John MaCain

"MORE FOR LESS, that's the Repubilcans motto."

The above statement has to be the dumbest thing I have ever read.

What do you think the Obama motto is? Change? (chuckle) You like the economy? Where is it heading?

Mon. 11/16/09 02:06 PM

McCain is an Idiot with sour grapes

"Republicans have nothing standing in their way to make the United States resemble China and Mexico's "The Very wealthy" & "the Very Poor". No middle class to prevent them from doing whatever the Hell they want."

You have no idea what your talking about. Don't believe everything that is plasted all over the TV. Close minded fool.

Just look at everything that is happening.

Instead of GM and Chrylser being forced into bankruptcy you have a country that is over 1.5 trillion dollars in DEBT.

Guess who owns over 60% of Obamas debt? China does! What do you think is better? China owning 60% of American and the US being over 1 trillion in the hole. Or GM and Chrysler emerging from brankruptcy? I would take the latter.

Obama just wasted billions and billions of tax payers money. It would have been easier for the big 2 to go into bankruptcy. Same thing happend to the airlines. Why is this so hard for people to understand.

Americans factory workers are still to this day losing their jobs. Obamas bailout and stimilus dollars have done nothing to improve this economy. Its funny, Americans are still losing their jobs, and GM is still losing money. Anyone else see whats wrong with this picture?

All that Obama did was put a band aid on a serious wound that needed surgery.

Chrysler Won't Survive, then neither will America

"Actually wanting a decent wage is not a crime."

But the UAW didn't want just a decent wage, the union demanded more overtime, payed sick time, payed vaction time, payed holidays, payed job banks, full benefits, full retirement ect., the list goes on and on. All of this while GM and Chyslers were losing billions and billions of dollars.

Doesn't anyone understand this? Pro union or not companies cannot survive losing billions of dollars year after year.

Unions were formed in back in early 1900s to provide a safe and simple work place. Thats it union folk! Nothing more.

It was from there that the unions were lead by greed to start demanding more and more money and everything listed above.

Its really sad what the unions have done to once great companies.

McCain Would Have Let Automakers Die

""We see the automotive industry, and my heart goes out to the citizens of Detroit, really in the tank, and yet we have manufacturing plants all over the South, which are not bound by some of the labor rules and contracts that make them non-competitive," McCain said."

I 100% agree, why on earth would any business want to do come to the state of Michigan and be forced to deal with all these labor unions?

UAW works have forget who they work for and its NOT the union.

The joke is on the UAW.

McCain Would Have Let Automakers Die

"These old dudes in the Republican party aren't looking around them and seeing the success of more managed economies as in China and Japan. We are getting our lunch eaten by hand in glove government/business relationships in other countries. We can't abide by such foolishness anymore."

Politically speaking: The Dem or Rep wouldn't have saved these companies. GM and Chysler were sinking ships, nothing more could have been done. Obama got cold feet and decided to go along with who elected him, the UAW. Obama made a huge mistake to ballout these poorly run compaines. Now its on the tax payers.

Clunkers

"People complain about the lack of jobs and seek all kinds of silly solutions. The only real solution is to start producing things in our Country, and put Americans back to work. Tax the Asians on the vehicles they ship to our Country the same as they do to us...'

Problems regarding the US economy are deep and complex. You cannot simply just stop that container ship heading into port. Jobs simply don't create themselves you need a large demand of something or anything. Do you know of anyone that can afford one of those new $40,000 cars? I know I don't. Incuding me. Even if ALL the foreign auto makers were to all of sudden close their doors. Nothing is going to change. Foreign car makers STLL hire and use americans workers. Closing foreign automakers would put even more americans out work.

All we ever hear about is a whole lot of mumbo jumbo and no real solutions or answers. Until americas can actually go out and afford to start buying, nothing is going to change. Doesn't matter if its foreign or not.

Obamas answer was to throw a bunch of money at the US economy. But little has changed. Employment is still rising. Which in turn proves that the stimilus package has failed.

CyberSurvey: Ford profits, UAW contract collide

another good post..

Someone that understand simple business. UAW workers are getting paid by UAW they are employeed by FORD! If ford does file for bankrupcy does any of it matter anyway? Which is why I don't understand the union attitude? It makes no sense to refuse changes to make the companies you work for profitable, when in turn if the company does belly up your going to be out of that very job.

