than 50 miles for a Rockford and CC semi.

Hi posters, what a game at Dakota last night....Ike recovers a fumble the first time the Cugas had the ball and go in for a quick strike...Ike higher than a kite at that point....7-0....Then Dakota ties it up on a Mark Morris bomb into the end zone...a FG makes it 10-7 Ike at the half....then a strange thing happened...Ike's defense tumbled like a dynamited wall allowing 21 second half pts to the Cugas and a lopsided win for them.....the strengh of Ike's team this year has been their defense but their pass defense fell apart with 3 second half passing TDs....hard to figure....Ike fans were silent as a church mouse in the second half....Stevenson struggles a bit at the start but then ends up whacking Warrren Mott....no doubt as they move forward the loss of running back Justice Wright will hurt the Titans.....do they have still enough in the tank to win it all???? good question....Clarkston beats up on Romeo....expected but not expected I guess....word was Clark Kent had Big Ben covered like a blanket......Clarkie a little too tough this year for the Dawgs....next week Dakota goes up to Clarkie and that will be a big battle in the trenches.....more than likely Clark Kent will be favored but dont count out the Cugas....never count out the Cugas....G will have a solid plan. More to follow on that game....DLS wins again against a so-so GP North team....they might lock horns with Rice or Harrison next I think.....still dont know all the pairings....except SE at Stevenson....I will take Stevenson all the way in that game....SE has never seen a team with so many offensive weapons thrown at them....and the Titans can play defense very well too....what kind of QB and kicking game does SE have????? No doubt Fracassa is far better then their QB....

Word is SE runs 10 times in a row sometimes......game is at Stevenson...I like the Titans to win this one, maybe by a sizeable score.....who will CC get next week....I would travel 50 miles to see a CC/Rockford game....

Will there be a Stevenson/Clarkie game if they both win as expected this coming week????? The Titans will get their biggest test of the season if they do....two more wins to get to FF.......Dakota packed in the stands last night on a bitterly cold night....real cold sitting high in those stands there....Wings are showing some life lately....are they a tease or not....Pistons looks like a long season and Lions will lose tommorrow for sure in Seattle....looks like 2-14 or a 3-13 season for them....yuk!!!!

Later, Tom and peace to all.......

First needs to win and then make the playoffs with their points. That projection of their possible district does not have a strong enough top seed. That is how a DLS team gets shifted out to Rochester as in the past. They won't have a 6-3 team as a top seed. DLS is not in a good place right now if you saw them Saturday. This is a team way out of sync on offense and playing pretty well on D.

throwstrikes,

one more thing to note too, there are 3 other teams between WLC and DLS in the enrollment/record standings. Port Huron (1658) has more of a chance at playing in D1 than DLS does, and WLC looks to have a very good chance at playing D1 this year. (I did a search and filter at MHSAA for all teams with no more than 3 losses) Right now, they are the 31st team in and there are 7 (5-3) teams in front of them. I would also like to say that Holland West Ottawa and Liv. Franklin, who are both 4-4, could get in with wins this weekend. They both have more than 55 playoff points too.

TW, the answer to your southeastern question is right away in districts. SE is projected to be in region 4 with SHS,warren mott, and roseville. i recommend going to (snooze2you.com) if any of you guys want to see the projected district matchups. he does a great job.

TW; i have seen GPN once(GPS) and DLS twice(CC & BBR). i'll take DLS by 14 to 17 points. DLS is too big and physical for GPN. both are run oriented, but i give the edge to DLS and defensively it's no contest. no way do they move DLS north into region 2 with BBR adams or stoney. DLS is in macomb and thats where they will stay; region 4. the last projected D1 team is WLC with 1665 enrollment, DLS is at 1650 so it is possible that they could go D1 but will probably stay in D2. i just don't see DLS facing a tough team until the semi's, probably adams, rice, lowell, portage northern, muskegon, or midland. there are no unbeaten teams in the projected D2, i think it's wide open, lowell was the favorite until they lost to east grand rapids which is D3. the most interesting point in all this is that DLS may not have the points to make it in at 5-4 due to their weak non league schedule.

Hi posters, watching the baseball game with the Yanks and Angels...looking at those giant boulders out in the outfield in LA....how in the world did they find and bring in those monsters??? They must have used giant cranes or something... I think you could film a western movie out there in the OF.....DLS: Throwstrikes, DLS will be at the mercy of the MHSAA dice as far as a playoff run goes....what makes you so sure they will easily beat Gpn???

Port Huron a MAC Blue team, no problem....however, if they go up in the Rochest Adams dist with Harrison, Adams and Rice they will be beaten with a Buford Pusser boulder against the head.....Then if they get put in Div 1, they will be way over their heads.....Stevenson and Dakota could conceivably beat them by 30-40 pts or so......then what happens if they are in Div 2 and meet up with E. Grand Rapids???? That will be worse than Muskey last year.....as it is now Stevenson with that New England Patriots team they have wont have an easy time either....everyone they face in the playoffs will be higher than a kite to beat them....Dakota will be well prepped if they meet again....

Ike will be salivating at revenge to play Stevenson again....lots of good possibilities.....CC vs. Clarkston would be velly interesteeeeng.....there will be no easy roads for sure, especially in Div 1....Rice vs. Adams would be a war too......hang onto your Stroh's Ernie.....when would a MAC or Catholic league team play Detroit SE???? That would be one to see too......cant make up my mind department - what would you guys rather have, a 66 GTO Tri Power 4 speed or a new Camaro SS with all the goodies.....dream, dream, dream!!!!!!!!

