The Scene, ahem......

Hi posters, back in the saddle again with Smiley Burnette....(check out the westerns channel to find out who that is.....)....and thanks to DVI for correcting me on the 6-2 stack monster instead of a 52 stack monster....but DVI is there such a thing as a 7-2 stack monster??? Also, you said that was a strategy to play a goal line defense the whole game...Does that mean your team never leaves the goal line the whole game??? just asking.....FF, DVI, and Omniscient will you guys quit talikng about the Cousino/DLS game or I will start mentioning the Hamtramck/St. Florian's game of 1966 played at Keyworth stadium in Hamtown....Hamtown 62, Florian's 53.....went to overtime....then my uncle took me over to the Kowalski store on Holbrook and we had a kielbasa dinner after....yum, yum......and Omniscient I wonder why the Cousino coach (Justin ????), would be very happy that DLS won the district game....gotta scratch my bonger on that one..."that's what champions do"....he should have used that strategy with Cousino to win the game....I keep hearing stories out and about that DLS will have a real good BB team this winter....hmmnnn....they lost Mac and Marko and Big Ben....wonder who is going to replace those guys and be as effective.....Rosie O'Grady will be the team in macomb county this winter me thinks......although they could use 2-3 solid bench players that can contribute when the Musketeers need a break.....The Stevenson/Dakota game will be at Stevenson this year I hear....better get there by 3 O'clock to get a seat.....Mich vs. OSU.....and DVI I want to see the Rice/DLS FB game this fall too......just as long as it does not happen on a night of ML baseball playoffs....Red Sox vs. Yankees....I'll still take Red Sox.....Tampa Devil Rays coming on strong lately...watch out for them....Tigers against any of those three teams in playoffs if they make it....Tigs will loooooozzze......

Later, Tom and peace to all..........

Wow

enough already,omni------just pointing out on any given game,if you arent ready you can be beaten---havent we beaten this dead horse enough already???-------i have congratulated the pilots on their achievements, get ready for the next challenge---you have plenty to be proud of concerning your sons-----but if i may ask,why are they going to different universities??-----surprizing to me, anyway----care to comment???----and it isnt just a rumor, correct?

Tue. 06/30/09 03:20 PM

Wow

FF.......unlike you, myself and a lot of people associated with the DLS team this year have a different take on the 2nd Cousino game than you. I look at that game as a great example of intestinal fortitude on the part of those guys in the dugout that day. Cousino played great and the Pilots seemed out of sync. Those players could have given up down by 5 runs with three outs to go in the season but NO...They looked at each other and I know at least a couple of the guys told their team mates, "we're not goin' out like this". I spoke to the Cousino coach, who I know, at the All Star game at Comerica Park. He was very gracious and genuinely happy that DLS had won it all. I talked to him about the game they lost and his words to me were, "that's what champions do". I agree with him and I choose to look at the glass half full instead of the glass half empty(FF's attitude).

Wow

what pitcher are you talking about??-------you may be confused but my son beat berkley in which may have been his best effort of the year!--a complete game win---if you are picking on the other pitcher who lost to royal oar, shame on you!!!----he gave it his all and was used improperly, throwing far too many pitches on the tues before that saturday------a coaching blunder to say the least!!----you need to get your facts straight but that has never stopped you in the past????-------and i bring up the cousino game as a reference, not to bother anyone-if it bothers you, such is life--simply ignore it

Tue. 06/30/09 09:27 AM

Wow

Tom, you can't even get high school sports right in a fictional movie. It was a 6-2 stack monster, and it was a strategy to play a goal line defense the whole game.

Fred, do you keep bringing up the Cousino game, in your feeble attempt to bother or hurt someone? Because it doesn't. You want to bring up a game that hurts, bring up Royal Oak a couple of years ago. That was a pitcher choke job that hurts. The Cousino game was just the opposite. Full of emotion and major stress. Then, just when the end was near, the pilots woke up and scored 6 in the bottom of the 7th and still had bases loaded with no outs. They might have scored 20 that inning, who knows. That may have been the game that gave them the confidence to win the close ones, which they did against GPS, Hartland, and Saline.

The Scene, ahem.....

Hi posters, what is the latest???

DVI you are a tried and true FB man...what is a "52 stack monster" Stephan Digiorgivic alluded to in "All the Right Moves" with Cruise control???? Call up Verska and see if he knows will ya????? Have seen some summer BA and it is pretty poor.....no one can go errorless in a game...that is like asking Monica if she was "council person no. 1".......

There is not a decent catcher to be found anywhere from what I have seen this summer....quick all - who was better all around: Lance Parrish or Bill Freehan...I will take Bill Freehan......talk about great catchers, how about Jorge Posada with the Yankees....handling all those pitchers in the Bronx Zoo for all those years with Steinbrenner breathing down your neck....like having malaria on your neck....Joe Mauer - far and away to me the MVP of major league baseball......Jeter is second on my list....reportedly it was 102 degrees on the field sunday for the Braves/Red Sox game....how would you like to have been the umps standing on that field for 3-1/2 hrs.....next time you rat on the umps think about that.....at least the players get to sit in the dugout, drink water and head into the locker rooms for in between cold showers during a game....then the banana heads in major league baseball critique umps down to the way their shoe strings are tied....then ESPN shows 40 times over and over everytime they think an ump missed a call on Baseball Tonight....not the job for me....I am a wuss.....

Reportedly the e-coli bacteria at metro beach sunday was not bad enough to kill anything human...only wildabeasts....at Blossom Heath Beach in the Shores too....

