The Stockholm paper had a few shots of the team's Swedes, including a kiss (you have to scroll way down the page to get there) between Conn Smythe winner Henrik Zetterberg and his girlfriend, Emma Andersson, a singer/actress in Sweden.
Johan Franzen found an interesting place to sit after the last night's Stanley Cup-winning game (see photo at right). I wonder if Marc-Andre Fleury was cooling his behind after the game, too.
So Sidney Crosby, the annointed one, was too crushed to talk last night. I wondered if he'd finally admit that Detroit had a decent team.
"I haven't experienced a Stanley Cup final loss before. It's not a good feeling,"
Duh.
Damien Cox of the Toronto Star points out the myriad ways the Wings have won: with Russians, Hall of Famers, Swedes. "The Wings, who won with the Russian Five in '97 and '98 and with a roster dominated by Hall of Famers in 2002, proved they can win any way they want to."

Congratulations Detroit
I just wanted to congratulate the Red Wings and their fans for a great victory. After dealing with the utterly classless Flyers and their obnoxious fans, it was refreshing that the final was played in the manner in which it was. The Red Wings were clearly the better team in the series and certainly deserve the cup. The team and it's fans are a classy example of how a hockey town should be, unlike those bozos in the east of my state. Enjoy the moment, it very well could be the first and last time the cup was skated around Mellon (formally Civic) arena.
