370Z? Typical Nissan FUGLY

hey sutton!drove a sentra lease car awhile ago with 27000 on it...seemed solid to drive and was still sounding pretty solid when you hit a bump or closed a door.the tolerances on doors and hood etc.was quite good.i don't share your opinion in this vehicle at all,it looked very nice and the interior was user friendly.oh,that's right, you're one of the "never sat in one,but know it all"people.

With Ford's Fusion as a Motor Trend Winner..Does Ford Know How To Tell People?

racinghcr...do you really think if we all buy domestic our industry will be saved??Are you aware where of the fact your yankee doodle dollars are going to RED China in GMs case??Our Detroit News (last yr)had a front page article about plant shut downs by GM.....turn to page two and you read about the new tech center and plant under construction in RED China.Yeh,that really helps us out.Give it up,all you have to do is read the paper and it's no longer rumor,it's fact.

C'mon, leave the old fart alone.Hell,he's still trying to figure out how many houses he owns.

fed up!!!

Took the car to the dealer for a broken module, sat there for 2hrs and was told the part was not the one needed and came back 2 wks later.sat there for 20min. and was told the part was inferior out of the box...come back...went back about a week later and now it was the wrong part....changed dealers, now going 10 miles one way.....sobbed on their shoulder.waited 1hr at new dealer, part didn't fit...at this point went home (4 trip/133 miles) and it still isn't right..in the turmoil at the 1st dearlership had the raditor flushed and new anti freeze added to correct low anti freeze level.Had the oil changed this morning..guess what, the anti freeze is low.No, this isn't an anti UAW domestic hate letter,it was a tpsm (tire press.sens.)module on the Hyundai.Go figure.....

doh.....

CHK...the models you mentioned are not new to the marketplace.Thank you for the heads up,but,I'm well aware of the fact cars have incrased in price in the last 10 years. My observation is only that when these vehicles get into the 30+k range, they are going up against Asian and German vehicles, and they should display a little caution...the best car will win,and +2 more mpg ain't getting the job done.

Wed. 11/11/09 07:27 AM

doh.....

When did $30,000-$40,000 become the norm for new vehicles??I guess I was sleeping in econ class when it happened. The Taurus/40k..Flex40k../Malibu 29,999k(nice try GM,but it's 30k)..and others that hit this price range when options you want are added.Forty grand doesn't register in my mind.Who decided the public is this financially sound?

I guess you should expose all my terrible name calling, etc. to all here at AT.My fav. was "rubbish"for rubble,& using the other terms (unlike you, that were few and far between). Now if I generalized and referred to "idiots"etc.that was simply how I see them or it.Terms like "pig"and so forth are what I am called, and that will get you thrown off of this site. But,since I am anti UAW (not unions, just UAW)and folks like yourself know I (we)are correct in our statements about the massive problems caused by your group, you must point fingers at everything and everyone, which is usually the final effort when losing an argument.Read the paper,LOOK AROUND YOU,and the wonderful union that gives up nothing except the new hires pay (how can you ever survive with a cut to YOUR pay like that?)is killing the golden goose....a world economy had no room for your out dated thinking and lack of survival, you silly man...oops I've done it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reference to Barney was just a wake up notice to people like yourself that seem to have a difficult time with original thoughts (posting the"written word as gospel")in your endless posts and your occasional personal attacks on people.I've read,oh,maybe a handful of your posts and attacks and feel you need to let people have their opinions without you with your dictionary, thesaurus, etc.jumping down their throats.I guess desperate people do desperate things,or,it could be a lack of common sense that makes folks like Barney refuse to see what is happening. And since you and Barney were,uh,so friendly,I anticipated you would forgo and auto talk to attack me.Thanks for again, leaving your "post"to protect your "buddy".I didn't have to wait long.

Helloooooooo...Barney...is that you?

Thu. 11/05/09 07:15 AM

some things never change

Got a call from my son last evening. He decided to check out Saturn also...found the 7 pass. Opel rebadge SUV,test drove it,loved it,went back with his wife & kids to seal the deal, and almost bought it.Over the phone and on the internet the reduced price, special savings, etc. were too good to pass up.THE STICKER WAS 39K...it was a demo and the price was OFF THE STICKER,oh,and it was an '09.No deal on a demo,no deal on an '09...and then he was told the info was incorrect...the discounts voided each other at purchase.SO,being in Wisconsin, where a car is a car to those folks,he will be looking at imports today...at 40 he's had a fill of these dealers.Oh,and by the way,he was at the dealer for over an hour and it was as empty in there when he left as when he got there.

Wed. 11/04/09 08:42 AM

what??????

I am not an industry "insider",but after my rather lengthy career as a contractor,I know a few things about some of the misguided statements here.First off,as much as you would like things to make sense about the companies, don't hold your breath...small ultra high milage vehicles do not generate enough PROFIT to be considered, the big bux is in trucks and suvs.GM can't survive with Malibu,Aveo, and small c/o sales alone. They need to find a way to shove 40,000 dollar pick ups down the consumers throat and have them excited about it in the process.Look in your paper, the prices rise every week. The actual cost of these vehicles to mfg.has been estimated at 50% of the asking price (or more, according to some). Two seats is cheaper than four, nothing in the back except a big metal box, less glass, and so on.I know some need a truck to survive, and that's a shame they are taken in by the companies greed. The attitude of "a real man drives a truck"has diminished as the prices escalated. As I posted, about ten years ago we heard, among other rumors, that GM was hoping to import 100% of their passenger vehicles and build only trucks/suvs here in the US.Don't know if that is still in the works, but,it seems feasible yet.Oh,and the whining about the CEO pay, etc. ..they have the power and the money, they hire us,not visa versa. The first thing a new company looks for is not line workers or contractors,it's someone to run the show and show big profits. This will never change,so you might as well live with it.And finally,if you hire people and have to provide all the benefits and a pay rate, seems to me that should all be considered when figuring how much they make.Benefits are not a law. This is my opinion, common sense and everything.

Barney, nope,he drives and cares for his vehicles just fine..rather than go on ,let me list what has happened with his three problem children...electrical,engine,front suspension, sensors, steering wheel, seat, and brakes. The Trailblazer went in for the oil light being on.The following weekend while we visited it came on again..three days after it was "repaired".His job takes up most of his time,so repairs are done @ the dealer,no cut rate Kmart stuff at all. He's going to give it another shot with GM,I wish him luck with the Equinox.

Tue. 11/03/09 07:41 AM

more GM..

Sorry to have to "car talk"again,,,as you know,my son has had zero luck with his CTS,Trailblazer and G8.Now he's buying the "new GM"propaganda. He's seriously looking at the new Equinox. If he gets one I will judge GM on this one vehicle only..for my sons sake I hope their "new"vehicle is indeed a world beater. If so,I may go take a test ride also.I've been 6 mos.into getting a new car,but the corp. future stops me.There may not be one.

Sat. 10/31/09 09:41 AM

reality sets in..

I remember watching the news the day GM closed their assy plant in Texas where the big ol'Caprice was assembled. You felt for the one young man being interviewed as he exited the gate for the last time, almost in tears,as he said he would give up all the other bennies just to keep his job, with his first born on the way."where else here can I make the wage that I had?"he said as he walked off camera. The greed of the company and the ignorance of the union make for a sad,sad situation.
