Schedule for 2009-10 out next week

Red Wings fans are a passionate bunch. The season has been over for less than a month, and already fans are thinking about next season.

A couple of fans have e-mailed me, asking when next season's schedule will be released. Look for it next week, either Wednesday or Thursday. The NHL typically releases it a day or two after the baseball All-Star Game.

Also, in case you missed it, the Red Wings re-signed Ville Leino today. In his brief appearances with the Wings last season, Leino looked like the prototypical Red Wing. He knew how to get to open spots on the ice, and what to do once he got there.

Mike Babcock liked Leino's potential from the first time he saw him. With Marian Hossa gone, Leino is one of the players who'll have to pick up the scoring load next season.

Do you understand what a blog is?

Given the News' reliance on online publishing, blogs need to be updated more than every several days or once a week. No wonder no one else is commenting! You're a fine reporter. Report. Comment. Get with the program. Or find someone else to keep up with the nature of journalism in the 21st century.
