Draper's A Dad Again, And More
Quick update after practice today.
Kris Draper had a good excuse for missing practice today. His wife, Julie, gave birth to their third child, a baby girl named Kamryn Rose Draper -- 8 lbs, 13 oz. He'll be back at practice tomorrow with cigars, no doubt.
Valtteri Filppula was the only other absence, but he's clearly on the Yzerman plan, playing in the games but skipping the practices with a leg injury that's been hampering him since the end of the conference semifinals.
Chris Chelios practiced again but the knee is still bothering him so we may see Andreas Lilja in the lineup again to start the Finals. We'll have to wait and see.
Franzen skated again briefly today -- after practice -- and while Ken Holland said he's feeling better, there's still no word on when he might return.
One bit of good news for slump-ridden Dan Cleary: He got medical clearance to ditch the chin guard on his helmet, so today was the first day he practiced without it.
