Waiting for the Wings

CHICAGO -- We're not waiting "in" the Wings, we're waiting "for" the Wings, who are expected to hold their first practice on the ice at Wrigley Field in about 40 minutes. We were here for the media skate yesterday and it was a lot warmer yesterday. I wonder how long they'll go today. Captain Nick Lidstrom is expected to practice and then they can decide whether he'll be able to go tomorrow.

Ty Conklin will be continuing his personal tradition of starting in every outdoor New Year's game. He played for Edmonton in 2003 in the Heritage Classic and for Pittsburgh last year in the inaugural Winter Classic. According to weather.com, it's supposed to be 35 tomorrow.
