for real

A big part of the problem with the Lion has been the inept ability to hang on to mediocre and subpar talent season after season. Backus and Raiola would not even be starters on any other team. Backus has never played to his draft pick potential, and Raila is nothing more than an embarassment to the organization. The fans do not appreciate anything about these players, and they make that abundantly clear by booing and jeering them every time they are introduced. Yet the team feels somehow obligated to them, so season after season we get to watch them stink up the field. Do you really think little Raiola would be picked up by ANY other franchise if he left the Lions? The only thing that he has ever shown a talent for is expressing his disdain for the Detroit fans. And Backus completely avoids the limelite, hoping no one notices his poor performance each week, meanwhile still riding the gravy train!

Yes, Raiola would start for plenty of NFL teams. Backus would start for other teams, too. I do think they've got to find his replacement/successor next offseason, but Backus is not the reason they're losing right now, quite frankly.

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.

If you find a problem, please tell us, and thanks in advance for your patience as we work to improve the forums for you.
