Franzen Cleared To Resume Workouts
Johan Franzen has been cleared to resume light workouts back home in Detroit, general manager Ken Holland said this afternoon in Dallas, where the Wings will play the Stars in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals tonight.
But Franzen, who will miss his third straight game due to concussion-like symptoms, still is experiencing headaches. And there's no timetable yet for his return to practice, let alone games.
"He's been given the green light to start doing a few things," Holland said. "Nothing major, just riding the bike a little bit. We'll continue to monitor the headaches and we'll see how he responds."
Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals could be as early as Tuesday night in Detroit if both the Wings and Pittsburgh sweep the conference finals.
"He's feeling a little bit better, but we'll just have to wait and see," said Niklas Kronwall, Franzen's roommate on the road. "I talked to him the last two days and he's a little frustrated, that he can't be here and be with the team, especially."
