The Scene, ahem.......
Just wondering why do you call him "Guru"? Is he the leader of some sort of cult? Or is it because Travis Conlin won a state championship years and years ago and he happened to be the one wearing the tie on the winning teams bench?
The Scene, ahem.......
DLSrules, there are many times I disagree with your posts, but on the Alex Marcotullio issue I couldn't agree more. I have consistently said Esler did not use him effectively. As he matures, I think he will turn out to be a very good college baseketball player.
The Scene, ahem.......
Tom,
Keith M. is a graduate assistant at Hillsdale where he finished up is degree. Also where are all the DLS slappy's at for the game against Inkster, Vikings may put up 40 on the slappy's after DLS played some weak playoff teams until now how do they get so lucky every year. CC will knock off Holt in a close defensive game. Now for the rumble in the burbs at Athens tomorrow night. If CHS can play ball control and keep the SHS QB off the field they have a good chance at pulling off the upset. If the SHS QB gets time it could be over quick this may be the game of the decade. Heard there may be more people at Athens than Ford Field on Sunday. Did anyone catch Alex M. for Northwestern last knight played well and had a lot of movement. Told everyone that the GURU did not know how to use him effectively. Anyways I have extra tickets for DVI, FF, and DP to join me at Athens for free since they are in hiding.

Hi posters- some bits and pieces of eight....I dont know about you guys but I am sick to death of seeing Kwayme on television telling judges and prosecutors he cant remember if he or his wife paid the electric bill last month...and his wife handles all the money and he does not know how much they owe or dont have....yikes!!!! Finally Detroit is getting rid of riff raff at city hall and the council offices it appears....Dave Bing and Warren Evens - top tag team for Datryooote as Coleman would say...how about Robert Bobb too, he has cleaned up a septic tank in the schools and making people accountable for their actions including athletes..in short flunk a bunch of subjects and you will not play sports....enuf politics for today and Grosse Pointer thanks for your support but I shouldnt get so carried away sometimes....Throw strikes, are you a baseball ump or a FB official???? Just curious.....I am secretly hoping for a DLS/Rice Krispies game at FF and a Stevenson/CC game there too....Stevenson vs. CC...MAC RED vs. the catholic league - finally....like King Kong vs. Godzilla...wasnt there a movie called "King Kong vs. Godzilla" many years ago???? Also will enjoy seeing two of the best high school QBs in years tommorrow at Athens...sort of like Fracassa vs. Scarlett....who is going to put up the better stats??? Have been hearing Ike's BB team is the team to beat in macomb county this year...Brandon (Mr. Jump up and down) Lemley has a top cast led by Oakland bound Corey Petrus at 6-8 or so....Dont forget Rosie will be tough too......you have got to love Lemley when he jumps up and down and his tie is flying all over the place and his shirt comes out of his pants and is hanging down...good stuff.....word is Fraser High will win a FB game before the next 8 years or so...what is going on there??? 5 seasons in a row or so of 1-8 and 0-9.....at least they have a top notch VB team year after year...wonder what former BA coach Mario is doing now.....
Heard he is BA coach at a Lutheran school....Did Angelo Gust get the BA manager's job at Anchor Bay???? AB, Fraser, who is more hapless in FB????
PT Phily, keep up the good posting...I like your enthusiasm.....wonder whatever happened to Keith McKenzie former standout BB player at DLS...he went to Oakland and barely got on the floor, quit and left I hear.....Mike Bramos signed a fat contract to play BB in Europe...very fat I heard.......I have been scouring the internet trying to find an "Ampipe Bulldogs" varsity letter jacket like the one Tom Cruise wore in "All the Right Moves"....cant find one.....Craig T. Nelson was great as the hard a...coach in that movie.......see you guys tommorrow and remember "52 Stack Monster"....all game goal line defense!!! ha-ha...
Later, Tom and peace to all......
The Scene, ahem.......
