This outdoor hockey stuff is nothing new for Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith.
He made his college debut for Michigan State in a game at Spartan Stadium against Michigan in 2001.
"I remember it was pretty snowy then it would stop, and get a little bit windy, almost a little bit of rain, too, from what I can remember," Keith said. "It was a weird day for weather."
Keith has a little advice for playing outside - keep it simple.
"When you're passing the puck with snow on the ice, you've got to make sure everything's done hard, be very conscious and assertive with the puck," he said.
"If you try to get fancy or try to do too much, it backfires in this type of environment. If you just keep it to easy plays, I think that usually works out the best.
"And don't get frustrated if something does happen because of bad ice or bad conditions."