Later, Tom and peace to all.......

I understand the easy schedule criticism, but they have a hard time filling their schedule with local teams. As I have stated, no one program will do them any favors.

The Scene, ahem........

Hi posters, Lions get pistol whipped in GB again....did I say again??? Like death and taxes and gangsters on Wall St. Lions lose in GB.....hate to say it but what is the difference on this team from the one's that Morningweg, Mooch, Marinelli had???? The Lions are softer than a wet sponge at most positions....their new QB standing on the sidelines thinking about his 40 million bucks...hell, Johnny Unitas would have played today with two casts on his legs and one one his shoulder....so far Schwartz hasnt impressed me on bit.....GB must wish they could play the Lions about ten times a season....Lions defense weaker than ten day old water again....ugh!!!

Some good comments about DLS today....this is definitely a down year for them....no Torzy's, No Martinez boys and no Fowlers to bail them out....if they make the playoffs they wont last past the first game most likely.....why is anyone picking on Verska??? He has been pretty successful there so far....and DLS rules says parents were getting on Verskies a.....at the game yesterday........next year DLS must, and I say must quit scheduling creampuffs to fill out their schedule...I said earlier that would hurt them and who can deny it????? With the team Stevenson has this year if they dont win the state championship they will never win it....they are loaded for bear at nearly every position....an all state QB, top notch receivers, 2-3 top running backs and some good beef on the OL and DL.....if you get behind against them early it is like digging a hole in the ground with a spoon trying to play catch up....Romeo looked like a deer in the headlights on friday.......what will Dakota do??? G must be sitting down with his staff figuring out the trigonometry needed to stop the Titans....Can he do it???? In my mind the only team I have seen that could possibly beat them.....CC vs. Stevenson...CC had better not get behind early or it will be lights out for them.....then they had better cover Peyton's receivers like a bed sheet or else......If I am wrong and we get to that game tear my a....up if you want to......Later, Tom and peace to all........

Speaking of Chippewa Valley - Congrats on your victory over IKE this year, you pulled it out. Can't wait until next year.

Sat. 10/17/09 10:22 AM

The Scene, ahem........

Couldn't be at the game, was IKE just too fast for " The Steers?" BM - guess your theory on the size just being too much just doesn't hold up now? IKE ran in 2 touchdowns, how can this be with such undersized players? IKE will destroy Anchor Bay next week to go 6-3 on the season and skate into the playoffs. Games this season IKE wished they had back? CV and Romeo. I firmly believe that if IKE draws Romeo in the playoffs and it is in dry conditions, then IKE takes it. MHSAA should demand that plaoyoff games NOT be played at Romeo's home field, it is a disgrace and danger to players.

Sat. 10/17/09 09:54 AM

The Scene, ahem........

Hi posters, weathered the cold weather blizzard at Romeo last night and as bundled up as I was I was stll colddddd!!!

This seems like late November or Feruary weather instead of mid October....if you didnt have gloves on last night your hands were frozen.....anyhew: Stevenson rides into hostile Romeo and bullwhips the Bulldogs....42-7....no one I know of expected this to happen....Fracassa went hog wild again completing 23-35 passes and sailing 3 TD passes and running in for another himself....Romeo on that dumpy, lumpy, worm out field of theirs looked like they had stage fright....The Titans were all over Big Brown...he couldnt run 6 inches without 4 Stevenson tacklers all over him....Bye was not going to let him do a lot of damage....

Stevenson is pushing for a 9-0 record (likely to get it next week***) and home field advantage for the first two state playoff games...stunner of the night - Ike beats up Dakota...a real shocker....the entire macomb daily had picked Dakota to win that game....Ike as I have mentioned several times before is a desperate team, small, but very skilled in most positions. they dont seem to have any stars but work hard, hard and are coached to perfection......G will have to look at the tapes and figure out what kind of plan he will use in the playoffs...certainly Dakota will be favored in some games, but their two league losses leaves some MAC RED supporters scratching their heads....they and Romeo now seem like mystery meats in the MAC playoffs.....Whatabout Warren Mott? they have been tearing up the pea patch in the MAC White and have a head on collision next friday at Stevenson.....are they for real or crepe paper?????? An upset win for them there will shock the world.....my take is Stevenson by heampum plentee points.....Lakeshore is making believers out of a lot of people too at 7-1.....In class C they should make a lot of waves.....another team to look hard at is Madison hts. Madison at 8-0...that team is loaded for bear I am told.....Chip barely clips hapless Utica Ford II 28-25.....two very average to weak teams this year....although Chip beat Ike earlier....game time temp in New York last night for game with Angels was 28 degrees with a wind......think I would stay in the house and watch that game on TV.....Markowski thinks Stevenson (St. Hts) and Rockford best teams inDiv 1.....my picks for Ford Field too......there could be beartraps along the way though....

Later, Tom and peace to all.......

Tom,

I have seen Brown 4 times in his high school career. He is clearly the best in Macomb County. Hughes was only a sophomore when I saw him play last year. I thought Morris the QB was a better runner, so was Corley (sp) at the time. I have seen Wright once. He does bust big plays, but is is very easy to run when most teams defend Stevenson from a nickle or dime package. At this time, I would rank Watkins # 2 in the county. Have fun @ Gilbert's this Friday night, it is Karaoke Night, so I hope you enjoy getting on the Mike!