Dryphoenix, I haven't been on this forum as long as some, but the one thing I have learned along the way is not to pay any attention to TW/Big Mike's meandering soliloquies of nonsensical dribble. It's a shame that for some time now one poster has tried, albeit feebly, to control this forum. If everyone would just ignore his posts this forum would be better off.
The Scene, ahem.......
Tom, lets get a few things straight.
First, Justice Wright is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Second, the Titans running game was non-existent because SE's defense was one of the best in the state. Maybe you didn't notice all the linebackers blitzing and crushing the line. After the halftime adjustments, Fracassa was able to get some time to set and throw in addition he was running one step drops and hitting his receivers short. This also made the SE defense back off and allowed Fracassa to run draws up the gut later in the game. Keeping the defense honest is what happened, and Clarkston is going to have to do something similar on D in order to win.
Third, are you really the one who should be calling out Fife after the halftime debacle? Maybe Dakota should take some responsibility for not being better prepared. Either way, its not your place!
Fourth, since when do you travel south of 696, in addition to seeing DLS play Inkster?
Fifth, Southfield matched up well with DLS. I don't know about a "creampuff" because Southfield made some key mistakes on offense and gave up only a couple big plays on defense. In fact, one surprising stat was SF didn't have a first down in the first half. Another, the big back only ran the ball about 3 times and fumbled on the third. Makes me wonder if there was a injury or bug looming that could have slowed him down.
Lastly, if youre gonna report something, atleast try to make it accurate. I dont understand how you can dish out all these shenanagans and carry on the way you do. I have gone all season with a vow this year about not disgracing the kids, other posters, or coaches and you seem to do it on a regular basis. These teams have kids on them that pour their heart out and deserve better than some "old bitter man" spitting out defamatory remarks and giving negative connotations about them and the team.
That completes my rant. Maybe one day you'll come to (since I know ALL your friends feel the same way) and grow up. In fact, you should be honored to have friends like them who give you that advice.
The Scene, ahem.......
Hi posters, next sat promises to be one hell of a FB day....the plans have been set...we will go to the DLS/Inkblot game at 1 p.m. and sat at 7 p.m. Clark Kent vs. Stevie Nicks.....I have no predictions since these two games should be dog eat dog hi strung affairs....Stevenson is hinging on the possibility of Justice Wright being back in the lineup from what I hear...w/o him their running game is very average....two very highly talented QBs in Scarlett O'Hara and Peyton Fracassa.....according to Markowski Fracassa went over the top last friday against SE: Consider - he threw 4 TD passes good for 488 yards and accounted for all of Stevenson's 5 TDs...whew!!! I dont think Tom Brady and Peyton Manning could do that together in one game!!!! Fans, get out to see Mr. Fracassa next sat....you are seeing something special and dont forget the kid is a top notch SS on the baseball team...a Derek Jeter type who is a line drive hitter....word is he is getting a BA scholly.....Bye may never have another like him again....
Was just thinking what if we get another Rice Crispies vs. DLS game in the final???? All the catholic league fans would be salivating over that one.....Rice by 7-10 pts to me....Wings: this team seems to have come back from the dead....great job by Babcock mixing in the new guys who have much less talent than the ones the Wings lost over the summer....Jimmie Howard even looks like a so so NHL goalie....team is playing disciplined hockey and top notch defense except for that fiasco in Toronto last week....
Babcock and Kenny Holland top two coaches and GMs maybe in all of pro sports.....Lions: get ready for another wipeout today at the Minny metrodome....Lions cannot compete at all in the NFL with the team they have and so all they can hope to do is keep the score down.....wonder how long Schwartz will last here??? The news media is already all over him and Stafford....all you can hope is that they are not another MM and Joey Harrington.....Tom Brady and Drew Henson at U of M at the same time....everyone from here to mars figured Henson was a star and Brady a sidelight....whoda thunk???? How does Brady meet all of those gorgeous women??? I wonder if he is on E Harmony????
Vikes 42, Lions 10 today.....Later, Tom and peace to all.....