Granholm will have this problem corrected during fiscal year 2089........Did I hear this right??? Monica the Jonica can run for office again, even the Detroit city council as a convicted felon once her prison sentence is complete....but she cannot vote.....that makes a lot of sense to me....like you can drive a car, but you are not allowed to shift the gears.....I once got a ticket at Chandler Park in high school for MIP (late 60s) and the fine was ten bucks....lot of money for that time....

Roseville the team to beat in macomb county for BB this winter I keep hearing....the three musketeers (Gouch, Williams and Dominique Porter...they gave DLS fits in the districts right to the end.....Pointer is the king of slam dunk and even Esler looked shocked at his prowess.....

just the kind of kid he needs for DLS this year???? I aint saying nuttin about that.....later, Tom and peace to all....

Questions for Tom, full of BM

From what I heard the DLS kids were kind of looking past Cousino and to the Catholic League Championship game the next day. Too many posters on this forum seem to forget that these are kids we are commenting about, and kids don't always keep things in the proper perspective. To the DLS players credit they got focused and came together as a team to accomplish a very special feat; one that will stick with them the rest of their lives.

carl, the difference was that davison was a worthy opponent and ranked----cousino was 18-11 or such but certainly didnt have the firepower a DLS team had-------sure you need a break or 2 and the best team many times doesnt run the table------if it makes you guys happy i wont mention it again------but one thing i will mention for the last time is if the senior transfer doesnt play for the pilots in 09,i doubt they run the table------he was the difference maker, plain and simple and i wish that young man all the best at the next level-------i believe he could be one to watch at WSU

that may be true knock, and tommy isnt always accurate, but he asks the tough questions, and is pretty comical all at the same time-------is plenty more pleasant than a certain poster who drags kids through the mud with his own set of truths-----sure DLS made a great comeback to salvage the win--all im saying is who would have ever thunk the game would have been that close????--might have been one of the great upsets in years and cousino should be respected for such--nothing more, nothing less and really not stirring the pot, just telling it the way it came down

Fred,....So using your rationale, Muskegon was lucky to win the State Championship football ? After all, they had a close 2 point come from behind win over Davison in the semi finals I gon't think anyone would agree that either team (DLS in Baseball or Musky in Football) was not a worthy champion but you. Come on Fred be serious.. You more so than most know you need to be really good, catch a few breaks and win the close ones to seal the deal. DLS and Musky did it and thats why they're champions. The DLS Baseball team was a team of kids who loved each other and dedicated themselves to winning. Every kid on the team contributed in different ways and at different times. IMO what JM did after suffering a horrific break was just straight stud...They deserve unconditonal respect including the 3 time State Champion Coach.

Come on Fred, stop with the Cousino almost beating DLS crap. You're "stirring the pot" as you like to call it, is putting you in the same category as TW, and no one wants to be there..........I don’t' want to take anything away from Cousino, because they played a good game. It's just that DLS was asleep for the first 6 innings. Yes, their backs were up against the wall, but like all good teams they woke up and put the game away.

Questions for Tom, full of BM

If, "the MAC teams dont even play DLS so how could they know anything about any of them except for Markowski's trumpet blowing all spring long and word of mouth....word of mouth does not get my vote for dog catcher."

Then why did they vote for them? Since the MAC plays each other, the voters must have seen the MAC players more often. Why would a MAC coach take a player based on, "Markowski's trumpet blowing," instead of one he has seen at least a couple of times?

Not that your answer matters, since you are viewed as a liar, and hold no forum cred, or any street cred. Case in point, read Omni's response.

The Scene, ahem.......

Hi posters, go Shock!!! What would it take for me to go to a Shock game? A free limo, free buffet meal, courtside seats and unlimited Killians....dont think the Shock will make me that offer...word is Women's BB league is about to fold...sort of sad....Women's Pro golf is cutting "purses"...no pun intended......cutting a couple of tournaments next year due to economic conditions...sign of the times...I told you guys about the car wash near me that was not hiring either...mananger said nobody was bringing their cars in....would rather wash them themselves and save seven to ten bucks....hey that will buy about 3 gallons of milk, what the heck....Omniescient you mentioned MAC teams DLS played at the Kyte Monroe tournament in very early April when it was raining cats and dogs and the daytime temps were about 35-45 and at night unlordly at about 32-38 for games after 6 p.m.....yeah DLS mopped up on MAC and some OAA teams that had 3-6 of their regulars on spring break....what I was mentioning those teams playing DLS in a regular season schedule 3-4 times each, not unlike the 12 times each they played everyone in the catholic league over and over and over........you are bending the tree branches like the wind did at my house last thursday.....by the way I called the city DPW and they said they will be out to my house about in 3-4 weeks to pick up tree limbs....yuk!!!!!

DVI are you going to contribute firewood money to the guy who has the big bonfires in his backyard for all the Dakota friday night games???? I understand he gets his wood from Wiegand's nursery......I will sent him ten bucks or so for some wood.....nice tradition......watched "All the Right Moves" with Cruzeey the other night and I still do not understand what a "52 stack monster" is.....maybe I should ask Godzilla.....Payne Stewart's young son is playing in the amateur leagues now in golf....plans on going to Q school...wonder if he will wear knickers and knee socks and fancy duds like his dad.....update on Monica: she took cash and jewelry also....wonder if she got it at Jared's????

While the city of Detroit was in a hurry to tear down Tiger Stadium, I heard on WJR or 950 that there are 48000 dilapadated houses to be torn down in Detroit neighborhoods right now.....glad someone has their priorities straight....later, Tom and peace to all.......
