Coach Mike Babcock confirmed center Valtteri Filppula will not play in the Wings' first two exhibition games because of a bruised thumb.
... WXYT (1270) will broadcast the Wings' Wednesday (vs. Montreal) and Friday (vs. Boston) games this week. Meanwhile, 97.1 FM The Ticket will broadcast the Wings' game at Montreal (Sept. 30) and both games against Toronto (Oct. 3 and 4).