The Scene, ahem.......
Hi posters, all the pretenders to the contenders are gone and out...only the strong survive as of now....best part of all this is teams will crossover now and play teams out of their conference...interesting to see what a 10-0 in one league is compared to a 6-3 in a tougher league......ala Grand Blanc and Romeo, who won.....looks like DLS and CC have had the much easier road to the semis....DLS beating so-so teams like GP North/South and CC running through the Plymouth neighborhood teams over and over....hard to say what will happen.....SE at Stevenson: keep my prediciton of a Titan victory....SE plays a bunch of creampuffs mostly in the Detroit PSL and this undoubtedly will be the best team they have seen all year....year after year the Titans are involved in tug o wars with MAC RED teams during and after the season starts....Fracassa's passing attack at all the right critical times will give SE fits and zits....plus the Titans have some solid beef on the OL and DL, plus playing at home on a field that has seen many monster battles over the years with a huge, pro Stevenson crowd......
Bye must prep his team for the run against SE..they will run the ball ten times in a row I have heard....Ghoulston alone is not going to be enough for SE....lots of players on their team will have to play the game of their lives to win....Stevenson in a close game.
Dakota at Clarkie: will be the best team Clark Kent has seen all year and the MAC RED for a long time cleaned up on OAA "powers".....G will have a solid plan in place and Morris is passing almost as well as Fracassa is this year....throwing lots of TD bombs....Marcus Hughes will be the key for Dakota...he must run wild because Clarkie stopped Ben Brown cold last week.......Dakota has quick strike capability and a mean as a bull LB in Jeff Spicuzzi who leads in tackles on the team....this one might be very close.....Dakota by 3 in my book.....DLS and SF...when is DLS going to get any competition??? They are playing another so-so team and likely will win big.....are they ready again for Rice....you make the call....Lowell and Midland are the top teams in Div 2....CC will have another cakewalk against Canton I surmise....Rockford will win....a CC/Rock game would be a blast!!! Who was it that wants to meet me and buy me a couple dogs??? Love to - e mail: tomthefan@#yahoo.com and please no posters sending me idiotic messages please...show class.......get to Stevenson early friday....stands will be packed by 6:30 or so....
Later, Tom and peace to all........
The Scene, ahem.......
Hi posters, one more day or so the next round of FB playoffs, and some nastee predictions.....AE - your assessments of North is pretty good....Big Frank needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with some new plays...and handing the ball over to Watkins 45 times to run probably wont do much.....North must come out confident, not be intimidated, and score first if at all possible....not sure if North is as big/smaller overall than DLS....maybe Verskie thinks he has another Peyton Fracassa on his hands as a freshmen????? Highly doubtful....too close to call.....
Mott at Stevenson - are you kidding??? this besides the point that the Titans may have lost power running back Justice Wright for the season with a knee injury...no small loss....Ike at Dakota - very close game to call...Ike's strangling defense vs. Marcus Hughes and can Mark Morris make enough bomb completions to put the Cugas over the top???? Dakota's steers on the OL and DL could make a big difference and trying to beat G twice in one season is about as hard as finding an honest banker in Washington these days....pick: Dakota by 3-7 pts....Romeo at Clarkston....how is the top team in the OAA compared to one of the top horses in the MAC RED??? Much for the Dawgs depends on Big Ben Brown and if he can run wild....will he get his 100 yds and 2-3 TD's????? Is the OAA as good as the MAC RED...too close to call of a game.....CC vs. Livonia whatever...a wipeout for CC...they havent played anybody at all yet in these playoffs.....Rockford vs. whoever, will win in a late rally as usual...almost a lock to get to FF this year....and Big Frank - get new some new plays to run at DLS...what worked in 1997 wont work today probably....change with the times!!!!! By the way..why isnt there stands on the opposite side of the field at North???? lots of people likely will stand the whole game.....game could have been played at Chip Valley with those 5000 seats.....Later, Tom and peace to all...and AE how is the big boy DVI doing???? Wonder if he could eat a whole pack of Kowalski brats at one time??????
