Why Fox 'News' isn't news

"Elroy - regarding Fox News - yes, it is directly opposite your views. Unfortunately, it is the only "news" station, including ABC, NBC and CBS that doesn't prostrate themselves before Obama. It is the only station that you can go to to hear the other side."

Yes, thank you.

"CNN, MSN and especially World News Tonight on ABC, fawn over Obama like the man can't do any wrong. They sicken me as much as Fox. They push their own agenda too, very hard as a matter of fact, and I doubt some of their "news" is the truth."

Or ignore stories that we should know, or relegate them to small print in the back when they would trumpet the same news if it were a Republican... case in point: Dan Quayle's "Potatoe" vs. Al Gore's "Who are these people" (while looking at busts of Washington and Franklin).

For more read Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News, by Bernard Goldberg.

"The fact that Obama tried to ostracize Fox News made me sick. And scared me."

Check out how a White House official treated an automotive research company on an official White House blog, because they dared to make a claim the Obama Administration viewed negatively... is this the kind of change we can believe in?

Elroy, The only thing I watch from Fox, and that is sports, not that swag of a so called news media. God bless President Obama, man, I just love saying that. It use to sicken me when I hear these same people say the same thing about Shrub and Cheney. I read that book Blinded by the Right and What went wrong with the Right.

It is truly sad that some Americans believe the propaganda machine that is News Corp, founded by a foreigner, Rupert Murdoch, which owns and runs Fox News with the express purpose of pushing a far-right, pro-business agenda is thought by some to actually be real news.

It is not.

It is simply a profit machine selling snake oil to the gullible.

It makes a profit solely on the reality that less critical thinkers are intellectually lazy and unwilling to verify reports for themselves. And it benefits from the fact that same less-than-educated crowd will believe a lie if it is so brazenly told that they can't believe a corporation would actually lie like that.

But don't take my word for it. Read the very well documented book, Blinded by the Right: The Conscience of an Ex-Conservative by former conservative journalist David Brock.

In the book Brock details how Murdock is using his massive wealth to push his personal extremist agenda under the guise of being "news."

And he admits how he helped them lie and distort the truth for that purpose. I challenge any Fox News supporter to read the book and discover how it works for themselves. But I seriously doubt any of them will. Why? Because they are intellectually lazy and don't want to challenge their own assumptions.

Enjoy,

Elroy

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.
