Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios, in his 25th NHL season, left Tuesday's exhibition game at Montreal in the third period after getting hit on his right leg with a shot.
After being attended to on the bench, Chelios was helped to the Wings' dressing room during a stoppage in play with 14:49 remaining. It appeared the shot might have hit him near his knee.