The Scene, ahem.......
I don't understand how DLS dodged D1 play. Or do people on this forum not understand how the divisions are determined?
The Scene, ahem.......
BM, TW...Whatever. Unless I am wrong here, IKR blew out Dakota a few weeks back? OK, now, I know Coach G will correct a few mistakes made then, certainly, but such rush to the far-east judgement? Shame shame shame. What was the IKE score vs. SHS? 28-25 I believe? Be careful what you post. Might DHS beat IKE? Sure. But you are sooooo gung ho on the Cougars..and seem to be peeved that they lost to both SHS AND IKE in the same season. OH LORDY !! You have given no thought to the idea that IKE might just be peaking right now. SO..... east of Shoenherr thinking. You clearly spent your days ont he East side, and don't get me wrong, my bros were stars at Bish Gall and the likes, and I am a St. Anne then IKE guy, but your East side of Schoenherr glasses have gotten waaaay to foggy. That said, good luck to both teams.
The Scene, ahem.......
Hi posters, little Tom reporting back in....two biggest game of the year on the east side, Ike/Dakota and GP North vs. DLS......synopsis: Ike will be at Dakota - edge to Dakota with those screaming, die hards there.....dont know if G has ever lost two games in one season to the same team - edge Dakota....Dakota will be well prepared from the tapes and G's staff - even on that on both sides.....You kind of get the impression G and his staff dont like the Ike bunch much.....G wants back to Ford Field in the worst way.....pick Dakota by 3-7 pts...much depends on what Mark Morris as QB does and how many scampers Hughes makes.....DLS at GP NOrth.....question is how many tail lickings can Big Frank take over there from DLS....probably no team dislikes DLS than GP North for some reason...even in BB with the guru ranting and howling....Watkins key to this game...can he run wild or not.....DLS will be certainly keying on him.....North must play hard and aggressive and not be intimidated as they have so much in the past.....hard to pick - edge to DLS overall.....DLS again gets lucky ducking the Rochester Adams district where they would get zonked in a hurry and dodging playing Div 1 again......Mott at Stevenson: 35-0 for Stevenson in my book...game at Stevenson, more of a disadvantage to Mott...plus that tail licking over there they took a couple of weeks ago...Romeo vs. Clarkston....can the dawgs pull out another surprise....OAA vs. MAC RED.....look for upset if Big Ben chimes his clock a few times for Romeo.....
Red Wings: out of the mess of a season they have had so far...Justin Abdulkader looks like a player....Osgood still shaky as a leaf on a tree on a windy day.....Jimmy Howard - forget it.....Yanks win tonight and the series will be over....Ryan Howard cannot hit a beachball in this series....Yanks strategy to not let him beat them.....
X factor for Yanks - Milky Cabrera and Nick Swisher...two underated hitters......has there ever been more of a steadier player for the Yankees than Jorge Posada?????
Mark Texiera is trying too hard to hit every ball 500 feet....no Mark we are not playing at the Polo Grounds with that 500 ft. center field fence.....will be at Dakota friday with the gang....get there early.......Later, Tom and peace to all......
The Scene, ahem.......
DLS is most definitely having an off year. Losing the Martinez brothers, Sinagoga, Pierse and others have been too hard to overcome. In their losses this year the secondary has been their Achilles heal. That is where not having the Martinez brothers and Pierse has really been felt. Yesterday's game was there for the taking, but when you have 7 turnovers you are not going to win many games. Also, a correction from an earlier post, DLS did not smoke Bishop Watterson last year. In fact they had to come from behind in the second half to win.
The Scene, ahem.......
