Government goal was to replace Chrysler mgt.

Can you imagine any business like the Government who is more mismanaged. Government is failing in every endevor they undertake. They only hire those who can not make it in any other type of business. Government acivities are filled with waste and corruption. Then some Harvard idiot like Rattner demonstrates his ignorance by criticzing an industry that he has never worked in and doesn't understand. Talk about hindsight and look who is calling the kettle black. I can't wait for the next election.

GM'S CFO Young

Why is this man still employed by GM. He was at the financial helm during GM's fall into bankruptcy. Who should take the blame. Looks to me that Young is the guy who should have stopped mortgaging GM out of business. Whose in charge at GM these days. Looks like everyone is out to lunch.

Nails 2

Doug Frasher knew in 1980 that UAW wages were too high. Thats why he gave the Big 3 wage concessions but he didn't go far enough, they weren't permanent. Costs are costs and whatever you want to call them those costs will eventually make you non competitive. Greed is something well known on both sides of the bargaining table.

Barney I didn't see you in the meeting. Sorry you missed the fireworks.

Ford UAW

The actions by the UAW at Ford is only a reminder of what killed the golden goose at GM and Chrysler. Then you ask why the auto companies moved production of components and some autos out of the country. This is the answer if you open your eyes.

GM's Financial Crisis

Let me tell you about RAT-NER and the mis-management of the Government under Obama. But that's a different story. GM needs a omplete overhall in top management. Their financial team is a complete failure. Whoever wrote their recovery plan doesn't understand the pay as you go concept. Borrowing beyond the ability to pay, selling off vital assets , not controlling expenditures as well as as the UAW contract and poor customer relations is what killed the golden goose. From the very beginning of General Motors and Sloan's approach was strong financial control over all business activity. Something GM had given up letting Personnel and Engineering having too much to say about finance.

Delphi

All I can say is "goodbye" and hope your future is as bad as mine appears to be. This company was created for all the wrong reasons.

GM Consolidation Outside Detroit

Sounds like the right thing to do. Splintered work activities are the most inefficient way to run any business. Driving back and forth between Detroit, Warren, Pontiac or Flint is a waste of time. From an employee stand point moving from the RenCen would be a wage increase. Boy, wouldn't that be a positive thing for those employees who are still on roll, who have put up with so much crap from GM Management. I wonder, if GM has the guts to make such a decision and tell Washington to tend to politics where they are doing such a terrible job.

Chinese Tires

China makes so many inferior products many laced with dangerous toxic substances that I would refuse to have them on my car muchless anywhere in my home. Retaliation doesn't bother me a bit because our trump card is cuting Walmart purchases.

How many UAW workers really make $14 dollars an hour.

Who goes to the movies? Very few movies are worth the dime I used to spend on a double feature, one hour of cartoons and a free dish. Reading the news about Detroit is the best laugh of the day.

Buick Crossover

I love my Buick LaCross. Last week on my 1200 mile trip from Florida I averaged just over 30 miles per gallon. American cars are just as good as those copy's from foriegn companies. Give us a break.

Auto Sales

I've said before that the sale of autos is a matter of price. When GM, Ford and Chrysler offerred big, big discounts along with employee pricing the sale of autos including SUV's soared. Just think what they could have done without those stangling UAW wages and benefits. Cash for clunkers proves price will trump so called better quality everytime.

Landey- You are correct that Kelogg's is in Battle Creek. Also, it is the home of Western Michigan University. Since I stopped eating cold cereal I lost track of Tony The Tiger and Jack Armstrong. I think General Mills is in Minneapolis. I hope you washed your hands after some of your encounters

Your reply gives your character away. We all know who you think you are. I really think you may be the famous union official George Morris. If you were General Mills you would say "Kalamazoo". Sorry I got your goat but it sounded so funny. You may even be Chief Pontiac for all we know.