A good example of the UAW attitude is shooting your own parents because they won't give you the same allowance as the kid next door. Once the parents are gone how are you going to get that allowance? Or better yet how are you going to receive any money? These parents are Ford, GM & Chrysler.

German indignation over General Motors decision to keep Opel

Excellent post.

I 100% agree, GM is screwed and they'll be all but done and gone by 2012. GM will have no choice but to move their entire operation to China. The Chinese (americans like it or not) are loving all of our automakers. And why shouldn't they? The big 3 are employing tens of thousands of chinese workers and in turn they now have money to purchase all these cars. It makes no difference what company you purchase your next car from. Each and every one has ties across the globe.

The writing has been plasted ALL over the walls for years!

The business concept is very simple. The big 3 are moving to other world markets in order to stay in business and seel cars. Americans cannot afford car that cost $40 grand. How do you think these automakers can build and make cheaper cars? The big 3 had no choice but to start selling to markets where people are buying.

Which is why it irks me when ignorant people try to slam china each and every which way. It it wasn't for china buying up all of Obamas debt and having their people pruchase cars. GM, Ford and Chrysler would already be out of business and there would be another 1 million people out work, scratching their heads on why did this happen.

Just think about it...No one had any real idea or answer how this mess of a country will turn out. All you read and hear is more terrible business news. More and more problem but NO solutions.

"And do not forget to heap plenty of blame on Pres. Obama and the current Democratically controlled Senate/House because they did ALL of THIS DAMAGE ... ALL BY THEMSELVES ... in LESS THAN TEN (10) MONTHS!

Let's keep things in prespective!"

AMEN! excellent post!...

Ford Workers Still Drinking The Automotive Koolaid

"however voting against this agreement will not sent the message that they recognize and support the need to reduce cost and change the way business is done on the plant floor. The message that they are sending is that its business as usual, please continue to feed the overpaid automotive worker."

I agree, the problem with a lot of these union employees is that these people don't understand who they are working for.

Its NOT the UAW, its FORD!

"Have you ever had a desire to actually look at what the "state run" radio and news papers, allow the people to read."

Funny, what do you think of ALL the false garbage that is printed in US papers every single day? Its all the same brain washing pointless drivel. Especially the constant lies coming out of washington daily. Sorry, censorship does have its good points.

Don't beleive everything printed.

"The people of China are fine with me. I have no hatred for them. However, your blurred views of the government of Communist Red China is a different matter."

Barney, I have already talked the Chinese society with you. Its OK, I disagree with most of your views regarding this country. Your thoughts are very unbalanced. China isn't a "third" world country like you claim. The government now has foreign investments in over 172 countries world wide. How that for free marketing? You ignore the fact that China owns over 60% of the US. That alone speaks volume. Fact is whether you like or not China is becoming a world power.

comprende?...

Your should start posting your disgust towards washington, not the chinese government.

Fri. 10/30/09 12:06 PM

GM in China

Why is a global world/market such a bad thing?

Do you understand foreign investment? Thanks to Obama, if it wasn't for China the United Stated would already be bankrupt and the US dollar would be worth next to nothing.

China owns over 60% of ALL current US debt. Since Obama has started his stimilus spending spree. Its up to US trading partners to pick up his spending bill. Who do you think is out 1# trade partner? Better not knock your that big guy that is paying for all your spending.

China is booming right now. Its the single fastest growing economy in the world. My point is China is NOT the big bad communist nation posters want to paint it as.

Every country in the world has labor issues. China is going through a massive growing period exactly like the US did in the early 1900s. They now have actual labor laws. Ever since 1979, China has began to make major reforms to its economy.

the US government/washington sold americans out the window, not China. Why hasn't anyone given a hoot in Washington about all this companies moving overseas. Understand this has been going on for over 30 years.

Just think about it? Why wouldn't you want to do busniess with a country that has over 1 billion people? Why do you think americans cannot afford $40,000-$60,000 new cars? Too darn expensive.

BUMPER STICKERS

"The BUMPER STICKER that really gets me is the "Support The Troops" sticker or a "American Flag" on the back of a Toyota or Honda."

Look out! Your above statement just opened a can of worms! Ouch... You realize Americans DO assemble Toyots & Hondas?