Hi posters, still thawing out after last night at Romeo with that wind whipping in off of M53....then the zipper on my stadium coat broke and I nearly had to hack saw my jacket off!!! Michigan 65, Delaware State 6 or whatever, why didnt that idiot Pudge Rodriguez schedule Hamtramck State or University Liggett High School instead?? Absurd and stupid to take a game like this and Pudge running up the score with that stupid smirk on his face....bet he wont be smirking after Penn State and Ohio State.....the U of M AD should not have allowed U of M to play such a ridiculous game.....Romeo's Field: what a dump.....foggy lights, tore up field that looked like they had a tractor pull on it before the game started....small stands, a PA system that sounded like the announcer had a coat over the mike.....one john for 5-6000 people.....parking here, there, anywhere, everywhere and $3.50 to park at a high school game??? Yeah, that is right....MHSAA should ban that shoe box for any future games from now on.....maybe they could rent Lanse Creuse North for home games next year or something......holy mackl Andy Brown, what has happened to DLS????? What would their record be if not beating those three creampuffs at the start of the season.....this is a down, down, down year for them....their QB threw 5 interceptions tonight against a team from Ohio they smoked last year......if they get lucky and get in the playoffs and draw Rochest. Adams I would hate to see the score of that one...whew!!!! Verska will have to go back to the drawing board at the end of this season...(smart board?????)
I have said in the past several weeks to look out for Ike...and then they go out and "shock the world" with a 24-7 zonking of the Cugas.....G is at a crossroads now.....he has to change something quickly.....6-2 at Dakota is not acceptible and the strong possibility of facing hated Stevenson in the playoffs looming.......Warren Mott is basing their whole season on next week's game with Stevenson.....my pick: Stevenson will whup them badly.....
Ike vs. Romeo in the states.....toss up a coin on that one....Stevenson was keying on Big Ben last night and he was running into bulldozers every time he got the ball.....
Red Wings: if you thihk this team is going to the stanley cup finals I will sell you the ambassador bridge.....Osgood is always terrible in shootouts and they dont have enough skilled players overall that I can see.....now on a 5 game road trip??? whew!!!! The umps last night at Yankee Stadium must have been like frozen popsicles after that game....over 3 hours in that 37 degree weather and having to stay on the field the whole time.....
Later, Tom and peace to all.......
The Scene, ahem.......
Hi posters, back in the saddle again...Yanks spank Minny....no surprise there....Minney 0-10 the whole season incl playffs against Yanks....why doesnt Tigers off season trades work out like Yanks did????? Verlander for Mark Texeira...I would make that trade if I could keep Tex for 6-8 years or more.....nice to hear from OldRamFan, and to my memory you might be the first Rockford fan to ever post here....nice to hear from new blood.....on this side of town OldRam Fan everything is centered on how much hate there is between MAC, OAA and the Catholic League....especially Catholic League vs. the MAC..MAC teams have always accused DLS of stealing players from them....make your own decision....I have had a lot of respect for Rockford for years....first saw them beat a heavily favored Stevenson team at the dome 5-6 years ago....and they manhandled the Titans....then Dakota Cugas spanked Rockford three years ago....as far as the state playoffs go I would definitely predict a Stevenson/Dakota vs. Rockford game...it could happen....all three teams loaded for bear.....they have to get there first and that wont be easy says, LO, Clarkston, Ike, Romeo, CC, Canton, and others....I have always thought that the OK RED and the MAC RED were the best conferences in the state....Ralph Munger the Rocky coach is somewhat of a legend on that side of the state....congrats to him......Wings down 4-1 right now and Osgood looks like a reincarnation of Tim Cheveldae right now....he cant stop a beach ball right now.....I have read parts of the "Boys of Summer" about the Brooklyn Dodgers and sad, sad to say when they moved out to LA it tore the heart and soul out of a large section of New York........even sadder is the fact that the old guard, the Brooklyn Dodgers were getting very old and most of them were gone 3-4 years after they moved to LA.....
Congrats to Tim Brandon at GP South....he has established a program at South after it was left in a shambles in the past....wonder if he is still a GP Cop...was Big Frank's asst there for a few years....good guy....Will be at Romeo and Juliette friday night....Later, Tom and peace to all.....
