Gettlefinger's Contract Fatigue

This vote comes down to one thing, and that is the lack of leadership. A good leader will get it members to follow, especially during times of uncertaintly. VP Bob King is a smart man, but does not have the ability to close the deal or lead its members. It's one thing to be able to negotiate a good contract, you also have to get your members to believe in you enough to sell it. There has been speculation is recent articles that Bob King will succedd Ron Gettelfinger as President. If this is true, I pray that the UAW board rethinks this decision based on recent events. I want this and all Unions to succeed because it is good for everyone, but I don't believe they can without leaders who have vision and can lead.Certainly there is someone else in the UAW leaders besides Bob King that has vision and can lead. Just something to think about. Bob is out of touch, just look at the evidence.

UAW rejection spells trouble for industry, region

After reading the article regarding the CAW. It proves my point that good leadership get their members to follow. Clearly Bob King doesn't have the ability to do that. Here's hoping their board supports someone other than Bob to succeed Gettelfinger.

UAW-CAW

This proves my point I made in a different thread. Strong leaders get their members to follow. Bob King from the UAW is not a strong leader. Here's hoping he does not succeed Gettelfinger.

UAW's Next President

I reiterate. People will follow a good leader. A leader in touch with his/her members would have been able to articulate the importance of these changes. Am I wrong?

UAW's Next President

What I mean is, a leader who was in touch with his members would have been able to get this passed.

That's what good leadership is, being able to make people make tough decisions in difficult situations. Again, Bob King is not the leader needed right now. Can't get the job done.

UAW's Next President

Just saw that some are saying the Bob King will succeed Ron Gettelfinger. I certainly hope that is not the case. Mr. King may be very smart, but he can't relate to the people on the line.

It is time the UAW picked someone that is smart and can relate to the average Joe. There must be someone on their board that fits this discription.

Nothing against Mr. King, but it's time for someone new.

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.
